    Rehab! Rehab!

Let me say though, Mallet can play in the NFL and it would not surprise me if he plays at a high level as he reminds me of Phillip Rivers, who was never confused with a wonderful athlete, same attitude, father was a coach etc.

IMHO 90% of being a successful NFL Qb is to know when to take shots, and who will make a play for you, Mallett did both in AR and the pats have 2 young Te's who can approximate Williams.

The good thing is that Nick Foles will be your new Dolphins QB by then.

My goodness, I hope not, Foles is not a very good Qb prospect imho.

If NE is seemingly tuggin at his peter so much, why did they pass on him 4 times before finally taking him?

Mallett will become the first guy in NFL history to snort the goal line.

Lets compare the Patriots success with ours drafting Qbs and come up with witty remarks. Mallet is going to be a good NFL Qb, I hope Henne plays well for us but the Pats know what they are doing. There was no reason for them to invest a 3rd in Mallet ....unless of course they know Qbs and how to groom them.....

Have you heard of a guy called Michael Irvin? I think he tried it numerous times and actually did it once.

If they know QBs, then they wouldn't have waited till the 6th round to draft Brady. Just sayin.

Weird, to me its another sign that they know what they are doing. They didn't need Brady, they had Drew Bledsoe and they took a guy because they saw value in him and potential. Sound familiar?

Yes, but the field he played on was astro turf.

Big difference in the height of the lines............, and if you've ever been to Dallas you'll get that one.

Yeah , real weird, they saw potential in Kevin O'Connell as well, and they took him in rd #3 and he lasted a yr, sound familiar?

They weren't going to draft him at all. There was never a plan to draft Brady late, or at all. Someone in the draft room said to take a shot on the guy and they did.

Ever here of a guy named Walsh? Drafted a kid named Montana in the 3rd and later traded for a castoff off the scrap pile named Young.

History is full of people playing it safe, funny though, they never seem to get to the point of winning it all! Marrying the Prom Queen, having success whatever they do, and living the good life!

Point to Belichick's mistakes all you want, he's got 3 SB rings and 8 Division titles while we .......... Get the picture! I sure wouldn't sell Billy boy short - if Mallett has it in him Billy will get it out of him or he'll be dog meat!

Sure. They knew he would be there ;)

They do have a knack for developing QBs. Well at least two. Brady and Cassel. In the 7th round I might add, for Cassel. Who had a bad first year but a really good second year in KC.

No, that wasn't the point of my reference. I meant that they did not need to draft a QB. So their #1 rated QB kept getting passed up by them because ... well you have TB! In the 3rd they said ok, here is our #1 rated QB in the 3rd round. Let's get him.

That's not true. They were going to take a quarterback. It was going to be Tim Rattay or Tom Brady. Belichick studied those two, as did Dick Rehbein, and the final board had Brady ranked ahead of Rattay so they drafted him. Someone did say to take him (both Belichick and Rehbein said that there was too much value there and they agreed to take him).
