I can't believe I overlooked Orlando.... However, I think we would match up well against them, especially if we control the pace of the games...

I can't believe Udonis Haslem got ejected in the first quarter for two technical fouls in about 10 seconds. The worst referee in the NBA there. Terrible foul call that Haslem disagrees with (with the SAME gestures displayed by LeBron and Garnett 10x per game without a T), gets T'ed up. Then he's T'ed up again after WALKING AWAY from the situation. NBA officials have too much authority in this league. Stop flexing your muscles and do your job, you homo thug. I prefer the NFL's approach to "personal fouls"

Also, we've got to make a decision with Marion. Either trade him or play him, Pat. He's still a solid player who can be used.

Another thing that's been bothering me. How does Rudy Fernandez make the Rookie All Star Team over Mario Chalmers? Fire the decision maker.

Quinn and Diawara need to be replaced ASAP.

Diawara will be when James Jones fully recovers. Think we're stuck with Quinn for the season.

Quinn hits shots and doesn't turn it over. Diawara plays great defense. both are useful. I don't understand the hate for them. As 10 minute a game stop gaps..they are fine.

Diawara's defensive scouting report must have been reputation over film. He's nothing more than a "decent" defender from what I've seen. Problem is, with Marion out, he's our starting SF right now. 14 points in his last 5 starts.
And Danny, it's unnecessary to expect to replace Diawara and Quinn with Pierce and Nash, but every team needs a solid starting SF. Every team needs a solid backup PG. With Marion on the bench we have neither, nor do we have a solid starting C. Too many holes right now, which is why Marion needs to play or be traded. This "groin injury" crap has gone on too long. Bottom line is that we're missing 12/9/2 with a block and a steal per game, and we've got nothing in return. Shawn Marion, Jermaine O'Neal, Brad Miller, etc. - someone needs to be on the court.. soon.

That's what I'm fussing about. The Quinn issue is just something that steamed out from watching his horrendous defensive efforts the other night. When his shot isn't falling, he's worthless.

i agree with the Marion thing. In pheonix he was mr. reliable hadn't missed any sort of extended time, he gets here and he all of a sudden is made of glass.

I really don't think he's injured right now. I mean, he may be dinged up, but to the point where he's missed this many consecutive games? Nah. I d on't know what they're doing, but they're doing something. I will say one thing; Jermaine O'Neal has been playing very well as of late. Our main concern right now is getting Marcus Banks out of here before 2010, so Toronto's got to take him. This way we can offer Bosh (their own) more money in 2010 as apart of this deal, too. :D

Speaking of Youtube Blogger Chris Bosh: Stephen A. Smith claims that Miami has had preliminary talks with Toronto in regards to a trade for Chris Bosh. This is after the report where he claims to have the inside scoop on Bosh, who is intent on leaving Toronto in 2010. He called Miami (chance to play with "good friend Wade") and Dallas (home town) the favorites.

Here's the question for you guys:

Would you trade Michael Beasley and Shawn Marion for say, Chris Bosh and Jason Kapono? Honestly speaking, I probably would. Only thing you have to consider is BOTH Wade and Bosh bolting in 2010 if it doesn't work. Right now, at least we know we'd have Beasley to build upon. Not under that scenario, but it's a worthy gamble, IMO.
Bosh would be eligible to earn more money re-signing here than actually signing here as a free agent from Toronto in 2010. We'd own his bird rights. I mean, as long as they agree on something under the table with Wade and Bosh....

Doubt the trade happens, although I do see Bosh or Amare signing here in 2010. I'm bored and it's raining.

I actually find it funny that Toronto is willing to help our chase for the 2010 free agent period (by taking Banks), knowing that their franchise player is probably going to be our top target. Idiots.

I'm not sure if I trade Beasley for Bosh. The point is to have Wade, Bosh, and Beasley all on the floor at the same time for the next 5 years.

Michael Beasley is the Heat's channing crowderesque quote machine...

Check out these doozy;s from tonight after the game...

"I'd rather have 18 and 10 than 23 and 5..I want to be a double double machine."

    "I don;t feel like I played well if I didn;t get a double double."

"I gotta get a "yo mama" dunk this year."

(he has a bad bruise on his elbow) so he tells jason jackson: "I know something you don't know....you can't lick your elbow. I tried."

(On his shot) "Nah, they are finding me, but I gotta get easier buckets."

"I am learning how to play at 50% and then change it up to 100%. it is important to be able to play at different speeds. UD and Dwyane are helping me with that."

It would be hard to trade Beasley... just from the emotional attachment and all...

But god it would be hard to turn down Bosh...

its tough, because theres a good chance we could end up with Bosh without having to trade Beasley in 2010.And Beasley's potential is just so high i don't see us trading him.

    We are not trading Beasley.

His contract is worthless really...and he is a super talent.

I would not trade him for a guy we are gonna get for free in 2010.

they want a package of UD and marion and they give us Bosh and filler? yeah. but Beasley, Chalmers and Wade are untouchable and will be HERE when we WIN OUR NEXT Championship.

In fact...I would even put Cook on my "NO touch" list.

There is no way I'm letting Cook be a deal breaker...

Cook is nice. Lethal at times...

But a 3pt shooter can be replaced...

Hell, look at the Magic. Every single player on that team other than Dwight is a threat from behind the arch...

Wade gets another chance. Misses again.

I can't blame him for not having confidence in his garbage teammates, though. The late game technical foul that he got out of frustration with his own "team" said it all to me. The Diva needs more help and a better effort out of her supporting cast. Can't leave Rasheed Wallace wide open for three when you're down by 2 points with 40 seconds to play...with Sheed, the result is always the same under those circumstances. Hate him or love him, he is as automatic as it comes when attempting a dagger.

    jeeeeez.....

come on HD...want some gouda with your cabernet?

relax. the glass is not half full with cianide.

    losing happens.

and BTW....yeah we had 10 less TO's...but we made a big one with less than a minute to go...and we shot like crap all game.

You can;t beat anyone when you shoot as bad as we did. Beasley was the hero in the 4th quarter, but he made a bad TO because our offense broke down.

I let Sheed take that shot every day and 8 times on sunday. He doesn;t "always" hit that shot...in fact...I remember him missing about 6 of those in an important Heat/Pistons game about 2 years ago. and he missed them all in crunchtime.

we will get back on our horse...we outplayed them pretty good. If we just shoot mediocre...we blast them.

Let's not forget Cook was also out this game. With he an Diawara (sp) not seeing any minutes we had no real 3 point threat when Jones was out of the game. I think this is why Wade took as many 3's as he did, just to keep the Pistons honest from behind the arc.

I am a supreme over reactor when it comes to sports......that I know and live with. :wink2:

On a brighter note, how about Jermaine O'Neal in a losing effort against LAL last night:

    22 points (9/17 shooting)
    9 boards
    9 blocks

And of course, Miami Heat scouts were in attendance. Obviously not scouting an upcoming opponent, because we don't play either team in February.

He's been playing great lately. We all know about his secret physical taken down in South Florida earlier in the week, as recently noted in Ira's latest blog. As long as BC takes Banks I'm good.

    I got some info.....

The JO stuff is for real.

The Heat has requested medical files for four players: Jermaine Oneal, Amare Stoudmire, Tyson Chandler, Chris Wilcox.

Now..the Tyson Chandler thing is about a story that appeared somewhere that said that he was being shopped. So I think it is just due diligence. the Amare thing is also about a story that said he was being shopped...so no biggie there either...it is just crossing your t's and dotting your I's...

But the Chris Wilcox thing...I have no idea about....It could be a third team thing for the JO trade.

i'd trade tyson chandler for marion in a heart beat. i think he's a much better five than JO is. he's the defense and rebounding this team really needs and he knows his role on the offensive end. i'd be thrilled with this deal. not sure why the hornets would want marion though.

as for JO, yawn. he's been washed up for some time. it should say something when a player is in trade rumors months after being traded.
