I'll believe it when I see it.

Even the Showtime lakers were predicated on protecting the paint, and played the defensive system you see with the heat today.

    and?

oh..they don;t think so...so I guess we will just forfeit the season.

oh wait. Vegas thinks we are the favorites. I guess we will play the games then.

All of the doubters are setting it up for one obnoxious I told you so over the next several years.

If you consider one ring , hell even two with this mini dream team a success then something is wrong.

This is the biggest single case of "player stacking" I have ever seen they are expected to win multiple titles the louder uproar will be when they dont win rather than when they do.

These guys have put a 3 championship burden on their backs atleast.

exactly, the heat are that good. in fact our team is so stacked, calling our second best player "pippen" is considered to be an insult.

damn, i love being a heat fan

Hmm I don't know if they have a disappointing first season I could see this going south. Would I go to Vegas and bet my next paycheck on it? Nope but the pressure is huge and really Wade is the only one I'd really count on in the clutch with huge pressure on. Its going to be national news if this team loses 2 in a row or loses by more than 10.

Kobe probably sees the next 3 years as his chance to prove that he is the greatest player of all time....if he beats the Heat once or twice he might have a legit claim there.....it will be interesting to watch for sure.

If Orlando can get CPIII, they could make a run at the Heat. Other then that, IMO the heat have it locked up in the East.

I have already put the "happy" meter at 3 championships with the Big three.

everything else past the 3 rings, I consider gravy.

and to be honest..I think that they can win 5...or MORE.

and the odds of them having a disappointing season in year one are remote.

ONLY injury can keep them from the Finals.

As objective as I can be, I would only "allow" them to lose a series to the Lakers. That is the list. If they are completely healthy of course.

Well disappointing for the Heat would be not having the best record in the NBA, 3 All Star starters and not beating teams by an average of 10 pts a game. With their roster the expectations are way beyond any team in the league.

Injuries happen all the time, one of the big three will more than likely miss a good portion of a season over the next 3 years it just happens.

I could see a team with an all start caliber point guard and big man giving this team fits, I still think LA has a great shot at the title next year.

There is only ONE such team in the league...Orlando. and we OWN Dwight Howard...so what you are saying is that nobody matches up with us.

Like I said..it is the Lakers...that's the list.

I do agree with this. You guys are a serious matchup issue. This is why I am fully on board the CP3 to NY bandwagon. Hes the guy who would be a matchup issue for your team. Well he and if we got a 2nd quality interior big who gives us a decisive defensive and rebounding advantage.

Well right now I'd say Orlando is it but there are still a lot of trades to be made, drafts every year. If Miami dominates the East you'll see all the GMs making moves to match up better. The Gasol/Kobe duo is a good matchup against the Heats team IMO.

This should make you feel better......

I am told that Melo to New York is a lock.

I was told that a year ago.

Still feel confident though..we have a great defensive system, we defend no matter who is there

Ive been pretty sure of this for a while. Same source you had for Lebron? Did they say when (this year or next offseason)?

The one thing that worries me about Melo is his shot volume. He will have to become a better percentage shooter in D'Antoni's offense. I also wonder if he can play the two so the Knicks could use Gallo at the three and Amar'e at the 4 with a true center even if that meant taking an Okafor back....

Not the same source...but it is through the same source.

This info is of the UNIMPEACHABLE kind. Straight from the horses mouth.

My source has been right all along. I thought he was crazy when he told me it was between Cleveland and Miami on June 30th (for Lebron) and forget everybody else.

He swears to me that Melo has told everybody that will listen that he wants to Play in New York, that he loves D'Antoni, and that all that stops him, is how he "gets there".

Well...he can "get there" rather easily now.

I would be SHOCKED if he doesn't play for the Knicks by this trade deadline or next season as a FA.

Let me repeat myself. DO NOT play this game.....TRADE FOR HIM NOW. Show Denver your roster and say..."here..everybody except Amare is available..take your pick".

I laughed at you New Yorkers for damn near two years over this Lebron thing..I was sure he was not going to be a Knick...

    This is the opposite.

As for him playing the #2...NO WAY.

IMO..Melo is the BEST offensive player in basketball...PERIOD. WITH NO EQUAL. Sorry Mr. Durant..you are just not close.

Nobody has the overall offensive game that Melo has. Pat Riley shares this view with me.

You don;t mess with that by adding defensive responsibilities.

You play him at the #3..get a good ball handler/shooter at the #1...a straight up thug defender at the #2..Amare and a shot blocker down low....voila...ECF's.

Really? You would take Melo over Durant as the best offensive player in the NBA? Lebron? Kobe? Wade? I mean don't get me wrong, I love Melo..he and Gallo are my two favorite players in the league right now. But the fact he takes more shot per minute (last year) doesn't tilt the stats for you? He shoots around the league FG% (he shot 45.3% last year to 45.8% for the league. Id love to hear this.

The only way I could see moving Gallo would be for a potentially great defensive stud center like Oden or maybe one of handful of other players. There are very few bigs who could fit this system as well and make it work and I think enough of Oden as a defensive presence that he's one of the few.

Not trying to put words in Section's mouth, but I think he meant as an all around offensive player, he's probably the best.

Hmm Melo in NY would be a good fit, I would think that would be where he wants to play. If they could get a team with CP3 orParker/Amare/Melo they'd be right there with the Heat IMO. The only person that could screw that up would be Isiah.........sorry New York......

    This.

There is no player in the league that can score in as many ways that Melo can.

He is also a very good rebounder as a #3.

he is the complete offensive package.

In comparison, Durant has no post game, while Melo has the best post game outside of the power positions in the NBA. Durant does not put the ball on the floor as well as Melo either.

and we all know how clutch Melo is as well.

Which is why he's such a perfect fit for Orlando, imo. He's the scorer we needed to bring us a ring.

Stoudamire and Anthony are going to make a great combo.

Antoine Walker is trying to work his way back onto an NBA roster, and his uncle said that "four to six" teams are interested in the 34-year-old former All-Star.

Walker has been working out with coach Rick Pitino and has reportedly lost 20 pounds, but it seems unlikely that we'll see him in the NBA again. He has had a recent spate of problems, including a DUI charge, gambling debt, bum real estate deals, and a bankruptcy filing in May.

    bad luck I guess....
