It's all good. We'll take Zion from you guys in 4 years. You know you guys can't hold on to good players for long.:tongue2::2guns:

That kinda comment no longer stings: in today's NBA, no team can hold onto good players for very long.

Also, please tell me this: when was the last time the Houston Rockets landed a big-time free agent (if you say Eric Gordon, I will laugh at you)?

(2017) Chris Paul was essentially a free agent coming to the Rockets. He was going to opt out of his final contract year with LA. He opted into his final contract year with the Clippers ONLY after the Harden recruited him. He had to fit under our cap space.

But, if you don't like that answer...Dwight would be the last big free agent we signed. (2013)

I could see him leaving New Orleans regardless of how successful they are. New Orleans is awesome but a small city is going to have a hard time keeping a huge star that has his choice of any major city in America to play and live in.

With that said l, I doubt he would go to Houston. It’s not necessarily an iconic city.

I'm not gonna get uptight about Zion's stay in New Orleans. I wasn't mad at AD (initially) for wanting to leave. Our front office was garbage. However, we now have a fantastic front office with EVP of Basketball David Griffin and GM Trajan Langdon. We also stole from Phoenix, Aaron Nelson, the preeminent sports medicine guy. We have pretty much all the Lakers' first round picks for the next few years. If they crash and burn (which I expect), those picks could be supremely valuable.

The Pelicans are set up for long-term stability and success. If Zion wants to leave for a big market, that's his prerogative. But he'll be here for the next 5 years for sure, most likely 7. I'm good with that.

Miami just went into Milwaukee and overcame a 21 point deficit to beat the top team in the east..without Jimmy Butler.

Pelicans almost beat the Rockets, on the road, with no Zion or Jrue. We’re 0-3, but I’m feeling good about this squad.

And Brandon Ingram is way more of an alpha dog than AD ever will be.

Both Harden and Gordon are shooting below 30% thru our 2 games. They are shooting below 20% from three. They have both been awful. These should've been 2 blowout wins by the Rockets if Harden and Gordon stop playing like bums.

Shout out to Westbrook though. I cannot believe he has been our best player thru 2 games. He is carrying this team. Harden needs to get his s**t together. This is embarrassing having close games with the Pelicans.

It shouldn’t be that surprising that Westbrook is your best player through 2 games....since Westbrook IS your best player.

He was the alpha over James in OKC, and he will be in Houston too.

I'm liking our start but I need to see the team

    A: Not go down 21
    &
B: Maintain defensive intensity the whole game.

Going to the game tonight: Warriors at Pelicans. Hopefully yesterday's drubbing won't put some fire in their bellies. We need a win. I think we will win. Our second unit is really strong. Their second unit is guys none of us have even heard of!

You actually had me with this. When I hit the "clean the swimming pool" part, I thought wait a minute, could it possibly be the same dude, except he's just such a dumb-ss he forgot that he already gave me the same speech about quarterbacks? And then I got through the end and FINALLY my sarcasm radar went off. LOL.

    Very nice work.

Honestly, it seems like PJ Tucker is the alpha, but I don't care who the alpha is as long as we win. Harden is still averaging 30+ ppg. Westbrook is still averaging a triple double. Hopefully, it continues to lead to winning.

The Hawks close out defense on the perimeter was quite pathetic tonight to say the least. So many shooting fouls behind the line. I wanted to see us play a full game against Trae to see how we fared. Looks like we arent going to see that on Thursday as Trae will be out with an ankle sprain for a few games

Dragic is so important to this team, thank God that trade didn’t go through.

We already know Herro is a HOF lock but I’m wondering how good Nunn can be. I’m thinking very.

He can shoot it and with good coaching he could be an all star eventually imo.

Nunn has a little bit of that Wade swagger.

He can finish and he can shoot. Now he needs to be more careful with the ball and his intensity needs to pick up on defense. I saw him slacking a few times on defense and he also made a few lazy passes. Spo will beat that mentality in to him so I'm not worried.

Imagine waking up today a Knicks or Bulls fan. Years of ineptitude and Miami pulls of someone like Nunn again and Herro looks like the real deal. It's almost comical.

I think it's impressive how Nunn never struggles for very long. Like he might have an off half but he's going to be hitting shots in the second half, and he's going to keep trying. It was that way in Summer League and Preseason as well.

I think he's especially good ball handling in the open, in transition, dealing with aggressive defenders.

When he tries to penetrate the paint when it's full of bodies and arms, that's where he can get into trouble with turnovers. He needs to watch for that because he's just not very big.

As for the passing thing, that seemed systemic as even guys like Butler and Dragic were struggling with it, while the Hawks had gone to trap defense. Basically it was the first time the Heat had seen that sort of defense this year, and they handled it very poorly all the way around. Let's see what happens after 30 more games, though.

I'm glad to be watching the Heat again after laying off the last 4 or 5 years. This team reminds me a bit of the Wade rookie 2003 team.
