Amare is also the only guy to ever come back from the micro fracture and look basically the same as before the surgery.

    He's a physical freak.

His recovery has been remarkable. The physical trainer for the Suns is a miracle worker. Between Hill, Amare, and Shaq..

I'm more frustrated with how Indiana seems to always have our number.

Michael Beasley is as bad as it gets defensively.....if you really focus on watching his game.

(and no, I'm not saying that's reason enough to trade a 20-year old. Amare is just as bad defensively, and he's a finished product)

I thought he looked pretty active so far... which is good to see from him.

Also, has been pretty aggressive on the boards tonight, which is what I want to see from him.

Chris Quinn exits the game; maybe we'll be able to get a defensive stop now.

Yeah, he's getting better. And he's been very active as opposed to his days at Kansas State. I'll tell you what; the effort is there, and I was initially concerned that it wouldn't. He just looks lost out there on defense 75% of the time, but again, he's 20-years old. This is the best system in the league to learn defense.

I'll say one thing: He's probably the most talented offensive package of a player this franchise has ever seen. Yes, even more so than Wade offensively.

Given much more thought, hopefully, we stay away from Amare until 2010. :D

(Only three players in this league I move Beasley for: LeBron, Dwight Howard, or Chris Bosh -- not calling them the three best, but for what we need....)

And the disappearance of Dwyane Wade.. your team's 14 point lead has been blanked. Where are you?

BTW, Ben Gordon with 13 FT attempts is pathetic. I have no respect for his game. All he does is pump fake and DIVE into defenders. It's OK, though. He'll retire on a team with a losing record.

    WHAT A FINISH!!!!

Did you guys notice that as soon as D. Cook came back...we play well?

Anyway..as for Bill SImmons..he has always been an *******, and I have no idea where he gets this Beasley stuff.

I know somebody that is very close to the team..and I mean CLOSE...VERY CLOSE..and he tells me that Beasley is a dream. he tells me that he is always asking questions and constantly worrying about his game.

Last night..Spoelstra called him his "favorite" young player ever.

What is Simmons problem? His constant hate of all things miami is getting out of hand.

Yup. Breaking news by Rich Bucher. Deal is OFFICIALLY done. Ira is late with the report as usual.

To Miami: Jermaine O'Neal & Jamario Moon
To Toronto: Shawn Marion & Marcus Banks

We got our big and got rid of Banks contract while getting a decent swingman in return. Jamario Moon is basically Dorell Wright minus the injuries and a better recognition of his potential. Basically just an athletic freak in the mold of a poor man's Shawn Marion. He's better than Diawara, I'll tell you that much. Great deal! See you in 2010, Amare. Beasley will still be here to greet you.

Good luck in T-Dot and where ever you end up next season, Matrix.

How had O'Neal been doing in Toronto? And what does his contract look like? I just remember Wade dunking in his face from a practically standing position . . . back when O'Neal was one of the top shot blockers in the game.

O'Neal's contract expires in 2010. We're now completely out of the running for Boozer or any other big name free agents in 2009, thankfully, and set up perfectly for 2010 by ridding ourselves of Marcus Banks' $5 million per season. I believe we'll have over $40 million in cap space now with Wade, Jermaine, Haslem, Blount, James Jones, Dorell, etc. all expiring. Only guys under contract for 2010 are Beasley, Cook, Chalmers, and our 2010 first round draft choice (won't have a 2009 first rounder)..........that's less than $10 million combined and it covers a starting PG, PF, and 6th man.

J.O. has had the injury bug as always, but before his last injury in December he was playing well. Since he's been back in January, he's been pretty solid, including a 9 block performance against the Lakers a few weeks ago. Because of the trade talk I've used my NBA League Pass a bit more, and I've been pleasantly surprised with his play. He'll give us exactly what we need in the middle when he's healthy. Check out his recent Game Log:

(Remember that he's been sharing time with Bargnani, Toronto's future, recently)

So whats our startign lineup now? We have a few options

I like when cook is on the floor but i like him as fire power off the bench but maybe

    Chalmers/Wade/Cook/Haslem/JO

I know when James Jones signed he had the potential to start if we got rid of marion, not sure if he's ready though but

    Chalmers/Wade/Jones/Haslem/JO

    or could always go with

    Chalmers/Wade/Beasley/Haslem/JO

According to Coach Spo, Michael Beasley "is not a small forward"

    I'm going to guess:

    G - Chalmers / Quinn
    G - Wade / Cook
    F - Jones / Moon / Diawara
    F - Haslem / Beasley
    C - O'Neal / Anthony / Magloire

With O'Neal doing the dirty work down in the paint, you're going to see less of Haslem and more of Beasley. IMO, you can pretty much bank on that........

Moon isn't a bad player, though. Won't be surprised if he emerges as a solid rotation player here.

$3 Million in "cash considerations" and a draft choice added to the deal.. both FROM Toronto TO Miami. Figured the cash was coming since we're sending more than we're getting.

Pat Riley made out like a thief, honestly. Raps board on RealGM = pissed. I didn't know they valued J.O. so highly with the injury history. Most people are actually calling him the "heart and soul of the team when healthy"

This is Colangelo eating Crow IMO. O'neal DID NOT want to play in Toronto and is a much better fit for the Heat. I'll miss Marion's defense, but having a low post threat will open alot of things up in this offense.

All I can say is that I'm glad Beasely is still on the team... Like I stated in my earlier thread, I don't know if Beasely will develop in to an All-Star talent / force on D, but I am glad to know that we will find out in Miami.

6 blocks and 10 rebounds on wednesday night.

Good move overall. JO will be a nice bandage at center until we can sign or draft the next Zo, and clearing up salary is always nice. I just hope we get that franchise center sooner rather than later, considering O'Neal's injury history.

Anyone know how this affects our eventual pursuit of Amare or Bosh?
