It's because Caroo has been a bust to this point. I remember when the play happened I sat there thinking "Whoa, where'd that come from?"
You're exaggerating a bit here. The throw was short and the DB mistimed his jump. Caroo then made an uber athletic play - one which he most certainly isn't known for during his stint as a Dolphin. The other thing to consider is without that lone play (which Caroo netted 40 yards of YAC) - Tanny's YPA on the day is a paltry 5.16.
Context is always needed. I wouldn't classify either of those throws as a credit to Tannehill, but rather the offense as a whole, especially the two playmakers who extended the play to make it highly successful.
how many throws passed 10 yards did he have in that game maybe 4? how many in the second half 1 or 0? what im saying is his yards came from one great 33 yard screen in the first half and a lucky under thrown ball to Caroo for 75 yards im no math major but them 2 plays are over half his total yard for the game and he completed what 15 or 16 passes? that means 14 passes for 100 yards and out of those how many yards were yac? is all im saying. i did say he looked crisp in the first half, im not saying its RT faults im saying play calling and possibly RT decisions were huge factors. the colts knew this and played everything short in the second half.
i do like the play and the sling for sure gotta let guys make plays, but with that said it was lucky. Better lucky than good!!
I completely disagree on the ball to Caroo. He got hit while throwing, and was rolling out wasn't he? It was a great throw. Also, his receivers were largely getting no separation, so you've got to account for that also. Like come on guys, you can't look at this stuff in a vacuum. We're still missing Grant and Wilson. Parker was invisible (did he even play??). Amendola was out the entire second half, right? So, down three receivers to injury, and you're complaining that he wasn't throwing it downfield enough? Enough is enough. There are things to criticize him on, without continuing to just make **** up.
go re-look at that play caroo was open after 2 seconds it was RT who missed him and found him late once he rolled out (slightly) and brought the safety over, caroo was open after the LBs who were all up front under the 2 deep coverage, and he missed a wide open drake (i think it was) out the backfield way early on in the play. Those are reads a good qb makes wide open and he takes a hit. Granted it was completed but way under thrown and honestly i love the shot (since he doesn't take many) but in the grand scheme of the play it was to drake was the play the defense was cleared out over there for 10 yards+. just saying.
