In the last game he played...he scored 55 points. did he look tired then?

he had a week off since that 55 point game. no excuses for that turd he threw out there.

Anyway...no big deal...we lost a road playoff game. Series doesn;t start till somebody goes down at home.

Atlanta was a worst road team than we were. (yeah, they had one more win...but they got blown out much more on the road)

They won;t beat us a game here.

we have to figure out how to take one there.

No big deal. we will show up on Wednesday.

THREE things are definate in this world....

    Death.
    Taxes.
Wade goes nuts after having a bad game. Expect a big one from D-Wade on Wednesday.

Thats what Im thinking/hoping. Also, Beasley seemed to get a more comfortable in the 2nd half. Didnt matter b/c the game was over at that point... but I'm hoping Beasley can come out of the gates scoring on Wednesday... instead of going 2/7 in the 1st half...

I have no problem losing in Atlanta. First of all we are a young team and young teams are prone to feed off or flop based on crowd tempo. Second of all those young Hawks all have playoff experience. Third they are without question a better overall basketball team.

My problem is that this team looked like they didn't care about winning or losing. Dwyane Wade, agree or disagree, GAVE UP on his own team in the third quarter. I witnessed it with my own eyes... Didn't even cry for fouls in the second half. He just didn't care. He and Haslem issue this stupid curfew only to come out and play like crap. I am still shocked at the lack of effort man.

I agree with Sec though... Wade is fully expected to drop 40+ in game 2.

An if Haslem starts over Beasly I'm turning the ****ing TV off.

Seriously Atlanta's forwards... Way too athletic. U.D. Is getting exposed. This isn't his matchup.

you are waaaaaaaaay off with this one.

Haslem has a history of holding down Horford.

That is why he is getting minutes.

Horford had 12 and 7 versus Udonis ONE ON ONE. in yesterday's game.

    so nope.

Beasley was the one that was getting made to look like crap on transition.

Josh Smith was NOT Haslem's man. So let's drop the Haslem hate and bring it back when he deserves it. Okay?

Horford versus Haslem at CENTER...this year:

    8 pt. 10 Rebs.
    12 pt. 7 Rebs.

    versus J. Oneal:

    21 Pts. 22 Rebs.

    versus Magliore (18 minutes)

    8 pts. 5 Rebs.

Haslem hate? Never the case. I am simply calling it how I see it. This is not based on his overall performance one on one with Al Horford. Not a single player on this basketball team can contain Horford one on one. In this matchup, generally speaking, Udonis Haslem is left out in the cold for exposure. He's got too much responsibility due to the fact that Jermaine O'Neal sucks, and we have no one else to chip in on help D. Haslem defended Josh Smith a ton last night, by the way... a ton. Whoever he defends in this series will possess a mismatch, Beasley as well. Only difference is that Beasley can get it back for you on the other end, and maybe some more. Haslem cannot. Haslem's toughness cannot be matched by a single member of this basketball team, but with his injury and the athletic inability, I'd prefer to see him limited to maybe 25 MPG in this series. Beasley needs the overload. He's the only player on this team with the ability to give Dwyane Wade a helping hand.

If you think Udonis Haslem should be starting over Michael Beasley right now, then you've got to be satisfied with losing the series.

We cannot afford to suffer these major scoring droughts in that arena... like Dwyane Wade said, an 8 point lead will hit 20 in an instant. Michael Beasley needs to be on the floor for the majority of the game. He needs to be attacking the basket for the majority of the game. This is not a knock against Haslem. The NBA is all about matchups. One series he fits, one series he doesn't. When he doesn't, we no longer have Shaquille O'Neal around to shield him. We've got Jermaine O'Neal... a center content with satisfying for jumpers while displaying a 15 inch vertical leap.

God I wish we opted for Brad Miller when we had a chance. At least he'll score consistently and ATTEMPT to rebound the ball like a GROWN MAN.

Seriously this team had zero sense of urgency(that falls on coaching) just because you're not expected to win doesn't mean you phone it in.

    You didn;t watch the game.

    check the play by play.

Haslem guarded Horford almost exclusively last night.

J.O. played 21 minutes and 12 of those came with Pachulia on the court.

Beasley on the other hand played EVERY minute while Josh Smith was on the court. except for a few.

So to say that Haslem guarded Josh Smith a "ton" is flat out bull****.

Haslem did ...AS ALWAYS......a GREAT job defensively...LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES.

Call it like you see it? then call it when you see Beasley's man (JOSH SMITH) get 3 break away dunks...and one put back highlight dunk. that is 1,2,3,4 dunks on beasley. kinda big deal.

it is just a fact...you know...they have stats that confirm it.

Haslem has had success on Horford. he played him well again last night. JUST FACTS.

Haslem has plenty of heads on his wall. Pick on the ones that don't play defense.

In fairness on the Josh Smith transition dunks... he wasnt just beating Beasley down the floor. He was beating everyone. If Beasley took a shot, JSmith was already at half court running the other way.

We have to have a better plan for our transition defense...

This is where having J.O. in your line up hurts you, he is never going to hustle down the court, he cant, he doesn't have the knees anymore. And if Haslem is crashing the boards one of the two need to be ready to run to the other end of the court.

Miami gonna throw up another turd up tomorrow? That was a horrible game. Atlanta D was to much for El Heat to handle in game 1.

Don't care about any of that because it's not going to win us basketball games in this series. Point is that Haslem should not be starting. Not this matchup. Michael Beasley needs to start and play 35 minutes or more if we want to win... that is the FACT. We cannot afford to put up 64 points in a playoff game, whether it's Atlanta or Georgia Tech we're facing. Neither of the two players are going to match up well defensively with Atlanta's bigs, like I said, but Beasley can match or out duel any player he goes up against offensively. We need that fire power in the line up for the majority of the game.

If anything, Haslem should be stealing more of Jermaine O'Neal's minutes. He has nothing to offer against Atlanta. Nightmare waiting to happen in transition.

    HE DID!

Did you really see the game?

Beasley might as well started...he played so much.

They brought him in and ran play after play for him in that first half.

as for matchups...for the last time...HASLEM has a FAVORABLE matchup, historically. he plays Horford well.

Jermaine O'Neal was on the floor for most of Atlanta's major run... that's what I'm referring to. Not the entire game. Total minutes for Sunday night's game is 110% irrelevant as the final 15-20 minutes meant NOTHING. Actually, I guess you can say the final 24-30 minutes of the game if you're speaking from Wade's perspective.

I don't think it can be made more obvious, but BEASLEY NEEDS TO START and he needs to have a ton of plays called his way from the get go. He CANNOT have a slow start in Game 2.

Forget about Game 1. That wasn't even a real game to me. Nothing from that game meant anything. The team and coaching staff stayed at the hotel.

Well... anyone we put on Josh Smith is going to play him like crap. We have no one to match up on him. Like it or not... we dont.

Anyone thinking about starting Beasley at the 4 and Haslem at the 5? And then bringing JO-4/Maglore-5 off the bench?

Regardless... Wade and Beasley need around 40 minutes each in this game...

Section, this is why Beasley must start:
**** Josh Smith. If we cant free Wade up, it wont matter what Josh Smith does. We will lose. We MUST free up Wade to give us a chance this series...

seriously, i love haslem, but he went 2-3 from the floor with five rebounds. he isn't even winning the individual match up with horford.

beasley needs to be out there. he lead the team with 10 rebounds, that's 3 more than jo and haslem combined.

why is it that every Haslem argument gets countered with a Beasley argument?

one last time...Haslem has to guard Horford.

he needs minutes in this series.

That doesn't mean beasley has to sit. That doesn't mean that Beasley doesn't get 600 minutes a game.

it just means what it means...which is that Haslem has to see the floor when Horford is on.

Our inability to grab boards is killing us. At one point we were up 12-0 on 2nd chance points, now Atlanta is up 13-12.. We need to board or this game may not end the way we want it to.

Funny thing is that if officiated properly, Miami would be up 30 right now.

I'm still nervous. Atlanta is one of those teams that can spur a 10-0 run like nothing. Wade's got 28 right now... we win for sure if he finishes with 38.
