I have tickets to the first home game for the Miami Heat on the playoffs.

An obvious attempt at humor, although it did kind of make me think twice about my choice for a childhood hero back in the day.

Right, and we all know that... but does it excuse him from being called out when he goes through a 1-2 month stretch where he choked it up in almost every close game? No. I'd take Wade over any of those guys in a Game 7 of the NBA Finals, too, but that's all the more reason to get upset when he turns the ball over in the final possession in two games in the same week. I expect more from him. I know he's going to bring it in the playoffs; but what are all of these discussions consisting of? Regular season.

We all know he's the second greatest basketball player in the world right now... but I'm going to call it how I see it game by game.

He played like **** when it mattered the most in the month of March, but guess what, we survived thanks to Philly's major choke job. Not that I'm shying away from giving my own team credit because I think they've grown tremendously over the course of the season... outplayed Boston (twice in their arena), Dallas, New Orleans, Orlando, and Cleveland post-All Star break but found a way to give those games up in the end. I honestly believe that this race is still going and it's either tied or we're trailing if not for Thaddeus Young's injury. But his career isn't threatened and I do believe we're the far better basketball team, so I'll take it. That's over with. No need to really keep the discussion going...

We can all agree that Wade is a future HOF'er.
We can all agree that the playoffs is where it matters so all of this talk is meaningless now that the season is over with.
We can all agree that during and right after games, HD is Mr. Sky Is Falling.

I will do my best not to comment on losses during the Atlanta series until an hour or so passes by.

 

So........

How do you guys feel about playing our starters heading into the final two games of the season? Most people I've spoken to feel like Wade and J.O. should definitely sit. I agree half way. I think Wade should keep it going... just at a limited rate. Beasley should be handed the scoring load in the final two games. Jermaine and Haslem... yeah, sit 'em. Maybe Moon, too. It's never good to roll into the post season on a losing note. The competitor in me wants to see this season finish 44-38, although it doesn't differ from 42-40 as we'd still remain the 5th seed. You've just got to be careful.

I want to play on Saturday. I think Marvin Williams is far more banged up than any of our guys.

 

An interesting question for any team going to the postseason.

I'd say give them some playing time to stay loose, but definitely not play the whole game. Closely winning or losing the last two games by sitting Wade and Jermaine, among others, can help you a lot when they're 100% for the playoffs.

The Magic sat starters tonight and I'm sure we will for the last game with Charlotte. After what happened to Turkoglu the other night I'm all for it.

 

I'm rooting for you guys to take it to the Cavs in the second round (I think you'll get past the first).

Wade will have to perform out of his mind. I think Cleveland would struggle guarding Wade based on the fact that they don't have someone the right size to guard him. You'd need a Kobe Bryant to guard him, not a smaller Delonte West or LeBron James. I don't know who'd guard James, probably Jamario Moon.

Seriously I hope he logs 25-30 minutes in the next two games.

Guarantee he impresses if granted.

Of course he'll get hurt in camp next year, but yeah.
