The question now is... do I add Ray Rice/Matt Forte to a tandem with Arian Foster or do I bring in non-exclusive WR. Oh so many options
I just think it's terrible that we have those exclusive franchise tags... it's like there's no trust anymore. Why would I want to put together an offense with Brees and Foster, or Wallace and Foster. It's not like I would ever rob the Texans of both Mario Williams and Arian Foster...
I love the fact I don't have to worry about getting Manning'ed for Wallace. Wr's are like gold in this league!
My Photoshop skills suck, but using a Scumbag Steve with Manning and a "Gets paid 38 Million in GML, Sits out season" Would be ****ing gold.
even with the non-exclusive tag isn't it up to E if he wants to let Mario go? Doesn't he have the option of accepting pick compensation or paying him his franchise amount? Or is it---- E would have the option of either matching the highest bidder or accepting the compensation picks?
With the non-exclusive tag... E would get the option of matching the highest bid on Williams or take the two first round picks of compensation.
GIK, PSG, it's good to see we could work out a 3 team deal. I know GIK's rubbin one out as we speak, or at least wiping himself off.
Both Solid players, but Byrd hasn't had the kind of impact since his what 9 INT rookie season and Chris Long is steady but Von Miller has shown an impact that a really special players makes. Nothing against his cheap hit during the playoffs... it's frustration, he's young it happens.
Byrd's one of the NFL's top ball hawks if he's allowed to be. A FS can't do much if opposing QBs have all day to throw with little pass rush in their face like Buffalo's defense saw all 2011. That's why priority 1a & 1b are essentially pass rushers for them. I'm not sure I agree with Long being "steady". Respectfully, I hope you've watched him recently and aren't going by his 1st or 2nd year in the league b/c he's blossomed into a dominant player, a stud pass rusher to go along with his effectiveness vs the run. He's easily one of the top 3 down strong side DEs IMO (or will be this season if he already isn't), and he has little to no weaknesses IMO. He was a #2 pick just like Miller, and he's now proving to be worth it. Not to mention, it frees up PSG's ability to be less restricted by Dumervil b/c Ayers can probably move to his natural RDE spot where he was a stud at TN. A potential $14 million in savings factors into it, too. The one draw back with Miller I have is worrying about him getting injured (as he already has been) and similarly to how Clay Matthews is frequently dinged up in a similar role.
Byrd has gotten 1 int in his sophmore year and 3 ints last year. I wouldn't exactly call that ball hawking but he is a good coverage guy and makes a lot of tackles Like I said he's good, but not the game changer he was in his first year. When the bills were really hot on defense I saw Bryan Scott doing more. Yeah Chris Long has picked up his game, but I wouldn't put him at a level like Jared Allen or Julius Pepper. He had 13 sacks, 5 of them came between two games, 3 in that Saints game. Mind you it's not all sack numbers but against teams with good lines he wasn't the disruptive force you want to make him out to be.
Chris long is a beast. That st Louis defense has him and laurinaitis and not much else and he still managed 13 sacks. I would take him over von miller without thinking twice. I like that deal for PSG
Thanks, I love the deal too. And yes, I have created a hole at LB, but the will be fixed shortly......
I disagree about Long over Miller. Miller was only a rookie this season and still played at a level were he could have won DPOY. Bills won that trade, imo.
Buffalo had no pass rush. None. Go on Buffalo boards and see what they say about QBs constantly having 10 seconds to hold the ball and how terrible it made their DBs appear. Why would QBs throw many picks when they rarely have to force throws? Force a QB to throw under 3 seconds again and watch how fast Byrd's INTs jump back up. He didn't lead the NFL as a rookie b/c of sheer luck. When you're terrible on 1st down vs the run AND you have no pass rush, you're likely to not see very many INTs. Even Reed would have problems b/c offenses would have enough time to avoid him. I'd take Long and his consistency over Peppers any day of the week. A. how many sacks did Peppers have. B. "Not disruptive against good lines?" You mentioned the 3 sacks vs the Saints and then say he's not disruptive vs good lines. Respectfully, when did the Saints become cream puffs? 3 Pro Bowlers? Arguably the top line in the NFL. ??? I'd say Long's 3 sacks IN A WIN vs the Saints with little inside help at DT is validation that he is in fact a beast... and will only become even more so. I'd say his pressure helped beat NO. If I didn't want to switch to a 34, there was no way I was letting him go.
To Schisno's credit, the Saints tackles have had issues this season. Jermon Bushrod was definitely not worth a Pro Bowl invitation. No one will convince me of that.
