That depends entirely on who's drawing him. Also, with Spider-Man, you can computer-enhance his muscles since he's completely costumed and masked as Spider-Man. Thor is different, unless they totally change his costume.
Thomas Jane is a huge comic fan and got out early after he saw what they were doing with the story. His movie wasn't that bad plot wise, but I just couldn't get on the Travolta bad guy.
You know, I'm not saying this because they are friends, but Matt Damon would have been a much better Daredevil and Matt Murdock. His facial features even resemble the comic character more than Affleck. One thing that stands out to me, is that when the actor is a knowledgeable comic fan himself, (Cage, Downey, Edwards) they seem to do alot better playing the part. I didn't care for Ghost Rider at all, but my problem was the script.
I liked Punisher, as did my boys ages 12 and 17. The 17 year old has a good understanding of the new stuff (storylines) that I am unfamiliar with. I only know about the pre 1980's stuff for the most part. Back then I had about 3,000 comics, and it was almost all Marvel other than some Sgt. Rock, Green Lantern, Warlock, etc. Travolta did ok IMO but I know alot of movie fans hate his work. Perhaps at some point Marvel will let Jane have more say in the storyline and get him back. IF not, do they have any plans for Punisher?
Agreed. The Uncut DVD version was at least a step forward. A lotta people bashed Affleck's performance but he is a childhood fan of the superhero (he's an avid fan of Frank Miller's style and personally wrote the intro for Daredevil: Guardian Angel). I'd be willing to give him a second chance under a different writer & director, maybe Affleck himself since I rather liked Gone Baby Gone and Affleck publically expressed his discontent that the original wasn't dark enough. Any number of new directors would be perfect for the job like Jon Favreau, Guillermo Del Toro, or Kevin Smith.
Jon is going to be too tied up with "Iron Man 2" and probably "The Avengers". Kevin Smith is still too chicken **** to do an action movie. I love the guy, but he passed up doing "Green Hornet" and know I hear that it's going to be Seth Rogen doing it. And not only is Seth going to direct, but supposedly he'll be the Green Hornet and I think Stephen Chow ("Shaolin Soccer" and "Kung Fu Hustle") is lined up to play Kato. Not sure I like the fact that they are obviously going comedy on it. Del Toro could do wonders with DareDevil, but will he do any comic other than Hellboy? I'd actually like to see David Fincher do a comic and DareDevil might just be up his alley. I also feel that Darren Aronofsky could possibly pull of a comic movie too, but I think hge might be more suited for a Dr. Strange movie.
I know Jon has said before that he really wanted to direct DD and I'm pretty sure if the studio offered him the job, he'd go for it regardless of his workload. He loves the series that much. Smith is a maybe and it'll take a lot of persuasion from his buddy Affleck to do it or at least pen it. At worst, I think if Affleck can channel his efforts from his first directorial flick into DD, it could turn out pretty well. I didn't really like hearing Rogen and Chow doing Hornet though I like the two elsewhere for comedy purposes
