Got to love how Frank makes it seem like the Jays benched him because they didnt want him to have 376 plate appearances to avoid paying him a salary bonus. Hmm... I dont know Frank... maybe its because youre batting .167 with only 3 HR and 11 RBI's and they're paying you millions upon millions to do nothing... I'd bench you too... I know teams do this all the time with players to try and avoid paying bonuses... but lets face it... Thomas is old, and not producing. I'd bench him for younger talent too.. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Ar0UpHgmk6d0u6ZpyTB41iY5nYcB?slug=ap-bluejays-thomasreleased&prov=ap&type=lgns
One of the best hitters of his generation till he got old and injured. Scary hitter in his prime but he needs to hang the cleats up.
It was his *****ing and crying that got him released, not his slump. He will be in pinstripes by the end of the week, they need a righthanded bat.
I could see Seattle going for him. Vidro is a pretty bad DH and if Thomas can just perform like he did last year it'd be an upgrade.
