I'm gaining on you guys, going to get that 100 yet. I"m guessing it's weighted on who gives you thanks, but it seems a lot of folks have an 8-10 to 1 ratio with thanks to rep points. I'm way off that pace am I getting neg repped? Can you go backwards in points?
Happy Birthday Kenny! Happy Birthday Kenny! Happy Birthday Kenny! Don't worry, your on 69. Your lucky - and no I don't mean him -.
There is also a rep button on the side of the screen under your name. Its got like a green + mark and a football. I just gave you some positive rep and you went from 54 to 55. I think that is a secret not many people use including myself. I usually just give thanks because that way a person earns their rank by making more useful posts. BTW if someone could try out that rep button to pay me back that would be great, but make sure to give me positive rep.
Okay well I did get rep. I guess you were just one rep away from 55 anyway. I guess there goes my theory and I guess I prefer thanks as it bolsters my e-ego.
I've actually figured out the mathematical formula for rep. Mainly because I'm a geek with way too much spare time on his hands. Here's how it works: First, take your post count. In my case, my post count right now is 4446. Next, open up your User CP from the link in the top left hand side. By default, it will open up to your Latest Reputation page. In my case, that number right now is 8847. Add up your post count and your reputation. For this exercise, we are adding up 4446 + 8847. Next, divide the sum of those two numbers by 100. For this exercise, 4446 + 8847 = 13293. After the division it comes out to 132.93. Our rep isn't based on fractions, so you simply round it up or down. So mine right now is 133. One thing I haven't figured out is if blog posts count towards your rep, and if they do, how they are factored in. But most folks don't really use it all that much, so you should be able to ballpark where you stand using the formula up top. ((Posts + Rep Points) / 100) You'll also be able to judge exactly when you move from one level to the next using this formula, and it's relatively accurate.
sooooooo lets rename this to the "rep 200+ club" ....this is club is easier to get in to than brittney spears......
All are welcome in the Rep Power 100 Club!!!!!!!! unless u have rep less than 100, which means you suck and no one likes you.
