wow that looks bad.....even if he gets that thing drained, and a cortisone shot....he will not have 100% movement and control with his arms....giving him a disadvantage on the ground and standing....and in the clinch.... any of you GSP fans worried about this? regardless of adrenaline or anything......if alves even attempts an armbar GSP has to at least think about this injury in the back of his head no?
i would guess its still on, or we would of heard the big news by now. i hadnt even heard he was injured though. hope the fights on that would be super ****ty if not.
exactly my point..me either...so when did this happen, how did it happen? and how serious, etc.... lots of questions.
from what iam hearing it is a burst bursa sac.......not extremly recent.....but regardless it will still be sore as ****....and could limit him tomorrow night
Wow, Alves at +240 or +225 looks like a steal right now. He made weight, right? I know that's been a struggle for him.
A friend on my hockey team had the exact same thing. I think it is just water build up. In time it went down. Doctor didn't even tell him to scope it or anything. All the while, he felt fine.
Ufc 100 Figured I'd go ahead and make this thread into a UFC 100 thread. As far as the weigh-ins, Frank Mir looks like he's in the best shape of his career. Brock.....I just always get a chuckle that he has to make weight to fight at heavyweight. What a monster. Stephan Bonner also looked to be in better shape.
great idea......i am so pumped about this card its ridiculous..... How about this hilariousness when it relates to the weigh-ins??? tom lawlor making fun of the "just bleed" guy....which is a pretty famous GIF inside the mma forums original tom lawlor mocking the fan great stuff..... muck what do you think lesnars game plan is coming into this fight!? its obvious mir is in incredible shape.....and he had a great showing standing with NOG and its obvious his ground game is superb (the first fight) do you think brock stands with him (ala randy fight) or tries to take down mir (risk a sub) and GnP him??? gunna be interesting to see....iam stoked for it
i think it just means you bet 100 and win 225......(being + means you are the underdog) for example if brock lesnar is -200 to mir......you would have to bet 200 to win 100.........because he is the favorite....they are lines trying to get more people to bet for the underdog who is not getting the most bets from all the people.
I thought he was just goofing off. I'd never seen that weigh-in guy before. I think Brock will try to take him down and GnP. That's where his strength is. And he's convinced that SHOULD have beaten Mir last time. I think he's going to try and get right on top of Mir from the start, smother him and take him down. Then pound him into unconsciousness. The gameplan for Mir would seem simple: don't get knocked out. Easy enough, right? Looking at it simplistically, Brock's not going to submit you (via anything other than strikes). So defensively, it's about not taking the big shot standing, and avoid letting Brock get into too dominant a position on the ground. I think Frank will have learned about Brock's length from the last fight, just like Randy did. You can't stand in front of him for too long or too straight up because of that length and power. I think you have to get in close and try to body up and lean on him against the cage, which Randy had some success with. He can't knock you out if your pressed against him. At 220, Randy nearly got a takedown from the cage. On the ground, it's probably survival mode and looking for mistakes/openings for submissions, assuming your on your back. Really, Randy had a pretty solid gameplan. And it worked until he decided to stand in front of Brock for whatever reason. My question is, what kind of shape is Lesnar in? Can he go 5 rounds? I know he did against Herring and beat him to a pulp. But it's one thing to be dominating, it's another to be in a dogfight. 280 pounds is a lot to carry around.
SopCast Channel 24267 is money!!!! (Dont want to jinx it...hope it lasts thru the Main Card....) Belcher vs. Akiyama is starting
GOD DAMN THAT KO was beast. Second punch was pretty sick though. I know their taught to go until the ref stops the fight but damn.
2 down...long way to go on a great card....(Henderson wasnt gracious at all.....he wasnt done fighting using his words to add salt to the wounds he just inflicted with his powerful overhand right.....)
THANK YOU BIGDOG for the sopcast channel, looked for the stream for 25 minutes with no luck. That KO by Henderson was like WHOA.
