Three reasons... A) His price tag is probably too high B) His cap hit is way too high C) Because **** you, that's why
no it's not. an average tight end (38 recepts for a whopping 396 yards) is not the same as a solid pass rusher who posted double digit sacks.
Having similar problem with MJD and he's about half the salary. Not that MJD is a must to trade, but I thought I'd see what 's out there. I feel like everyone is trying to get space for FA...surprise surprise to the rookies when they find out people lose their **** in free agency.
I love Chris Long... always have... I was just curious what I could get for him on the trade market. Apparently jack and ****. Which is okay... just surprising that's all.
ding ding, winner winner chicken dinner. Once you start accepting the reasonable offers from other GMs you'll be able to move some salary.
People also need to remember that they must have enough space for their draft picks too... draft pick salary hits went up big time this year because we switched to cap hits instead of base salaries.
It's always fascinated me that the QBs and WRs in this league are worth as much as they are, but the defensive guys don't get any love. Especially the DEs. It's whatever ... I have no plans to do anything with Allen, even with a 17 mil price tag.
As a new GM I need to study lasts years FA. What do you guys think Mark Anderson would have for in FA if I didn't trade for him?
probably $4 to 5m? I mean the cap is much higher than it's been at any point in the GML history... so higher cap, more money per player. Just the way it's going to be. It doesn't have anything to do with teams having less cap room.... higher the cap limit, higher the salary average in free agency.
Somewhat valid point. I think he's had a tough run on injuries but has also not been pushed back: he's played on two losing teams the last two years and there's been no need to rush him back. His production has been fine when he's played.
Marcedes Lewis for a 2nd rounder? Damn and here I was hemming and hawwing over a 3rd. Nice job Jags you just got Tony Gonzalez value ;p Guess it's easy to overpay when you have so many 2nds ;p
Lewis went for a third last year in this league...and he had a much better season this year, finished real strong. If the Chargers want to run two TEs like the Pats, they have a solid combo. That being said, I'm happy to get a 2nd for Lewis. He wasn't part of my long-term plans.
I thought that was a very fair deal A 2nd and 3 developmental(ly challenged?) players For a proven deep threat. I imagine this trade took a while.
Really? I thought it was a fantastic deal for them. Not to mention, a player like Smith has more value to a team like Miami bc they need that deep threat so bad. Now he won't have to overspend for Wallace or make a speed WR a priority in the draft.
