- nets name Billy King as Rod Thorn's successor. Poor choice by an intelligent GM (Thorn). - Knicks pursuing Josh Howard which makes me believe a deal sending Wilson Chandler somewhere is in the works. - Nuggets sign Al "not sharrington" Harrington. May as well send Melo to NY now...another loose cannon with JR smith? why? - Kyle Lowry received 4yr/24M offer sheet from Cavs..Houston rumored to be intending to match - Shaun Livingston signs 2yr/7M deal with Bobcats. Good for him. Has come a long way after multiple knee issues and played well down the stretch. 15ppg/6APG/5RPG over last month or so. - Hawks may send Marvin Williams to cavs for Shaq. Why they'd do something so dumb I cant explain. - Looks like Jefferson and raja Bell going to Spurs
I wonder if the Knicks are pursuing Josh Howard so that Wilson Chandler has someone to blaze with? Howard should just move in next to Rasheed now that he's retired...
Me and Source call that site "Poopworld" and it is common knowledge that a bunch of 14 year olds run that site.
Btw, that quote in your signature should be put to use. You should let go of the Timberwolves franchise, they will only give you gray hairs.
I told you this last week via text message. Stoopid. Kurt Thomas looks like he may end up with the Lakers and Shannon Brown looks to re-up. Surprising, but him and Steve Blake manning the second team backcourt is pretti intriguing to me.
Is anyone watching the Summer league? I have admittedly, only been eyeballing the Laker rookies. Derrick Caracter has looked pretty damn good so far. Through four, Derrick has put up 16.8 points a night on 60.4% shooting with 9.3 boards and 1.5 blocks a game. The problem is, of course, as a second round pick, he may find more money and opportunity playing international ball. But if he stays with L.A., I think they kid has a chance to not only play, but contribute on some level. He probably should have gone higher in the draft but his issues while in college scared off many a team.
I've watched knicks summer league games and their three second rounders should all stick in my opinion. Landry Fields who I admit I didn't see a lot of at Stanford does nothing great but everything well. He understands his rotations and has a very good hoops iq. D'antoni will love him as he's complained about the lack of basketball sense from some of the players. Andy Rautins is what I knew he was, 3 point bomber extraordinaire. He can handle a little and plays the passing lanes well. He's best off the ball and off screens for jumpers but moves the ball well when the **** isn't there. Jerome Jordan is raw but looks like he can finish around the hoops and rebound but would struggle in half court sets or with his back to the basket.
Matt Barnes is planning on announcing where he is signing some time tomorrow (Friday). The rumors have him whittled down to the Lakers, Heat or Mavericks. Dallas can pay him the most, but he has a better shot at winning with L.A. or Miami. Of course, if it boils down to those two, he will play more minutes and make more money in L.A. He also took a subtle potshot at LeBron today on his twitter so I assume he isn't going to Miami. He did say that his decision would surprise people. Given his history with Kobe, playing alongside him might com as a surprise. Personally, I think his best bet is either Dallas or Orlando, but Orlando apparently hasn't offered him a new contract, so he probably won't stay there. If he does sign with the Lakers, I would consider their offseason a success. They weren't planning on upgrading their first team (nor do they need to) but the second unit was pretty awful and undisciplined last year. Additions like Steve Blake and Matt Barnes to go along with Lamar Odom makes for a pretty deep top 8. Walton is useless due to injury and Sasha is an expiring contract who could be traded around the deadline and the two rookies (Ebanks and Caracter) appear to be locks for the team if they are willing to play for the minimum (as opposed to going overseas for a few years).
He either rolls with us, or we roll over him. BTW..his wife is addicted to South Beach shops, and he is one of those Christie ***** whipped mofos...so..just throwin' that out there.
Sounds like Byron Scott really wants to upgrade the Cavs' PG position (at least to a more true PG), and get someone who can run.
The bulls are rolling with Korver now. Good luck sticking him on Wade. the Bulls fans are now on Cory Brewer's jock. Ok fellas, enjoy!
The Bulls went from a very good defensive team...to a terrible defensive team on the perimeter in a offseason where a team added the two best perimeter players in the game. good luck Chicago. it is setting up for some very ugly blowouts in heat/Bulls matchups. They DO KNOW we signed Lebron James and kept D-Wade..right?
Hey, they got snookered by World Wide Wes. They not only hired Thibodeau (which was a decent hire, but they only did it b/c of the WWW connection) but then traded Hinrich, a guy who has always given Wade fits because they were conned into believeing that they could get LBJ and Bosh and create their own Dream Team. The best untold stories of this summer is how so many team execs and reporters got completely used by a bunch of conmen who aren't that sophisticated or even particularly intelligent (I'm looking in your direction Maverick Carter!)
Per rotoworld.... Free agent Ronnie Brewer reached an agreement with the Bulls on a three-year, $12.5 million contract. The Bulls are the new Jazz, with former Utah players Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver and now Brewer in place. The Grizzlies made a mistake by not picking up Brewer's option, but they were apparently already planning on dumping all their money on Rudy Gay. Brewer's a solid player, and already looks like the favorite to start at shooting guard for the Bulls.
samething.... Nate Robinson has agreed to a two-year, $9 million deal to stay with the Celtics. This comes as no surprise, and while Paul Pierce was not happy that Tony Allen went to the Grizzlies, we're guessing he's good with the return of Lil' Him.
