The Lions do not match up well with us. Suh versus Berger/Jerry is really the only matchup they might have in their favor. Best is doing better than our RBs right now. That’s pretty much it.

The Packers… well, the Lions nearly beat them. I think we’ll be okay.

Should have hired Tommy Tuberville when we had the chance.

Hell, Tuberville has so much love and respect for this program that he'd probably walk away from Texas Tech if we made him an offer.

After Coker left and things started to go a bit downhill for Tommy at Auburn, I always thought it was a gimme that he'd end up here. He actually has a strong ongoing relationship within the program for the most part. There were some rumors here and there, especially before he took the Texas Tech job, however, more smoke than fire there and that's surprising, IMO.

I don't know if he can take this program back to its Championship reputation, but he'd definitely be kicking the **** out of the ACC at least.

 

So is Vontae Davis.

And Matt Stafford is NOT scary. Dude seems to go out of his way not to connect with Megatron. The Lions passing attack is serviceable at the moment thanks to Shaun Hill.

Tuberville would be an immediate improvement, but I’m not sure he wins anything here.

 

Sun Life Stadium is cursed...I really want one of the MIB guys to so I forget about the last 3 games played at that stadium.

 

If could be anyone why not Kirk Ferentz? Even though there is not a chance in hell that would happen.

The other part of me thinks: "His string of luck will run out and bury the program into oblivion."

 

He'd rock the **** in the ACC though.... you're right, I'm not sure if he's a championship caliber coach. He's a winner though, and we're not going to have a non conference matchup like Ohio State on the schedule on a yearly basis.

Roll over the ACC and you've got a shot most years.

 

They are 6-0. Lucky team.

 

10 years is too long a drought for this program, let alone waiting until after Tuberville is done.

I still think Jon Gruden wins a national title with the Canes in 3 years or less.

 

Shannon still needs to lose 2-3 more games this season for his job to be in serious consideration, IMO. Not by my own personal standards.... I like the guy, but if it were up to me I'd of replaced him a year ago.

As far as 2010 is concerned it's simple to me:

Win the ACC + Win BCS bowl game = stay.
Win the ACC + Lose in BCS Bowl Game = maybe, but probably not.
Fail to win the ACC + Get into a decent bowl game and actually win it = thanks, but bye.
Fail to win the ACC + lose the Toilet Bowl again = **** OFF.

You're not going to get an argument out of me concerning Jon Gruden whether you're talking Dolphins or Canes. I fully endorse Jon Gruden. I just don't see it happening.... financially.

Probably the luckiest back-to-back consecutive wins I've ever seen. What happened last week was more than luck though.... that was disgusting.

 

Shalala and Hocutt have a different scale:

Win the ACC + BCS bowl game = Head Coach 4 Lyfe
Win the ACC + lose BCS bowl game = 3 year extension
Lose the ACC + win 3rd rate bowl game = 1 year extension
Lose the ACC + toilet bowl = “the program is moving in the right direction"

 

The only positive of this all is that it wasn't a Coastal loss

But you know UNC is gonna bring it in a couple weeks.

 

That is why I say they got damn lucky to win the game.
