That's pretty much what I meant. He thought he saw something and didn't really give it any time post snap to see if he was right.

Yeah I just needed to unload Kelly Jennings (he was my dime). And Diles is a lot better than people think... 66 tackles, 1 Sack, 1FF, 1 INT in 8games (OLB)

Titans stole that trade IMO. Holmes and Miller are both first round talents, and you got them for what was basically a 1st rounder.

HOWEVER now you have no draft picks  or not a lot anyway.

What are you looking for, for Hope?

Lets not forget I also picked up a great FS in the deal, and I went down on cap. Dont worry I'm not done. :wink2: Miller is by far one of the best TE's in the game, but Spaeth played very good, and Stevens is a quality backup. Holmes is replaceable, IMO.

The Titans need to improve the offense around some of its other parts. There is no way we could have drafted that kind of talent where we were picking. This trade made the most sense to us. We gave up alot however we got two great players and 2 very good players.

Without Santonio Holmes the Steelers don't even get to the Super Bowl IMO. He is an elite talent and can change a game at any moment. Heath Miller is one of the best TE's in the league.

However both teams got what they wanted

This is one of those situations where someone gets the Superbowl winner or a very elite team and can't help but basically blow it up.

Whether it be years past watching the Colts GM trade Peyton Manning away.

In this case the Steelers basically struggling with the cap and having or just wanting to shape the team in their image. It's also a struggle between doing what you think will get you the votes in the end and what you think makes your team better.

It just happens to be easier to ask why did you do that and say why it's wrong then to say, way to pull off a big move.

Though I'm more inclined to say why change so much that wasn't broken?

That's why I like middle of the pack to bottom feeder teams. I can shape the team how I like it and blowing them up is perfectly acceptable.

Agree with you there but why trade away all of your big time players? I mean, at least keep Holmes or Miller.

To be fair I think there is a LOT of room to improve with that offense. But I don't think he exactly went about it the right way.

Hey a good draft would even the trade though.

    Okay a great one

I think had he traded just Miller or Holmes it would have been fine.

Holmes is a first rounder player, Miller is a first round player as well. Yet you end up with one late first round pick. Hate to let the cat out of the bag but....5th/6th/7th round picks aren't very valuable in the GM league. We never get to see these players develope, and can't assume they would help immediately, or hell even say they would pan out down the road.

Late round picks are just fun to look back on a year later and see who you stole.

I think that was a great trade for you. Of course a third rounder can be very helpful depending on who he drafts.

I am loathe to give up draft picks but it was a position of need for me.

I only have about 10 million in cap room so I am hand cuffed from making any more trades that take on salary if I want to make a play in free agency. I had a brilliant strategy yesterday that got shot down in flames by the salary cap.

GM league draft picks work funny anyway. You want to have good young players, but at the same time it's about who can have the best team THIS SEASON. I think last year we voted in a few categories such as 'Brightest Team Future' and stuff like that as well.

I think when you can get a player like Gonzo in GM league you have to, because we don't have to look to next seasons or down the road.

Most years I'd say good trade for the Bengals moving up to #2, but honestly this year there isn't a player I see that is worth trading up for.

If you have a specific player in mind I think that's great  just saying for me, I think the talent dropoff isn't that great and it's better to gather 2nd + 3rd rounders this season.

Solid trade. Needed depth with Hendersons toes. Jones is a versatile LB and will provide great depth. We picked up a high 2nd round pick as well. Great for both sides.
