Dolphins by 3 because: 1) our inconsistent QB is due for his good game after his last very bad outing 2) the jets are vulnerable psychologically after being destroyed by New England in such a devastating & humiliating fashion 3) the home crowd will turn on them when Miami gets ahead & is holding ground 4) we've got a defense that can get the job done. 5) the Dolphins will play without outside pressure & as total under-dogs (not on national TV). they will play solely for their honor & that of the franchise. it is their single best & immediate, shot @ self-respect & redemption before their fans. I believe they will come through on Sunday. Miami by 3
Jets are favored by 6, which is very tempting. I have no clue as to how each team will respond after horrible loses by each last week. I have to pass on wagers and forecasts.
I really hope #5 is true and is something that they have seriously thought about...considering how they have performed at home.
Friend rgf: like or not, he's what we got some of his games are better than others, he's due for a good game, about half his games have been reasonable to good good game = no turnovers, converts most 3rd downs & gets into the end zone. not so difficult, three points difference in our favor New England showed the Jets have feet of clay, they can be beaten @ their base & we have the defense to do it I think the stage is set for a Miami victory in NY
This game is not on national TV. Outside of the NJ/NY Metro area and South Florida, its being shown no place else.
Forum Friend Mommabilly: There will be blood in the water....... Put him on ignore and don't spoil the milk of human kindness.
Exactly, I never root against Henne. That would be rediculous being a Dolphins fan but I sure as hell have my doubts about him, so does Marino for that matter. Dont know if this was covered in any thread yet but I was listening to WFAN radio yesterday and Marino was on. The question was asked to him about whether he thought Henne was the long term answer. He said probably - simply because right now they have no one else. He also stated that sometimes Henne shows some improvement then he`ll have games where he`s far too inconsistant. Marino wouldnt openly rip Henne apart but if you read between the lines during his interview he clearly has doubts about Henne. Last time I checked- Marino knows a little about the QB position and what it takes to be an elite player. Sorry for getting off topic.
Friend Mommabilly: my bad. I made a mistake, not on national TV... thank you for the correction. hope that detail doesn't tip the balance of the game making it less significant for our team.
Friend CashInFist: I'm sure the remark that was aimed @ me not the team. not to worry. it is what it is. Merry Christmas!
Ummm...I would never disrespect you (never have), and he thanked the Jills Losers fan circling fagons.
There is one thing you've forgotten. Overall, the jests are a more talented team than we are. It's pretty simple. They have the edge in experience as well. I think the jests by 6 is reasonable...
Friend CashInFist: you are a solid poster & good friend the forum is a better place to post because of you & the great majority of quality people like you on the board.
Friend Larryfinfan: you're probably right I was trying to optimistically factor in some elements that are, @ best, questionable having said that would be great to edge the jests out @ home after being written off for the season my son & I will be @ the local sports-bar as usual watching the game play out in hostile territory devouring hot-garlic chicken wings & beer, whatever so you see, I've just got to stick with my prediction Miami by 3
He made a good point, what can I say? The Jets haven't had a convincing win since Buffalo, there's a decent chance they won't blow us out out of the water either. I disagree, b/c I don't think we'll be able to score, hope I'm wrong though.
I agree Henne will have a good game but his "inconsistent" play isn't helped by the fact that opposing defenses can guess his receivers routes majority of the time. The fact that Henne has even had minor success with Henning calling the plays is a miracle. So stop bagging on Henne, and start bagging on Henning.
Henning calls the plays - albeit terrible at times - but to my knowledge he doesnt misread recievers or throw momentum killing interceptions.
I doubt we score more than a couple field goals. So, yeah - if we can hold the Jets to 3 - we'll win by 3.
although this could turn into the Pats game where turnovers and ST play prematurely let the game get outta hand real quick.
Friend GMJohnson: maybe the defense or special teams can score for us, if the offense can't get it done. Miami by 3 Homer get out from behind that couch!
That's the problem. Our defense can't score, the few chances they do get, they drop them. We have no hope of getting a ST score. Our offense can't move the ball consistently, can't generate big plays either. So basically, we can't score any points. Unless the Jets give the game away, we're going to lose. Add in how bad the Jets got embarrassed on Monday, so you know we'll get their best effort. We'll be relying on Wallace & Moore again b/c even if Marshall plays, he's not likely to be in football shape (hamstring injuries do that to you) and it's a cold weather game. I don't like our chances at all.
