He was hated before he had a chance to play in the postseason. No, it's not laughable at all. Ginn's biggest sin on draft day was not being Brady Quinn and the stupid Cameron comments after his drafting. That's it. People eventually got over it and gave Ginn about as fair a chance as one could expect from the #9 overall pick. He blew it. It wasn't until the end of Ginn's second season that people truly soured on him, and his play in his third season sealed his fate. Very few people here were sad to see him go, but even then there wasn't any lingering hatred over his not being Brady Quinn. (Though KB still hates Ted Ginn for not being Patrick Willis.) Everything Section has said about Knicks fans is true.
the only knocks against Arod were self induced. the guy had a penchant for not hitting in the clutch when he started playing for us. there was no anymosity towards him when he was signed initially. its only after he failed to validate his contract that people soured on him. arod didnt justify his contract until 2009 when he finally had a great postseason.
This is actually the best news I could have. From a rational perspective, this will give the Knicks time to find a way to get Melo first which is what we need. What the Knicks need is Melo via free agency and then CP3 and ill take Okafor then via trade. Hang on to the two most important assets that way (Gallinari and Amare) and let Randolph's value blow up a bit in D'Antoni's offense. I'll wait til next summer no problem if means I can get Melo and Cp3 because CP3 alone or even with Okafor still isnt getting the Knicks past Miami. But with CP3-Gallo-Melo-Amare-Okafor I think that could be a real good matchup. As far as arrogance though...LeBatard can speak all about arrogance on a first hand account. Never been a big fan of his though he is accurate on things basketball related. Thanks chief. I still have nightmare and dreams about Charles Smith too...both him missing and then me knocking him out I dont think its possible for Isiah to beat the arrogance out of all Knicks fans even as bad as he was. Thanks dude. I know Fin-O isnt perfect but take it easy on the guy. He's good peoples, just like I consider you or HD or section cool brothers even though youre heat fans, even if Fin-O is more brash then I am. Regarding New York I think what you're misinterpreting for arrogance may have more to do with other factors. The attitude isn't so much "We're New York, its your privilege to play here". Its more "It's the most intense sports city in the US and if your as good as you think you are, prove it". And I do truly believe NY is the most intense sports city in the US across the four majors. The ones babbling about "the mecca" and "he'll play here because it's new york, how can you not want to play here?" are generally the ones with no clue from my experience.
Desides thats a personal attack.....you hater! And yeah, Im an arrogant Knicks fan because I dislike the way Prince Pippen II handled his "decision" so line me up with about 80% of the world in that regard. Never once have I talked up the Knicks and downed the Heat, Im a Wade fan always will be....but because I laugh at Delonte's step son Im an arrogant Knick fan? Get real kid.
such hatred. Prince Pippen....Delonte's step son....nice. had he signed with your team..you would be kissing his ***. THAT is the point.
He's not wrong. Bosh even tweeted that Lebron's team probably would handle things differently the next time through. I know quite a few Knick fans that are quite ticked with LBJ, myself included after being led to believe over the last few years that lebron wanted to come here. Its kinda like a hot girl inviting you over and not getting laid. Not that I ever had that happen.... Anyway here's bosh's tweet from a couple of days ago: @darrenrovell1: LeBron's team might have done things a little differently if they had to do it over again says @chrisbosh In other news: - Knicks deny that Wilson Chandler for Rudy Fernandez has been discussed. Portland doesnt want Chandler and the Knicks dont want Fernandez at that price. Fernandez still wants out though - Mike Dunleavy JR and TJ Ford are reportedly on the block. Both have decent size expiring deals. My guess has Walsh involved somehow with his old team. - Eddie House to Miami - Knicks monitoring the Shannon Brown situation as they like him as a guy who could compete with Bill Walker for a 6th man role.
You're trolling Heat fans and bashing LBJ simply because he didn't sign with your Knicks. That's it. You hoped he would come to your team, he didn't, and you started lashing out, as if you had some sort of guarantee that LeBron would come to the Knicks and he violated that. He didn't. Why do we have to suffer through your reality check? You are the opposite of Boik right now.
Ok...but here's the deal. Wearing a Yankees hat and hanging with Jay Z does not qualify as leading Knicks fans on. He said he liked NY, well alot of people like NY. Its a happening city. Lets be honest though.....no city in the country is as nice or celeb friendly as Miami or LA. And the Hot girl reference can be used both ways brotha. You guys got Lebron whooped without even getting the Lebron.
Oh I wasnt even referring to that. I was referring to things like hanging with CC Sabathia around Yankee Stadium on a semi regular basis, telling Gallinari he was going to be keeping a close eye on him leading up to the summer of 10, and publicly stating he loved playing in MSG. Things that actually happened not just rumors or conjecture. Thats alright though..hes gonna get his. Melo, then CP3 and Okafor. The Knicks will rise again
You do realize I'm not talking about expressing a negative opinion backed by substance, but rather pointing out instances of trolling fueled by an overemotional reaction, right?
Ahem... Boston Celtics: 17 NBA Championship Titles, 21 Conference Titles Los Angeles Lakers: 16 NBA Championship Titles, 31 Conference Titles Chicago Bulls: 6 NBA Championship Titles, 6 Conference Titles San Antonio Spurs: 4 NBA Championship Titles, 4 Conference Titles Golden State Warriors: 2 NBA Championship Titles, 4 Conference Titles Detroit Pistons: 3 NBA Championship Titles, 5 Conference Titles Houston Rockets, 2 NBA Championships, 4 Conference Titles New York Knicks, 2 NBA Championships, 8 Conference Titles Miami Heat, 1 NBA Championship, 1 Conference Title The Golden State F'N Warriors have more historical relevance to the league than the Heat do. Even if they win three championships with this squad, thy won't even touch the Bulls, let alone the crown jewels of the NBA in the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers. But thanks for the laugh.
I will give credit where it is due. Until the Lakers are beat they are the champs. But time is running out.
The fear is palpable. It is oozing through my screen. 3 championships? pfffft. How bout we do a count from the time you were born? (8) How bout a count from the time you could understand what you were watching? (5) then lets talk in about 8 years. lets be generous and go with a general number. The last 30 years. The lakers have 10. Bulls Have 6. Celtics have 4. That is the group we are shooting for. btw..the Heat has been around for 22 years. want to do a count from their inception? Doesn't look so impressive now huh? Doesn't look insurmountable.
So let me get this straight...I have only ben able to comprehend basketball since the 2000 season...when I was still an adult? Fuzzy math indeed. And it doesn't matter from when the time I can remember or not (and for the record, the 1987 season is probably the best indicator of when I started to grasp sports and develop fandom...the next year my Dodgers won the World Series and it stands as probably my favorite sports memory of all time, so yes, the 1987 would count by your twisted formula). But the fact still remains that whenever I was born on accountof my parents knockin' boots has absolutely no bearing on where the Lakers or Celtics stand in the history of the game. They are Number 1 and Number 2. You can make an argument for which one is which, but that is the only argument you can make. The Heat are but a tiny spec in the NBA universe up until this point and time. To be honest...it took a Laker to construct their only championship team and it took a Laker to put you over the top. But again, The Heat are nowhere near the top of the league and historically, they are lucky if they break the top ten. And I hate to break it to you, but if the Heat win three titles, that still only puts their franchise total at four, and as much as you would like to re-write NBA history, that still puts them WAAAAAAAAAAAAY (count the A's) behind the leaderboard. The Heat are John Daly to the Lakers/Celtics Woods/Mickelson.
Had he NOT signed with your team you would be *****ing about him also, along with your sidekicks... And that is the point.
Your on the same level as Section and that High dude....blinded by red and black glasses pretending even if Lebron didnt sign with Miami you would still be praising him.....GTFOH Now everyone who has anything bad to say about him is a "hater" Read this real slow one more time..... Lebron's antics were nonsense and he handled it like a diva, even if he signed with NY their would be no denying his premadonna actions. NOW ofcourse if he was a Knick I would forgive him in a heartbeat but he is not...so I call it like I see it. He doesnt want to be the man. And you know what that's fine. But bottom line is he perfers to be a Pippen to Wade's Jordan....if that nets 3-4 rings then Im sure it will be worth it, but he has given up his right to be mentioned along the lines of a Kobe because he did it while being the MAN, not forming a dream team out of desperation that you may never kiss a gold trophy.
dude..enjoy your decade of irrelevance. This is precisely what Desides was talking about. you are projecting your behavior onto us, and it is just not so.
It's all fun...but with the Knicks fans...I would be lying if I said that we Heat fans are not taking a little extra pleasure in the events that have transpired.
Thats ridiculous. He'll surprass Kobe, because he doesn't need to convince anyone he is the man. His play on the court will show how much of the "man" he is. He doesn't have to whine and cry about not having enough talent on his team. He doesn't need anyone to do anything for him. He controls his own destiny. When he is dropping 25-15-10, a lot of people are going to have egg on their face. In regards to his "primadonna" antics, those antics have made the NBA relevant again.
I take exception to the accusation that I would be biased b/c you admit that you are. Don't assume I have those same short-comings. I would have criticized LBJ for not signing with Miami only b/c it clearly gave him the best chance to win. I would have understood Chicago b/c I also thought it gave him a decent chance at winning. Since he has said that winning is his #1 goal those choices would have been consistent with what he has said all along. I would have understood Cleveland b/c it would have been all about loyalty. It would have been at the expense of winning but I could understand and respect somebody for valuing loyalty above winning. NY or NJ would have been all about money or fame so I would have respected either of those decisions the least. That was my belief before he made his decision and since I value my own ability to assess matters objectively, that would have been my opinion regardless of which team he chose.
IMO the Miami Heat is a major player in the NBA today, but is clearly a bit player in regards to the history of the NBA. But that is hardly surprising since they are a relatively young franchise compared to the other teams on that list. I do expect that over the next 10 years Miami will be 3rd or 4th on that list. At that point they will no longer be considered a bit player in historical terms. And in terms of success, their championship/years played ratio will probably be among the best in league history.
I only had two objections to lebron signing with Miami. One is that it wasn't the knicks and I would have been upset with any team that wasn't the knicks. Two is that why should a top three player need to choose a destination based on "his best chance to win"? He should be the reason his team wins not fond the need to piggyback on wade. It speaks to his lack of confidence in himself to get it done. I know he suffered from a lack of help in Cleveland but to choose a destination based on that alone is kinda punk in my opinion. If he would have chose the knicks based on that I'd be happy but I think I would still feel the same way. Kobe or wade would never have done that in my opinion
Because that's how the NBA is structured. Jordan didn't win by himself; Magic came out of college because he had the chance to play for a Lakers team that already had Hall of Famers on it; and Larry Bird also had HoFers on his team. This "LeBron should win by himself" stuff is just a binky that the national media is clinging to as a way to denigrate LeBron for not choosing the Knicks or Bulls, the two teams the national media wanted him to choose between. You cannot win by yourself in the NBA. Michael Jordan found that out the hard way. Why expect LeBron to, other than a desire to not see this Heat team succeed?
I said for months maybe more then a year he would leave Cleveland because they didn't have the cap flexibility to get him the help he needs. I am fully aware that you can't win in the nba by yourself. Again my problem wasn't solely that he chose Miami but that he was content playing second fiddle to wade. And you know as well as I do that it will always be wades team. Jordan had chances to leave Chicago for more talented pastures but he had the swagger to believe he could get it done. By choosing Miami lebron has lost every right to compare himself to Jordan because Jordan was the man. Lebron either dis not want that challenge or gave up believing he could handle it.
The only people who think LeBron is playing second fiddle reside in New York and Chicago. Miami loves Wade. Miami loves the fact that Wade brought in Bosh and LeBron. But Miami also loves Bosh and LeBron. We have room in our hearts and wallets for more than one elite basketball player. To put it in semi-accurate football terms, LeBron is not playing Jay Fiedler to Wade's Dan Marino, but is playing Ricky to Wade's Ronnie.
Jordan became an outright free agent after winning his first championship. So what more talented pastures was he going to leave to?
By all accounts here, everyone who isnt a Heat fan, is now HATING on LBJ because he chose the best chance to win and not the best chance at getting famous and making a billion dollars. I couldnt count the amount of times you hypocrites have pointed and laughed at athletes in every sport who decided to take the money and not worry about winning. Now you are ridiculing a man, who by the way, has been the MVP of the NBA the last two seasons, for picking winning over money and playing with some of his best friends. LBJ doesnt need to be the man, he already is. He wants to win and he knew that wherever his friends were going was the best place to achieve that. He would have gone to chicago or stayed in cleveland, if his friends came too. If LBJ spent eternity in cleveland winning only MVP's would that make his legacy any different than what you all are pinning on him now? Those of you who are haters or jealous because the guy didnt pick your team...oh go cry in the corner somewhere. This guy is the type of athlete most of us pray for to be on our team because most of all he wants to win and he is willing to accept that he needs help doing it...It is a TEAM game after all.
