I see why... It's fun to wheel and deal, compete for FA, and draft. It's hard to participate in those things when Peyton is eating 1/5 of the cap. I wonder how much he would go for in F.A.? Would he eclipse his current 14,000,000 mill salary (not going to do it, just wondering out loud)?

Honestly though, I don't see the trade as awful. Heath Miller is NOT as good as people have made him out to be... Pitt can function as well with the other two TE. Lendale White is perfect for the power game the Steelers have lacked. With Willie teaming up with him, it's a potent combo. Plus he gets a pretty good S and picks.

Not sure I agree with you here. He's a helluva in-line blocker and has good hands. He does all the things quietly which is why he doesn't receive the praise that others do. And Willie struggles to stay healthy nowadays, I wouldn't put any bets on him. Yes the addition of LenDale White is nice for a power run game but Willie still gets injured. I think Pitt also acquired Fred Taylor here and he's another guy whose constantly banged up.

Its amazing to me how people forget that Holmes has been non existent half of the yr. Nate Washington was getting most of the long balls during the yr. You take away Ward and Holmes is not a #1. Miller is a great TE. But Spaeth is just as good as 50% of the starting TE's in the league today. If Holmes wouldn't have made that one catch at the end of the game, that was just as much Ben's throwing it in the right spot as it was him making a fantastic catch, this wouldn't even be that big of a discussion. Holmes is a decent, not awesome wr. Moore was a cut in the making. Clark for Griffin is a no brainer IMO. Troy and him are a lethal combo, possibly the best in the league. AND on top of that I got 5 draft picks. And as said before I got the champs, with the cap its hard to stay pat. My Oline is 75% FA's. And I am running a completely new defensive scheme.

I'd be willing to bet that Peyton would go for over 10 mil in free agency. I think Michael Turner went for 8.5 or 9 mil last season. Imagine what a sure fire All Pro like Manning would go for?

he would have done stellar if he was able to become a starting back that season. You just happen to come along when it was obvious he had to be signed.

Moved Whitner who has been above average at times, and disappointing at others for a very good 4-3 OLB (even if he is older) and a solid young WR who can make some plays.

    Fair deal both ways IMO

Yes, but for 2 6ths why not? is there anything better in the draft than Appleby in the late rounds(even though he's a LB'er)?

Contingent upon delivery the Minnesota Vikings agree to this trade.

This trade will be ratified when the "Hot blonde, Pre-Romo Jessica Simpson style girl that doesn't talk, is open minded, and is not the kind you take home for mommy" is delivered to my doorstep.

Whitner played like a pro bowl SS when the Bills were a hot team but they kept losing players to injuries which hurt his play as well. I believe he had nagging injuries. but both parties got who they wanted.

Exactly. I needed a WR who could make some plays, and another LB. Whitner has the potential to be a great player for years to come as well. Now my top three LB's look very solid with Brooking, Posluszny, and Kawika Mitchell.

If I could just get some corners now.

Nah, he's under contract according to NFLPA. He probably has a voidable contract.

NFLPA trumps any free agent site.
