What I am failing to understand is why Tannenhill doesn't do this more often. I really hope Philbin and Sherman actually give him permission to escape and move around like that after this past week. I know Tannenhill WOULD do it too, he's done it plenty of times at A&M. Philbin has gone on record though explaining he hates when QB's leave the pocket instead of standing in and letting everything compress around them.

I was saying NOW. Manning and Brady can't make that throw anymore.

It could very well be a problem with the head coach.

But I bring this up and you really have to keep it in mind, when your offensive tackles are the main source of weakness, guys who like to scramble around and create that way have their escape routes essentially cut off. And the pressure from the offensive tackles is also the least visible pressure for the quarterback, so he's going to sense it later than the pressure from the inside.

In our case, pass rushers are beating our offensive tackles while maintaining discipline and staying in their rush lanes, often coming free on the inside shoulder of the tackle.

It all makes for an extremely difficult situation for any scrambler to deal with. So it could be that Philbin is handcuffing him, or it could be that guys like Tannehill and Rodgers need their offensive tackles to block better so they have escape routes.
