BTW..I am hearing that Bosh will stay..."He doesn't care about winning now that much...he thinks it will eventually come." yeah..that is what I was told.

My money is on these things happening:

We resign Wade and add Amare really early in FA...then we trade Beasley in a sign and trade deal for Rudy Gay and Mike Conley....Then sign JO to the full MLE.

and this is our opening night lineup:

    PG Mike Conley
    SG Dwyane Wade
    SF Rudy Gay
    PF Amare Stoudmire
    C Jermaine Oneal

That lineup makes us the favorites in the east.

a guy I hear alot of things about as a heavy target for the contenders next year as a rotation player is Raja Bell. You throw him into our mix...

But Gay/Conley on top of Amare? You want us to think bigger than that? I mean, I want LeBron... but after that scenario, this one is pretty intreagueing.

Yep... as I've mentioned every above scenario listed in the past, I really wouldn't mind it working out that way. Not at all.

    - Raja Bell actually told Sun Sports that he will do everything he possible can to sign with Miami in the offseason.

    - Gay/Conley was ORIGINALLY OFFERED for Michael Beasley on draft night, but Riley wanted the fifth pick as well, and Memphis wouldn't do it without excluding Conley or Gay. These were stronger than rumors, though. A deal was very, very close. I love Super Cool Beas, but that would have been a hell of a deal... the Mayo trade between Memphis/Minnesota probably never goes down, but Riley I'm assuming Riley tells Memphis to select Brook Lopez at #5. Holy hell. Right now we'd be sitting on a line up of Conley, Wade, Gay, Haslem, Lopez with max money to spend in the offseason. You add Amare in there and you're winning a title or two or three or four or five. Hindsight, though, unfortunately.

    - Been saying that Bosh will stay. He has said over and over again that he wants to be THE franchise player. If he leaves, he goes to New York or Chicago WITHOUT LeBron or Wade, but he LOVES Toronto. Absolutely loves it. I hear he doesn't even go home (Dallas) full time in the offseason now. So much for the "who wants to play in Canada?" talk that most sports writers bring up. Most of the players who play there fall in love with the area.

    - Firmly believe Amare is pretty much a lock to sign here in July. I think that's why Pat Riley didn't pull the trigger on including players and/or picks that are in our future plans.

    - Jermaine O'Neal on the other hand has stated that he doesn't think he'll return next year for financial reasons and financial reasons only, but your scenario has Miami offering him the mid-level... which he'd definitely take. I think he can be had for $3-4 million per, if not then Marcus Camby.

BTW, I love that scenario. I'd try to include a pick or two to get THABEET in that deal as well. I still believe in him. Not sure if Memphis does.

Why does this stupid basketball team start chucking threes whenever they fall down... BY ONE. I am mostly talking to you, Wade.

Jesus Christ... I hate hate hate hate watching this team in a close game.

Our playoff series better be like last year, full of blowouts. Please God. No close playoff games. I will lose it.

Man, I love Beasley... but he made some huge mistakes down the stretch. Played with a complete lack of confidence.

    Thanks Spolstra...

    Trade Beasley in the offseason.

I just can't grow to like this kid. He has so much potential, but he makes so many bonehead mistakes, plays scared, and can't rebound or play D, and worse, he goes cold when it counts.

    I give up.

Beasley missed two major assignments down the stretch that essentially gave Orlando 5 points. Is that why you sit him Spo? Still think you suck as a coach right now but I NOW SEE WHY (to an extent) BEASLEY SITS IN THE FOURTH... a little bit, as he DOES need to learn. Let's see how he bounces back from this horrendous performance where he was even worse down the stretch.

It's a good thing I wasted my tickets tonight.

Problem tonight was that Haslem was worse.

In fact...outside of JO in the 1st half...Dorrell Wright for most of the game..and two 3's by Chalmers...everybody else played like Garbage. Except for Wade of course.

we flat out blew this game.

Why is it that we can never get off a game winning shot?

Our defense was horrific for the entire game. It was a miracle we had a chance to win.

We actually drew up a couple plays for Beas..that was nice to see.

But yeah...he was as bad as could be for most of the game...and again...Haslem was worse.

    This was a WTF game.

how the **** did we have a chance to win playing this bad overall?

answer: Wade and Orlando is as dumb as we are. They just have alot more talent.

Miami's starting front court shot a combined 7/24... that should never happen in an NBA game. Ever... ESPECIALLY when you have a distributor in Dwyane Wade's class.

Still feel like we'd take Orlando to 6-7 in a 7 game series. Still would rather avoid it. Miami's only true chance is Atlanta. That is it.

    true story...

3 times in the last 2 years...Rashard Lewis has hit the dagger...from exactly that SAME corner.

what is hilarious is watching our coaches screaming at our guys to close out on Lewis and he still shoots a wide open 3.

Lewis just sits there forever to occupy a defender. Eventually the defender gets bored and tries to help in the paint. cue LOLcatz.

BTW...wtf was up with JO punking out Howard? HE DOMINATED him tonight. what was up with that?

JO REALLY wants a new contract.

but back to full circle..the growing pains are too much with Beasley and we are going to be championship contenders next year.

we can get Rudy Gay and Conley...for him...do it.

BTW...funny ****...the "Heat Fans" on Ira's blog are *****ing that SPO blew the game because he didn't have Haslem out there instead of Beasley. LOL

after *****ing for a full year about "why" beasley is not out there to finish games.

truth again was that Haslem was even worse than Beasley tonight. Trust me..he was an improvement. This might have been Haslem's worst game of the year.

    BTW..Get a LOAD of THIS:

Dorrell Wright is 43-46 from the FT line this year for 95% from the LINE.

Barry Jackson sums up Heat's offseason decisions:

    http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/03/19/1539426/miami-heat-will-be-facing-difficult.html

Kinda unwise imho, the NBA is a point guard league, Wade does handle the ball alot, but still, don't go too cheap at PG.

Famous last words, "but they will do it here.."..err...rarely works out like that, not with Vets, that game in, game out effort is not a switch that is turned on and off.

So basically, Beasley has to be the #1 option, cats like that end up on those West Coast teams like Sacramento or Golden State..25 pts per game, 20 win seasons...

Barry Jackson is no NBA CBA expert.

    He is leaving ALOT out.

and Padre..it isn't a stretch to think that by coming here, those guys will be improved defenders. it is what Riley has built.

For example...look at JO. He has become a GREAT...not GOOD...BUT GREAT defender in our system. To the point where we must dedicate some dollars to keeping him.

Guys become good defenders in Miami. So will Amare and Bosh. If We can make the likes of Que Richardson, Shandon Anderson (Vince Killer), PJ Brown, Brian Grant, Ike Austin, etc...good defenders...we can do it with a couple of all-stars in Amare and Bosh.

Not sure about JO Sect, contract yr push maybe, which sort of dovetails with those other potential heat players, a guy likes to play D or they don't, if they crank up their intensity only in their FA yr, chances are good they won't maintain it if signed.

I really like the thought of Joe Johnson as he is the sort of really good background role player that the Heat need imho.

And there is a reason why Amare is on the trade bloc every year for the last 2, it isn't salary.

I think we beat Atlanta. Last year if you remember...we were up 3-2 and back home in Miami to close them out when Wade got hurt.

    we then lost in 7.

Against Boston..it will be a tight series. it goes 7 and is a tossup.

I think we take 2 from Orlando. The refs let Cleveland foul us nonstop..so we take 1 from them.

    Like I said..we make "defenders"

Que is the best example lately...he has no hopes at a big contract...yet, he is all of a sudden a stopper...

Our system forces you to play defense because of how active it is.

Not a big contract, but "a" contract, Q is not exactly in high demand, neither was JO.

If picking guys in contract years to play defense is a strategy, I'm onboard 100%, but they have a career level of defensive play for a reason Sect.

Will need UD for Chicago because that is going to be a VERY physical game.

It's always a dog fight against them, and Brad Miller promised an even bigger fight after the last game.

Hope Magloire gets some PT on Thursday. Perhaps a flagrant or two.

I'm beginning to hate the "Baby Bulls" and wouldn't mind seeing something out of the ordinary. At least some hard fouls.

EDIT: Damn this post makes me sound like a dick. But when it comes to sports... I am. No rules.

If Miami keeps it together and wins the games that they should, we'll be in good position going into the postseason. Yes I know 7 of these games are away and 4 are home, but Miami shouldn't lose a single remaining home game and should be able to go at least 4-3 against this road group, maybe 5-2 or even 6-1. Who knows, they're talented enough to run table but probably (definitely) won't. I'm thinking 8-3 (45-37) would be acceptable in the final 11:

    @ Chicago
    @ Milwaukee
    vs. Toronto
    @ Detroit
    @ Indiana
    @ Minnesota
    vs. Philadelphia
    vs. Detroit
    @ New York
    vs. New Jersey

    CURRENTLY:

    5. Milwaukee Bucks: 39-30
    6. Miami Heat: 37-34
    7. Toronto Raptors: 35-34
    8. Charlotte Bobcats: 35-34
    ---
    9. Chicago Bulls: 33-37
