Very sad to hear he's leaving the show. Been listening to him on Sirius since I signed up for Howard back in what 2006 when he made the move? He's on right now on Sirius for the last 15 minutes of Moving the Chains. I don't know where he's going. I know he'll still be doing the games on FOX (he's doing our Falcons game week 4). Apparently had some personal stuff this year that I'm not aware of (I don't listen religiously, just on the way back form work). Anyway, best to him and hope you guys are as sad as I am about it. He's great.
I know his Mom had health issues and she eventually passed away which caused him to miss a lot of time this past year, (whether this played into his decision or not I don't know). But him and Pat had great chemistry and that is why their show was the best show about football hands down whether it be on TV or the radio. I will have to find the replay of their last show, because I didn't know about him leaving until I read this post.
That is terrible news. I think Pat Kirwan is the better of the duo, but Tim Ryan was a perfect partner for him. I just hope they don't stick one of those guys I hate with Kirwan and ruin the show completely. Jim Miller is my least favorite. His voice rubs be the wrong way and everything he says is idiotic. Unfortunately that's who was filling in for Ryan lots of the time that Kirwan was absent for awhile, must have been when he lost his mom (I thought it was his dad?)
Apparently he got some kind of deal from Fox. Other than the Friday woman's segment I really enjoyed their show. Not sure who they will team PK with but I hope they don't bring back Adam Schein.
Thanks for posting the news about his mom. I had not heard that. I believe he's going to be on the new Fox Sports 1 in some capacity, in addition to his color commentary Sundays for Fox. You are 100% correct about he and Pat Kirwan. I'm pretty sure that Sirius allows them to do the show "on the road" so to speak in that they aren't in the same room together at the Sirius headquarters in New York. Interesting dynamic in that you can't see your radio partner as you're doing the show.
hah.. Don't believe you have to worry about Schein coming back. I didn't like him either. Annoying Jets fan.
It's funny that you bring up Schein.. I recall during the lockout, both he and Gannon were pretty annoying in their outspoken support of the players union... as opposed to Kirwan and Ryan. Who, IMO were more fair, if not teetering towards the owners.
I'm not going to speak for him but if anyone could turn me off to women it would be those 2. Schein is just over the top on everything and Miller was his lap dog.
Oh Im no fan of Schein. Just a smug know it all. Just wondered why his being moderately pro union would be the thing latched onto to justify the dislike
well, you could take that one thing I said, in a story comparing the two different radio teams and I guess say anyone being pro union I find annoying? not going to go there, this isn't the POFO. and I stay out of there for a reason.
I don't judge these radio guys whether or not they are pro Dolphin (although it helps...). He has had a lot of seemingly uneducated opinions on a lot of NFL topics over the years. Plus his radio voice / accent is just terrible. Just rubs me the wrong way and he sounds like a dummy.
just relative to what Schein and Gannon were discussing vs PK and T rock. One radio team was logical in their thoughts... the other side wasn't. It was pretty annoying.
