I dont know how you guys see our really glaring needs and I dont know why we cant put up better numbers in the passing game except for the issue being at qb but I have to ask theres questions. If we cant Get Andrew Luck and I can see us notgetting him . what positions do we need to really look hard at improving ? I like Wr Bess and Roberto Wallace but none of these guys including Marshall have the wow factor . so it seems to me that a high profile wr like Blackmon would be a good get even if wr isnt as glaring they are not that impressive. What runningback would we go after if D Thomas is the only back that is playing well or would we even draft another runningback ? who are the better prospects that might be first rd picks? I know that there is talk that QB Landry Jones might return for his senior season. but Brandon Weeden has a cannon of a arm and is very accurate dispite his ints earlier the kid wont need a whole lot of time in grooming and neither would Landry Jones . Is there a burning need that warrents a 1st rd pick ? I am really wanting Brandon Weeden who might be avalable in rd 2 so why not gets a big time tight end or get a bg wr like Blackmon in rd 1 and then fill our other needs like defensive end or defensive tackles and safety .so what are the other options if we cant get Luck ?
IMHO.............The FIRST 2 things a team needs to be successful are a very good HC and an even better QB. We have neither right now but it all starts there and if we dont get LUCKy, we need to seriously consider the next best QB in this draft.
Blackmon would be great but I don't see any way we end up drafting him with a new coach coming in even if its not luck we should be picking top 5 so I'm sure well end up taking some qb. We would have to trade down to get blackmon and I don't see anyone wanting to do that.
I see your point Rouk and my first hunch a while back was we would probally take a qb or a de but that is just my original opinion .
WE must have a bonafide Qb. If not Luck, than the next best prospect out there. This organization must quit pretending that they don't have to draft a highly ranked Qb. Does anyone have a count on the number of wasted 2nd round picks we have given up for no-name bench warming Qb's over the last 10 years? Christ, no wonder we stink, this organization doesn't hardly have anything to show for those high value picks for years. Oh yeah, Safety would be 2nd on my list.
