about the stable: 1) Pennington may have a quiet demeanor & there is little spoken on his behalf (mostly not to take away from Henne or create controversy) but Chad the Elder is never a moot point if he's healthy enough to throw the ball Chad Pennington has another season left to play & he will do so if Henne falls short 2) we have in Thigpen a young, healthy, starting-quality QB w/ great promise playing backup awaiting his chance to shine. he has more experience than Henne & better mobility his arm may not be as strong but he is accurate in his passing, not restricted to the pocket & can get it down field on the run in his own head, he sees himself as "the Man" he could step up having said this 3) I do not diminish Chad Henne in any way & am hoping he exceeds potential, arriving as the heir-apparent to Marino leading us to the SuperBowl that Dan fell short of winning I believe the IceMan has both the potential & in 2010 the opportunity for greatness. however, he has to do it & do it now no more excuses, the offense is loaded & ready to play ball 4) we have, quite possibly, the best QB stable the NFL 5) I believe Pat White is misused as a conventional QB. he is a great prospect for the unconventional systems. his athleticism & versatility, knowledge of the game & ability to run harbor potential for a creative coaching cadre. unfortunately, I see nothing that would lead me to believe that he would be used in a multi-purpose role. we will not go to a SuperBowl w/o the franchise-quality QB in play
its funny but i keep forgetting that pennington is even on this team. love the fact there isnt any controversy
Friend adamprez2003: controversy is a bad thing. competition is a good thing. support & team work are important. what we have is a quiet, cooperative effort to move forward Chad Henne must produce he needs to start in pre-season & open up the regular season impressively if he is not up to par & the team not winning he will be replaced by game four contrary to popular belief the game is all about winning & no body has been ordained we will contend in 2010 the ReConstruction is complete now we play for the BigEnchilada
we will succeed if the IceMan steps up he's got to get it right from game one. the real question is not can he do it but will he do it. if he does not start strong he will be replaced by game four. Pennington is a Proven commodity & Thigpen awaits he's chance in great anticipation. this is not the year to not get it right @ QB. by the way: too much made over Pennington's injury. by game four he'll be back in the saddle. he's probably good enough to play tomorrow. much of what is bantered around is for the benefit of avoiding controversy to maintain stability in the stable Chad the Elder is firmly in Henne's corner but would step up in a heart beat if needed. we need the Franchise QB to make a SuperBowl run
Henne has the real potential to be the franchise quarterback here. But Steve Ross is crazy to say that he'll be better than Dan the Man.
question: what is important a Marino Super-QB or a team w/a solid Franchise QB & a team he can take to & win @ the SuperBowl? it is what it is... we don't need another Marino. we need a Franchise QB that can lead us to a victory in the SuperBowl.
