YouTube - Henry V- Speech
We few, we happy few...this Band of Brothers...
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars
And say "These wounds I had on Crispin's day."
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remembered.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day. (IV, iii)

I have always liked this one too:

BDH -
"To me, there are three things we all should do every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And Number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy.
"If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special."
Jimmy V. (Mar '93)
BDH, what I was thinking was the Hardcore Phins fans, you know.."us"...we went 1-15, this Band of Brothers never flinched, we stuck with our Phins, through the most difficult time in Dolphins history.
We Brothers watched Tuna and Ireland take each and every choice, we watched Chad Pennington, the hated one, show up in Miami and then waited to see what Practice Squad moves we made.
Our bonds of Brotherhood, should be celebrated...we stuck with our team when every other Board laughed at us.
In the words of Coach Parcells...I guess they can't call you guys losers anymore...:angry::cry:
We good BDH...we are winners now.:up:

While the Olivier version is indeed legendary, it's what Branagh does with it that elevates his to the finest in recorded history. Every leaf, every detail of the host turns to gray before that delivery and the passion that Branagh brings to it. There's no better version, and for our 9-5 team of undrafted free agents and misfits there's no more fitting a speech.

Many thanks to the awesome staff and members of the site, all of whom contribute tirelessly to an incredible Dolphins fansite.

Yes, we are!!! :up::yes:
I think all recent past Phin Coaches and those ex-team members are like the Germans...now that we are winners...they deserve to go away in peace and be recognized as nothing more or less than what we may have been if only for one thing...a new breed of LEADERS (IKE = Parcells; Bradley = Ireland; Patton = Sparano) that knew better, believed better, and felt a winning way existed to bring this franchise its deserved glory. :hi5:

BDH, we fans have suffered much over the course of 8 seasons, "we" have stuck with our Dolphins, through thick and thin, we are Brothers in both suffering and success....
This few, this lucky few...this Band of Brothers...soon the bandwagon will see other members join, and of course they will be filled with this and that, but for those Phin Brothers, the ones who cheered wildly when Greg Camarillo scored that TD in OverTime...we have a bond Bro.
And any PhinFan who speaks, will hold their fanhood cheap, while any one of us Speaks of....:up:
thats pretty beautiful who wrote it j.k. rowling?

1944, the tide of the war is turning and Olivier taps right into that passion to go from the whipping dogs of years before and deliver righteous justice.
Branagh's version (for me) is too quiet and emo for a battleline. Olivier's clearer cadence wins it for me as a speech for soldiers about to do battle. I also like the way that the camera pulls back at the end of Olivier's speech showing a large host of armoured men ready to hack the enemy limb from limb.
Although for speeches from Henry V I prefer speech to the govenor of Harfleur (sadly bowdlerised) here:

and who can forget "Once more unto the breach" speech to his troops prior to the attempt on Harfleur

*bump* - we need to remember where we were and where we can go together!!!!!
