So in your fevered imagination, THAT equals the Dolphins wanting to trade Tua??

I never wrote that the Dolphins wanted to trade him at any cost.
Consider that Tua's first three years in Miami were not especially good, and it appeared the team had made a mistake drafting him with such a high pick. Nevertheless a year ago March they took a chance and exercised their option for the 5th year of his rookie contract.
Now the team is stuck paying him $28 million for next season and a way to get out of that was another team trading their high first round 2024 draft pick for Tua, but apparently the Bears, Commanders, Patriots and Broncos preferred to pick a rookie QB.
My guess is that teams would have offered their 3rd or 4th round draft pick for Tua, but the Dolphins management figured it was better to let him play out his 5th year option this season.

Lmao… lay off of the crack

In his first two years he was coming off of a major injury and being coached by someone who hated him.

In his 3rd season he was an MVP candidate that lead the NFL in nearly all QB passing stats. So, you need to use context and educate yourself before you troll.

“Apparently”? Since we’re making sh!t up how about… Apparently no one wanted to move up and take the Bears, Commanders, Patriots, or Denver’s draft picks.
It’s funny that the only way you can come up with this nonsense is either by lying, being ignorant to the facts, making stuff up, or disregarding any semblance of context or rationale.

You’re not good at football and you’re even worse at trolling.

It's a shame that didn't happen. Gardner Minshew, Josh Dobbs, and Cooper Rush would have all been great replacements!

The discussion subject is the Dolphins drafting a rookie QB and all of the players you've listed are veteran QB's.
I have no idea if Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye or Bo Nix will prove to be more capable than Tua, but the teams that drafted
those QB's preferred to take that chance (and rookie QB contract) rather than overpay for Tua.
I believe all the people calling for the Dolphins to now extend Tua should understand no other team is interested in giving up high draft picks or paying him a big dollar multi-year contract, so doing so would be a case of the Dolphins bidding against themselves. #2025dolphinsdraftaqb

    Still making up sh!t?

Show me proof that the Dolphins shopped Tua, other teams declined to take him and instead decided that Bo Nix and Drake Maye, et al, were the way to go, and no other team would pay Tua. You're literally making things up in order to troll.

Aquapride: "I have a great idea. Let's trade Tua for a high draft pick in the hopes that a rookie QB can do better than the leading NFL passer who has been an MVP candidate for 2 straight years. It's super easy and everyone who picks a QB high WINS. Every team in NFL history has drafted a HoF QB when they've drafted top 10 and picked a QB."

Absofuc$inglutley no one: "Great idea. You're so smart. When did you get your NFL dream job as a GM?"

Prior to the draft it's common for nearly every NFL team to make inquiries to the teams who hold the high first round positions.
It's also common for teams to be very reluctant to trade away their high first round position. Remember that the League Rules for rookie contracts offers the opportunity to receive 4 to 5 years of excellent production for relatively little money.

    No, it isn't.

You're basing your entire scenarios on what you can do on your Xbox Madden. Yes, on Xbox you can win the Super Bowl every year with a 75 overall rookie quarterback and then trade up in the fake draft and get the #1 overall pick every season. It's fantasy, it's fake, it's kiddie stuff. This is what you're bringing to the table like it actually happens.

Yeah. I’m sure the Chiefs called up the Bears. KC offered Mahomes for the Bears 1st round pick because Mahomes is too expensive and drafting a QB number 1 is a sure fire way to win another SB for cheap. The Bears knew this and refused the offer. Mahomes is too expensive and winning a SB with a QB on his rookie contract is commonplace.

    You’re drunk again.

The first thing I do every year in Madden is trade my franchise QB for a 4th round pick. I usually grab a washed up free agent to sign a one year deal just to give someone else a crack at it. Then I use the 4th rounder on a QB to make sure I win the Super Bowl year 2. I also fire Mike McDaniel so there's no goofiness in the building. It's the secret recipe for building dynasties.

    Please answer this one question:

Do you believe had the Dolphins offered Tua to the Bears, Commanders, or Patriots , in exchange for their top 3 draft position , one of those teams would have done the trade?

Why is this relevant to us you need to ask yourself.

You don’t give up on a 25 year old Qb who has the elite traits Tua has.

Combined you have the #1 pro prospect in the game at anticipation, accuracy, release speed and depth of target.

You don’t shop that.. you continue to develop and work on the rest.

Either change the topic and see another side or stop writing irrelevant posts..

It's a simple question requesting a yes or no answer. It's not a "stupid question". And, if you will not answer "yes" , that blows a big hole in the argument all the folks are making to justify paying Tua a big dollar multi-year contract.

Tua is going to get his deal done before the season starts. Once that happens this guy will have his foot so far in his mouth it'll be poking out the other end. I'm interested to see how fast he leaves after that. If he stays it'll be clownworld.

If 9 out of 10 posts favor Tua and, or extending his contract that's considered acceptable and not "crazy"?
But 1 or 2 forum participants question Tua and they are labeled crazy and, or "troll"?

I question Tua's physical tools, but that's not the same thing as saying that the team was trying to trade him in the offseason. They clearly were not.

Yes. 100 out of 100 times they would have traded there “what if pick” for a back-to-back MVP candidate who has lead, or is near the lead, in every QB passing stat over the past 2 seasons and captained a top 3 in nearly every stat offense.

You’re either a troll or just plain ignorant how football works. Which is it?

It’s not only a stupid question but a question that’s so far out of reality it doesn’t deserve consideration. You might as well ask people if they think the Earth is flat. You’re literally acting like it’s a fact that the Dolphins shopped Tua in order to push your narrative that no one wants to take him. If you have to lie and make stuff up in order to further your opinion it’s no longer an opinion. It’s a baseless thought you have in your own mind . It’s fantasy. It’s trolling.

    So get this…

“Aquapride” isn’t a real Dolphins fan. He lives in San Fran and was a 49er fan who stopped rooting for them when they moved to Santa Clara. Then he was a Raiders fan until they moved to Las Vegas. He became a Dolphins fan because Ross was the only owner to vote against the Raiders moving.

I’ve had frozen food in my freezer for longer than this troll has been a fan.

I disagree. In no world would a team, right now, not trade Daniels, Maye, or Williams for Tua.

And that’s beside the point Aquapride was trying to make. The Dolphins, in no world, would have traded Tua for any of the top 3 picks. They never tried and they never would.

Eh, I personally am not enamored of any of the three but most NFL teams seem to rate them very high and any GM who gave up the chance to take Caleb Williams to trade for Tua or any other QB except Mahomes, Burrow, Josh Allen or possibly Lamar Jackson would likely lose their job unless their team went deep into the playoffs the next season.

And yet just two years ago the Browns traded 3 first round picks, 1 third round pick and 2 fourth round picks for Watson and then agreed to a fully guaranteed $230 million contract. A guy that several owner's wouldn't touch do to all the baggage.

Teams were high on Zach Wilson and picked Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. The list of top 10 pick QB’s who were busts is a mile long. The draft is basically a crap shoot. Teams know what Tua is and really have no idea what these QB’s that have never played a down in the NFL are. In back to back years Tua has been a top 3-5 QB. He was last year’s top passer. Maye, Williams, and Daniels may also get to Tua’s level, but Tua is currently there, he’s young, and has gotten better every season.

And again, the Dolphins, unlike what Aquapride is insisting happened, never shopped Tua.

I totally get the username now. Maybe he'll get sassy when Tua gets his extension and jump ship. "Jagpride" has a nice ring to it. He can go tell all the Jaguar fans to give Mac Jones the starting job and trade Trevor Lawrence for a top 3 pick to save the franchise from itself.

I’ll answer it and hopefully shut this nonsense down.

Had the Dolphins offered the Bears, Commanders or Patriots Tua in exchange for their first round draft pick?

The Dolphins weren’t going to offer Tua to those teams…or any other team for their first round draft pick or any other picks. It’s a nonsensical question…a nonsensical hypothetical. You don’t hire a new head coach that tailor makes an offense for your quarterback…and said quarterback excels at said offense resulting in him not only leading the league in nearly every significant passer category, but makes your offense one of the most dangerous offenses in the league…and then TRADE said quarterback. That’s a move teams like the Jets do.

There are only a HANDFUL of quarterbacks in the league that could operate McDaniel’s offense with nearly the same efficiency as Tua…and I seriously doubt you’re going to see Mahomes, Burrow, Goff or Purdy in a Dolphins uniform…because THOSE teams aren’t stupid.

Tua was the BEST quarterback this team could have drafted when we drafted him. He was playing for the wrong coach. Flores had zero interest in doing what GOOD head coaches do…tailor an offense to their quarterback’s strengths. He hired Chan Gailey as his OC who was so set in his ways, he wanted a quarterback who could run HIS offense and zero ability to develop his rookie quarterback. How we all seem to forget these little things.

Now if you want to have a discussion on Tua’s strengths…on what he does well…on Tua’s weaknesses…what he needs to improve on, we can have those discussions all day long and I welcome them. But if you want to continue with hypothetical nonsense due to your own etched in stone disdain for one player, then I invite you the the Bills, Jets or Patriots boards. I’m sure you will be more than welcomed there.
