This is Polians plan imo.

he knows Manning is gonna be ok, Iam sure he's privy of the real info, and in no way does he want it leaked, so, he wants that #1 pick so bad, cause if he gets it, he will trade out, and surround Peyton in his twilight years with the high draft picks that he gets for Luck..

Him comin out and saying he will select Luck if he gets the chance, is all smoke screen.. He wants the 3 first rounders that come with trading back..and Iam pretty damn sure that team has checked out, and I'am sure he'sdone some little things within the organization to show the players where he stands on this subject..I'ts a business move for a business man.SFL that is..and Peyton Manning will be the beneficiary..

Imagine Peyton with Lamichael James and Blackmon on the field together for the next 4 years.

I think either scenario is plausible. If Polian plans on staying in place for more than 5 years then Luck may seem like the best pick. If he is planning to ride the Manning train to retirement, then loading up is a better bet.

The Browns will certainly have a ton of ammo from the Julio Jones trade to Atlanta. A pair of 1's this year and another next year plus a bevvy of 2 and lower.

Its possible that Manning will never play another down in the NFL. Nobody knows. Just cause Manning is not on the IR doesn't mean anything. This could be a move to string along their sponsors.

It is very possible that he is done. Neck/nerve injuries are a crazy thing. It is unlikely, but very possible.

I honestly believe he's not on the IR for non-football reasons such as to keep the fanbase and their sponsors interested.

Even with Manning the Colts should consider Luck if they have a shot, they can't keep Payton forever.

The Rams would be a powerhouse the next 10 years if they get that pick. They can stay in the top 5 get Blackmon.

I called Colts getting #1 pick a long time ago....am sure not the first, but saw the writing on the wall the minute rumors about off season surgery not being successful and Manning sitting out of practice once the lockout ended. Its all according "the plan" - whatever that is. Just seemed likely.

Felt Polian was shrewd and would grind to secure the #1 pick. I never predicted Miami would be in contention for #1 pick without trading up come draft day.

Since 5 teams remain with ZERO or 1 Loss....sure seems like based on remaining schedule it will be Dolphins and Colts battling down to the wire with SoS% being the difference. Right now we have a small % lead to work with....and I think Colts have a better chance of grabbing a Win then we do.

But I hope they win 2 and we will 1. AZ and STL and MIN will all grab 2 wins most likely based on their sched.

Fingers crossed for 1 win and SFL!

If the team at #1 is willing to trade they could pick up a bounty of epic proportions.

If STL or Indy get the #1 and we pick #2, I would have zero problems trading 3 first rounders plus whatever other swaps of picks Then at #2 either team could take Kalil who they desparately need, or Blakcmon.

Or...they could trade down again to a team desparate for the second best QB, either Jones or Barkley. Cleveland has two first rounders. You could end up with 6 first roudners the next three years. Not bad at all

This is a point that I myself have thought thru thoroughly, and is the reason why I'am ok with 0 and 16 {but not promoting SFL}..because the folks who want some wins will still want Andrew Luck come draft time, and if we get those wins were putting our franchise at a complete disadvantage by mortgaging an estimated 3 first rounds picks to get him..Thats a heavy price to pay for a few wins..

So, Iam gonna keep it classy for andrew luck's morales, but I'am not mad at the losses this year..The team had a chance to come together, unite, and play the perfect ''us against the world'' type season, they chose not to, they chose not to support and play hard for their coach..Personally, I believe the fans got to them this year and in the preseason, but, they needed to channel that negative energy, and they didn't, they folded.
