Had a chance to do the Dallas trade, But I did not think it was worth it to give up alot of key parts. Good luck to both teams

Man Vikings lose their young Safety and a very good up and coming defensive end.

Safety was hard to swallow. DE is deffinetly talented but we're set there for quite awhile and he'd have to move in the future anyway. Plus we kept Simeon Rice.

Expensive move, more than I'd hope to pay BUT...it got me a young franchise QB with a VERY cap friendly salary (biggest need on this team) to throw to CJ and Berrian. AP carried the ball A LOT las tyear and we want to be able to move it through the air. We created a few small holes but filled the big one. Have to break some eggs to make an omelette :)

Defense isn't going to be the same though. Offense looks unstoppable.

The core components have been kept the same. We still have a nasty pass rush (we'll be able to find a rock to replace Pat), our DB's are almost entact (whether or not that's a good thing is up in the air), and our LB corps has been upgraded so far (not done yet obviously still looking for an OLB) with each move.

It's a give and take. And given the option of making those tweaks vs. finding a true franchise QB...I'd rather fix the tweaks :)

Yep, I bet he makes a HELL of a slot receiver with CJ and berrian :) All the tools that guy and this is the year they break out.

But I don't think move makes sense for the Cowboys. They lose their franchise QB gain a old NT that is going out of his prime, they got a young safety who battles injurys but is a big plus, and Brain Robinson who can't play as a 3-4 DE and will have to learn out to play OLB. Unless Cowboys are moving to a base 4-3 then forget what I said.

robison will play olb in the 3-4...he's 6'3 259...a high motor guy...tyrell seems to "battle injuries" but he's a top notch young safety, and i still have anthony henry as a fs if need be for now...not to mention a true 3-4 nt, which allows me to move jat ratliff to 3-4 de, a position he's better suited imo (yeah i know he made the pro bowl as a 3-4 nt, but still he's a better pash rusher)...

and ive been the biggest romo fan since he was an undrafted free agent...i'll go through free agency and possibly the draft...but it really made me go through the positions of need...you dont need a manning/brady for a competitive offense...my running game is suited for whatever with its oline, and marty looking over

and with the vikes offer, romo had to go...so we'll see...

You have Pat Williams who's heading into his 13th year in the league and potentially wearing down, Brian Robison who hasn't done squat even with Jared Allen and that DT duo and needs to learn a new role. Only redeeming parts of the trade was that #6 overall and Tyrell Johnson.

Man it's crazy how perception can lean hard one way or the other. I was honestly on the fence about this trade. I lost my starting safety, starting DT (he may be old but he's still a beast and all pro), and promising depth at DE. Had I not gotten the picks in return I honestly wouldn't have pulled the trigger on it.

Yeah, I don't think it's as one sided as some here make it out. Do you think Romo is a pro bowl quarterback? After last season, that's a tough question to answer.

Romo is pro bowl caliber. I think what happened last season has reverberated with him (and I don't mean his new dedication is the reason Jessica Simpson ballooned the way my Texas friend claims). He's on the hot seat the way Peyton Manning was and I think he'd respond well.

He still threw 26 TD and 14 int in 13 games (36 TD the year before that). The only real question with Romo is his inability to finish the season strong.

    Very good deal for Minny.

I think the main issue with Romo, is T.O. Just like Eli's was Shockey. You get him away from a player like that I think you will see a different QB.

yeah he'll fit in VERY well here. Great OL, great RB, great WR's. I think he'd certainly flourish under those conditions.

I was thinking the same thing about David Garrard in Tennessee. Garrard was sacked 42 times in Jax while Kerri Collins was sacked just 8 times. It helps to have a great d and great running game

The Panther's were a super bowl caliber team who needed a "safer" option at QB, we found it. When Hasselback is healthy is an upper teir QB, couple that with one of the best ground attacks in the league and baboom!
