The National Football Post | Titans To Stick With Collins I thought that Collins could do a good job for them and he seems to be doing it so far. He had a nice performance against the Bengals. It was against the Bengals but still a nice performance. We'll see how he fairs when he gets pressured heavily. I also wanted to say that I read an article today that talked about the Titans hoping to work Chris Simms into the offense. It sounds like they are hoping that he can be the Quarterback for them in the near future. This is where it comes down to Vince Young. Its still early to get rid of him but the guy hasn't been that good of a passer and he doesn't fit Himerdinger's offense. What do they do with Young if he decides to come back?
Anyone here remember Fishy Pete from FH? He had such a huge case of man-love for Young.... I wonder if he's suicidal yet?
Makes me glad we dont have Brady Quinn or Matt Ryan. Although.....would you go back and take Aaron Rodgers over Ronnie?
I still want Quinn or Ryan. Ryan's not doing so bad right now for a rookie. Falcs are 2-1. I'd take Ryan over Beck any day. Quinn we'll see. Rodgers got a long time to develop (or re-learn thanks to being dumbed down by Tedford) and it's likely he won't get that here. He's a Tedford QB and so far he's the only success case (Harrington, Akili Smith, David Carr, and so on).
I'm just glad we have Chad Henne waiting in the wings as he seems to be the real deal Holyfield... Aaron Rodgers over Ronnie?? Nope. Unless we were alowed to trade down to wherever Rodgers went, and pick up a couple of extra high picks in the process But even then, Rodgers' success thus far has not landed him a contract extension just yet. And, as Regan pointed out, he had the luxury of sitting for two years in GB behind a HOF'er. Here, well we know what would have happened.
If the Titans do this then basically they are going to be drafting another QB in next years draft considering how old Collins is. Personally I think this is a dumb move because Collins will end up letting the team down when it matters most (against a good team) because having watched the Titans I remember watching him before they benched him for Young. If they aren't going to let Young have the job back they should let Chris Simms have the job as he is younger and is just as good as Collins. I still think Young should start because he makes plays but I think his mental state has cost him the job and I believe his teammates lost respect for him supposedly quitting in that Jags game a couple of weeks ago. As long as the Titans defense plays well then they'll be okay but if some key injuries happen they will free fall unless they put Young back in or even Simms.
i wouldnt call Leinart a bust just yet. He wasnt a #1 overall pick and he's behind Warner who isnt a scrub. He just need to get his head into the game. Alex Smith is definately a BUST
I don't think he's a bust, I think he's just had hampered development because the organization that he's with is trying to win now.
are you saying Warner sucks?? The guy was the NFL MVP twice Like i said Leinart needs to get his head mentally in the game and stop trying to be Mr Hollywood and partying during the off-season.
No but Leinart sucked when he had the chance, he had the best WR tandem in football to throw it to and sucked. Warner is not the same QB from St. Louis.
He has sixteen career starts. His first year was adjusting to the NFL so you can understand any struggles he had. His second year he did struggle in his five games played but then broke his collarbone. I don't know how you can say he's a bust after only 16 career starts. Warner is not the same QB but he's still a good one.
Still talking about a veteran vs. a rookie. Yea they have the best WR tandem in football but he had a decent rookie campaign (compared to most really) and really got derailed with injuries. Can't believe me and vmarcilfan75 are defending a U$C player...
Best thing that could of happen to Ten IMO. Collins definitely gives them a better chance to win right now. Look out for Joey H to land there or in Stl.
