It's hard to disagree with any of those. I'd have to throw an honorable mention to the 2002 team, or maybe call them the best Dolphins team that didn't make the playoffs. They went 9-7 and the season culminated with that putrid meltdown at New England, but that was a talented team. Ricky rushed for 1,800 yards and the defense was really solid for most of the season. That team should have made some noise in the postseason, but Fiedler getting hurt cost them a win or two, and there was horrid coaching from Wannstedt that they couldn't overcome.
That is a good point there. That team was a good one even though it didn't have as many wins. The coaching was really bad towards the end of the season. There were times I think they should have ran Ricky more and decreased Fiedler's passing. I do agree with you that was a good team. Now that I think of it, during that season he was getting stronger and harder to stop in each game, so when you didn't give him his carries, the Dolphins lost that game. At least that is how I saw it.
All the Dolphins' players from that era even say it was better than the 72' team. Championships are what make you great.
