I didn't see a thread for this show, so I figured I would start one because it definitely deserves it. Amazing show. I always watched it here and there but not really consistent enough to really appreciate everything that happens. So now I'm catching up and watching the whole series. Some really good unknown acting on there. Anyone else a fan?
Omar was a really good character. I always thought Stringer Bell was the man. I liked McNulty and Bodie too.
Great show. I loved Stringer Bell, Avon Barksdale, Weebay, Slim Charles, Freeman and Dennis "Cutty" Wise. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was that Avon didn't make an appearance in the final episode. I would have liked to see him even if it was for a second next to Weebay and Chris. I actually would have liked to see Avon and his crew finally take out Marlo but I'm just nitpicking.
Just now getting around to watching this show. Season 1 is amazing. Usually try and catch all the HBO shows, so not really sure how I missed this. But loving it so far.
Yeah keep watching it gets much better especially Seasons 3 and 4. I personally think Season 2 is the weakest but that's not to say it wasn't good, because it was.
LOVE the Wire. I'm the biggest Omar Little fan ever... You can begin the gay jokes if you like, but Omar is the man. Get it?
Was a little disappointed with the season premier of season 2. Looking forward to seeing where the show goes, though.
Just keep watching trust me. The first time I watched Season 2 I thought it was only ok and almost quit on the show but don't. Trust me. Seasons 3 and 4 more than make up for it. Plus when I rewatched Season 2 I didn't think it was as bad as I originally thought.
loved this show, i could go one forever mentioning characters i loved on the show.... Bunk, Lester, Snoop, Cutty, WeeBay, Avon, D'Angelo, Stringer, Poot, Herc, Bunny, McNulty, Bubbles... they had an amazing cast and characters, but my most favorites are Michael: He was a G from the start Spoiler Knew how to hustle, box/fight, and he was smart as hell. not to mention taking over where Omar left off Omar: Obvious reasons, the whole being gay thing took me by suprise, but it drew me in more cuz i couldnt believe it. Slim: He was always real, and as mentioned when he took at that snake i loved it. Bodie: Spoiler Even though he was flippin he knew how to hustle and get money, i started to love Bodie when he broke that cops face in season one . He went out like a G to, even though he didnt get any of them. wish he would of. show was amazing. i miss it, im going to start watching it again one of these days.
The Wire I was sick this weekend (I'm all better now, thanks for asking), and watched all of season 1 and most of season 2 of the Wire. Sweet Jesus, that show is amazing!!! I don't know why it took me so long to rent the DVDs.

After hearing about it for a while, finally watched it. Watched all 5 seasons over few weeks. Great show, not necessarily a "happy ending" not everything ends in a happy fairy tale but not all bad either. I loved it. Phenominal show. Omar Little made his way in to my top 3 favorite TV Series Characters, up there with Red Foreman and Ari Gold. [edit] Overall, Omar, Bubbs, Cutty, and Slim were probably my favorites. Bodie up there as well.
What are the freaking odds. Stumbled upon this; http://www.redbubble.com/people/meganlara/works/7752546-omar-comin?p=t-shirt I am ****ing getting me one.
Best show ever IMO. What sets The Wire apart was how prescient of a social commentary it was. From law enforcement to the drug dealers to the politicians to the media to the teachers to the lawyers, the problems that exist are all common. One of the most important scenes in the series:
The Wire is brilliant because it opens a window to the inner city workings in America to which a significant percentage of Americans are completely oblivious. It should almost be mandatory viewing. It is a wake up call. And, it has changed how I live my life because I know am much more involved in the inner city where I live.
