Mitrione over Kimbo TKO rd. 2

    Koscheck over Daly Unanimous Decision.

Shogun over Machida KO rd. 1

Kimbo showed well early, had a couple takedowns and slams, and held his own in Rd 1, but gassed and got dominated, mounted and TKO'd in Rd 2.

Koschek used takedowns and ground and pound to dominate Daly. there was much controversy in the fight though: Kos took a glancing knee to the head while on the ground from Daly in the first and appeared to ham it up a bit as though he was really hurt. they continued and he out-pointed Daly, choosing to keep the fight on ground mostly, where he was in control throughout, and took his back at least twice but could not finish the fight.

at the end of the 3rd round though, WELL after the final bell, Daly sucker punched Koscheck with his vaunted left hook. utterly classless act on his part regardless of the smacktalk leading up to the fight. i've never seen a cheapshot anything like it in MMA. Rogan said a suspension was surely going to come from this, and that he should've been charged with assault. Koscheck, not wanting to be out-douched by Daly i guess, went on a tirade aimed at the Canadian fans about how the Penguins were going to kick their ***, and GSP was going down as well.

Shogun and Machida traded punches, knees, and kicks for most of the first round, with neither man gaining a clear cut advantage before Rua clipped him in the side of the head (above the ear) and rocked the Dragon, before mounting him and knocking him out cold to become the new champion.

    Great night of fights overall,
-I'm sad about Kimbo but he just looked slow and tired out there and his legs are really a weakness
-Koscheck's wrestling was rly crisp and I can't wait to see him fight GSP
-Shogun really impressed me tonight-no problem with Machidas unique stance and punches were rly powerful
-Also, looks like Kimbo and Daley are done in the UFC as well according to Dana

Dana said Kimbo and Daley are both gone from UFC. What Daley did was classless. What Kos said about the Canadiens was fine with me since they booed him all night. Stout and Stephens had a great fight and I cant wait to watch it again.

Daley did his best Lagarrette Blount impersonation and it lost him his job. Sad he has alot of promise. Kimbo's legs are just shot. Its a shame too. He has shown so much improvement and has proven all the naysayers wrong about him. Dana, amongst others said he would never fight in the UFC, yet here he stood in a UFC ring for the second time. I have nothing but respect for Kimbo, and am sad to see it come to an end .I expected Shogun to take it to Machida and he did. My only beef with Kos is his dramatics. Anyone else think that the Lawler guy looked like he was fifty? Fight of the night IMO, Cote and Belcher.

The place we watched didn't have sound, opting for a DJ during the fights.

Shogun was incredible. All we, the fans, wanted was a definitive result. We got it. Last thing I was expecting was a KO.

Crazy to think that after Machida mowed those guys down to get the belt, we thought, "Who's gonna eff with this guy and his style?" I honestly thought he would reign for awhile.

Machida didn't even so much as defend the title before being neutralized.

Shogun had the style to to beat the guy who appeared to have the perfect style. Machida may well have wiped out every other fighter in the division. But Shogun was the antidote. Listening to him after, he had Machida beaten before they stepped into the ring with his gameplan. Impressive.

My favorite exchange after the fight:

Q: Would you fight Anderson Silva?
    A: "Of course, I'm a professional fighter."

    THANK YOU!

Probably better if it's Rampage next rather than Rashad. But it didn't end well for Rampage last time.

You knew it would turn out the way it did, but after Koscheck faked for the second consecutive fight, I was rooting hard against him. What BS.

I thought Daley was gonna go up and congratulate Koscheck. Dude told Dana he didn't hear the bell. Please. Have fun in Strikeforce.
Upon being told Daley would never fight in the UFC again, Koscheck said, "I guess I won twice."
Koscheck and GSP will coach the next season of TUF and fight at the end of the year.

I love Lawler. He's such a goofball. I wanted to ask him how much clothes cost during the Confederacy.

Kimbo also got cut from the UFC last night.

And  @ Rashad calling Mitrione 'Meathead' during the ESPN highlights.

Lawlers look was probably homage to Dan Severn. For you guys who haven't been watching Mma for a long time google the name ;)

kos is a punk. Its one thing to play hurt to slow down the tempo but daley didn't really have an momentum at the time. I think kos was trying to win via dq and thats a ***** move.
As for daley I think he'll be back as he shows promise and is a good fighter. Having said that he's a punk also and needs to learn control. You can't be teeing off on guys just because they talk **** to you, thats a good way to lose fights.
my initial reaction with shogun as he ended up getting tangled up with machida and thats how he got him down. In looking at some gifs though it does look like he missed with the punch then was able to almost slide into a trip takedown. Kudos to him for doing that. All though that is a weird *** take down he did lol.
Kimbo showed heart as he always has, but this is the second time I've seen him get gassed that quickly. He needs tons of cardio work.

I dont think Kos was trying to win via DQ. He was probably just trying to get a clean break cause he was in a bad position. Besides dont throw a ****ing knee when someone is down and you wont have that prob. Also Dana said he would never fight in the UFC no matter how good he becomes.

Im not sure he was throwing a knee as he extends his leg afterwards. He might have tried then since he missed thrown the kick.
And he thought quickly enough that he could get a clean break but no that it would end up in dq if it worked. I doubt that.

I also think dana white would fight his grandmothers corpse if it made money. He's a business man. All he would have to do is pretend he had a change of heart and wants to give the guy who made a mistake a second chance.

Dana is not all about the money. I think Dana is alot about the fans but he is the president and its his job to make money. I love Dana and what he does for the sport.

Meh its like bill gates man, I admire the guy for the charity and **** he does. He is not all about the money, but in the end do I think Bill Gates wouldn't run a business out of town, or fire people, or bring back people he had beef with if it benefits his company? I think he'd do it in a second. And the stuff Dana does for the "fans" also benefits his business as well.
FYI I also think bill gates would fight dana white's grandmother's corpse. Everyone wants a piece of her......
