Well if no one believes that, then fine, we're all in agreement with me, based on what I found objectively. :)

Wonder why the thread went on this long? :headscratch: ;)

Shou...Tannehill looked decent this year with crap at receiver. By crap, I mean solid guys who just don't have the ability to change games, or demand double coverage. I think what people have an issue with, is the idea that adding a true, bonafide number one and a threat at TE would NOT have helped Tannehill. He had a decent year, with a receiving corps that had little downfield threat. It's a silly notion that having better receivers doesn't help a QB play better.

Well, the best objective exploration we have of that as of yet is here:

    http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...ther-Quarterbacks-get-that-Tannehill-Does-Not

...and it says Tannehill's QB rating would've gone up non-significantly.

Shou...I've read all your threads. I've seen you stat that going from a 72 or 76 QBR to an 82-85 QBR isn't "statistically significant." it's BS like that that has people shaking their collective heads at you. If Tannehill was 10 points higher in his QBR, he would most certainly have more yards and TDs, and the Dolphins would almost certainly have more wins...which makes your whole argument pointless. What don't you get about that??

You keep linking people to these other threads of yours...as if we haven't read, and promptly dismissed, them, as the ridiculous drivel that they are.

And that thread you just linked to does not prove what you seem to think it does...

You're welcome to think whatever you'd like about statistical significance. I'll live a long, happy, and productive life even if you and I don't agree about it. :)

And if you consider this "ridiculous drivel," I'll expect this to be your last post here. ;)

Tannehill wasn’t fortunate when it came to hitting wide receivers for touchdowns. No wide receiver on the Dolphins finished with even two touchdown receptions. Tannehill said it meant, “I’ve got to do a better job of throwing touchdowns.”

    http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/s...ns-joe-philbin-says-no-1-priority-is-f/nTjc6/

the above quote from this article.

This is a part of why I like RT, it is more than numbers. There are other quotes like this one from Pouncey:

So is center Mike Pouncey, who added, “We got lucky when we picked that kid.”

Doesnt mean he is it. But you want to compare Henne to RT, Henne didnt have that kind of confidence from his teammates.

He doesnt blame his cast, he doesnt make excuses, he just says it means he has to be better at throwing TDs. He takes responsibilty. no long drawn out excuses, no explanations, just I have to do better.

Argue it til your blue in the face, RT will be your qb next year. I am not going to sit around trying to be right, I am hoping that RT will get it right.

i'm really excited for this offense to add some more dynamic playmakers this offseason, so you can get ready for your apology thread during the upcoming season, but i'm really not confident that i would accept it, since i still feel insulted with the bull**** you try to sell to us for some time now

Sounds good to me. I thought Tannehill should start all year this year, and I think he should start next year as well.

Well you sure don't have to "buy." :)

However, don't expect me to change my "sales pitch" just because you (and others like you) aren't buying. I'm confident in my "product."

And don't expect me to ever apologize. I've done nothing wrong here. If you don't like the stuff I say, put me on your ignore list and never read it again.

Well I will say this, no matter the cast, if he is still at the same level end of next year as he is now, then I will agree with your position.

You're confident in your "sales pitch" (read "statistical analysis") that says that there is no difference between Roddy White/Julio Jones/Tony Gonzalez and Brian Hartline/Davone Bess/Anthony Fasano? Just so we're clear...

I'd say that's a pretty good experiment to conduct. ;)

However, it's also possible that he could add these "playmakers" that everybody talks about, improve significantly, and still have his performance this year be attributable primarily to himself rather than the supposed absence of these playmakers.

mistakes, ie bad decisions, holding the ball too long, not reacting quick enough not seeing the play fast enough are things that you can evaluate him solely on his own merit. He has to improve but did some good things as well. Not enough to clearly say that he is teh answer w/o doubt. But maybe if a wr outside Hartline or bess made a play for him like the 2 Binn clear drops, 1 of which would have been a td and 1 that would have extended a drive on a 4th down play, his td and % would be better. Point is he made mistakes and shown he needs growth, and some of teh drops were on passes that could have been cleaner. But that is normal in the nfl to have a wr catch a ball that isnt perfect, wrs make plays for their qbs all the time. RT missed some plays clearly and needs improvement. But we need to add (didnt say start over with a whole new cast, we need to add a couple pieces so the defense has a harder time taking weapons away, this then limits the potential excuses RT would have. He will have been set up to succeed, to which it will be on him to do what is needed top progress and advance.

My point is and you can disagree, I have sure learned enough in teh past that I have been wrong before, is that I have seen alot from RT that makes me think he will get there, he will reach that level of franchise qb. Not that he will, I think he will. But I also get some are not as sold and that is fine. In the end we are Phin gfans and I dont anyone would cry if RT leads us to a super bowl win.

I tried to post this in Part I, but Tapatalk on my iPad is giving me fits.

Thanks for all the hard work. Don't you think, though, that you need to take into account the low quality of Tannehill's supporting cast in your analysis of his statistics as compared to other quarterbacks'?

How can we know, for example, that Tanny wasn't asked to go downfield, but it took so long for the receiver to get there that he had to delay making the decision of where he was going, and in the meantime people who came through the turnstiles were so close to smacking him in the chops that he had to dump it off short?
