    That's one way of improving your team (trading your picks for players)... Of course I prefer to dabble in everything... like a buffet.

    Yeah when you can improve yourself thru certain trades than you have to make the move IMO. Also this is a one year league not a 5 or 10 year league. However I think me and Felix have been getting the team much younger while still trying to improve.

    EXACTLY.

    That is why my strategy is the way it is. Next year I will have a different team with a brand new roster. Why not gear up to have the best players THIS year.

    Pretty much. Though I'd like to hope GM's would consider the future in making evaluations on their and others' teams. Otherwise, we might as well not draft. Landing a crew of guys who at best have a year left shouldn't overcome smart drafting and holding onto young players.

    Well last year there were different levels of voting I believe. Like team best set up for the long run. Most improved team, stuff like that.

    I personally just aim for the best overall team for this given season.

    I don't vote on the team most likely to win the Super Bowl.

    I look at teams who improved their roster, were smart with their cap, good depth, and are built for the future as well.

    People can build a one year power house if they'd like, but that doesn't mean they'd get my vote. I know most others are that way as well.

    Yea, it's how I'd vote but I'm pretty sure a good chunk of GM's will vote based on those 1 year powerhouses.

    If this voting is based off of biggest names, I think me and VO are not going to be big winners.

    I agree that you have to build for the future as well. Me and Felix have done our best to bring in YOUNG players who can help for years to come. While we don't have the picks in the draft if you look at who we picked up its hard to argue we were going to get those young guys in the draft where we were drafting. We are building quality depth as well. You cant win at any time without depth.

    You've done a good job at that even with lack of picks. I have enough faith in my drafting to be able to get valuable young depth on a team that sorely needs it, which is why I value my picks. Building depth was something I did pretty well in last year though I never really made any splashy moves. Thought I'd try something a little different this year rather than fly under the radar with my Calvin Johnson offer.

    You don't need a SS. Deon Grant is not bad at all. Alot of teams would not mind having them on there team.

    Not sure if he still has Atari Bigby on his roster but if he doesn't, I think that was a good trade.

    He put a 2nd round tender on Bigby, I believe... I don't see an issue with that anyways:

    Bigby = SS
    Landry = FS

    ahhh... Gish makes his first mistake of the season... sure Landry is a solid safety, but he had Nick Collins... whom he traded away... you heard of apples and oranges... now you've heard of apples and another apple. Guess Gish didn't want to have to worry about being around for that 4th pick this year... now he won't be picking until 56th overall.

    Well I know he wanted to shop that pick bad, and he wanted another pick and a player for it.He got what he wanted, the pick sucks. The trade I offered was way better offer for him. :wink2:

    He can play either or. When Sean Taylor was alive (God Bless his soul) Landry was drafted to play SS and Taylor played FS.

    this was not a mistake. i got what i wanted. of all the needs i have, FS was going to be the hardest to fill. i filled my need and got a mid 3rd round pick which i will use to fill another need. thats not a lateral move, IMO.

    i only traded away Nick Collins because that filled an extra need. So it comes full circle, but with more needs filled.
