http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article24412084.html All three days open to reporters.. Players I would like to hear flashes from...all rookie and 2nd year players.. Would like to hear How Jamar Taylor is locking down the #2 corner position.. Also really want Chris Mccain to win this job..I think we need that hi dose of athletic talent on the field in that linebacking crew. As always keep an eye on that left guard position, sounded like to me that the staff is high on Jamil and thinks he can compete with Thomas for the job, he did get 1st team reps in some practices, and they say he's picked up the system well. Want to hear abut Ryan getting in some players asses, and in complete control, even the ole, the ball didn't hit the ground quote. want to hear about Ajayi and how he looks explosive. Want to hear about Damien Williams continuing to ascend. less than 6 weeks to go for the real deal..this is a nice dress rehearsal..
I want to hear: - Billy Turner not getting COMPLETELY smoked by Suh...just heavily smoked. - More of the "Tannehill was dealing today!" stuff. - Grimes looking as good as 2013. - ALL skill positions making catches, more of Cameron, anything on Stills. - UDFAs not embarrassing themselves.
I want to hearabout our UDFA LB's. We got a bunch of quality ones and I'm hoping someone catches fire early. Misi could use the competition and we'll need someone to step in when he's out his usual 6 games a year.
These dog days are so long. I'm starting to think Reshad could just slide over. I mean, Ndamukon Suh right?
I'm not going to get overly excited about the guard play. I think it's going to be hard to judge young guards going up against our Dline. I'm more interested in 1) how is the secondary holding up 2) red zone threats: receiving - Cameron (and in TC Parker) and RB - Ajayi 3) continued development of Dion Sims 4) consistency with the newer WRs - Tannehill to Stills and Jennings
I don't believe mini-camps are full pads/contact. I'd be interested to see: 1) Hopefully no injuries. 2) How Albert and Parker are progressing in rehab, along with how much Delmas is involved. 3) How efficient Miami is in the red zone. 4) Who gets more reps at LG.
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article24412084.html Per Adam Beasley, mini-camp is shorts and helmets only; no pads.
Seriously though, I'm pumped. Mini camp to me is the first real sign that football is allllllllmost here!
Agreed, especially since the Reds are pretty dreadful this year. At least the start of their needed rebuild is beginning. That time of year when the NBA and NHL are over and there's no Summer Olympics or World Cup (no offense to the USWNT) is boring and Dolphins updates are what get me through. Mathis would be a nice bonus but I feel like Miami will try and see what they have in Jamil Douglas and Dallas Thomas. Hopefully one of the two steps up. I think they could still get a decent player when cuts hit if not Mathis.
That's always a funny catch for me. I love that football is almost here, but, at the same time, it means summer is over and back to another hellacious 7 to 8 months of winter. You must feel that a bit as well Jersey Boy.
I don't think mini camp has ever been pads. I think it's always shorts and helmets. I don't know if there's anything that I want to hear except whatever happens. I do expect more Tony Lippett interceptions. I predicted a while ago that would become a thing, and I'm riding that one for now.
Tannehill looking good and hitting Stills deep Someone stepping up at #2 corner Chris McCain beasting I agree it's gonna be tough to grade the guards going against Suh 89 more days till Week 1!!!!!
Per Kevin Nogle of ThePhinsider.com: "Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NFL and the Players Association, the veteran minicamp must be held Tuesday through Thursday, with physicals taking place on Monday and an off-day on Friday. The team can hold two-a-day practices on two of the three minicamp days, with the following stipulations:(i) players may be on the field for a total of no more than three and one-half hours per day; (ii) players may participate in one practice for no more than two and one-half hours of on-field activities; (iii) the second practice may only be for the remaining portion of the players’ daily three and one-half hour on-field activities and shall be limited to walk-through instruction only; (iv) no organized team activities (including treatment and taping) may begin prior to 7:00am local time or end after 8:30pm local time, and players shall be given at least one hour for lunch and dinner each; (v) players may only be asked to participate in Club activities for a maximum of ten hours per day including taping and treatment but excluding meal time. The Dolphins can practice on the field, but they canot do "live" tackling drills or any other contact work, and they can only wear helmets, with no other pads."
My Mets are having a nice season so far. That's exciting because it's been a while. Holding onto first place for deal life right now and I hope they can keep finding ways to win. Back to mini camp. I wish it were with pads, so we could get a little more sense of how the guys on the lines are doing, but I won't complain. It's still Dolphins football.
Roger that. I still can't believe they didn't get drafted. He's on the light side as far as weight but the more video I watch of Neville Hewitt the more I like.
For some reason philbin just cut Thursday's practice off the doc.... Which I have no freakin clue why
Not sure where the teAm performed in a way where we should be cutting valuable practice time, maybe this is his way of buying respect..idk I do t want to get carried away but it just doesn't make sense
You sure they weren't talking about last Thursday when they went to build some homes or something along those lines instead of practice?
Haha yeah, absolutely. I love the fall and hoodie weather though. Summer is awesome but October is the best month sports and weather wise. January-mid March is the only really awful weather IMO.
school renovation project I believe. A true team building moment Anyway, I'd like to hear more about our safety position. It seems that behind Jones and Delmas we've got a glut of pretty decent guys who are solid but not spectacular. Defense was really affected by Delmas going down last season. So it's important to have two good backups. I think competition wise, safety and corner are going to be the fiercest of all the positions. There's been talk of it being linebacker but really you've got more competition in the secondary. five spots, most of the time as opposed to two, if you think about our nickel package and how often we're in it. Certainly alongside wide receiver, the secondary is going to get a lot of work during these OTA's... can't really gauge the linemen, tight ends, or running backs to their fullest ability without the pads on.
Expanding on that secondary glut... Potential Depth chart: CB: Grimes; McCain, Bobby S: Delmas; Aikens; S: Jones; Thomas CB: Taylor; Bowman NB: McCain, Brice; Davis That's 10 guys... and we haven't listed Cedric Thompson (5th rounder), Tony Lippett (5th rounder), there's also Kovacs, Seamster, and Don Jones as special teams guys. I would be really surprised if all three of those fifth round picks made the 53 man roster just looking at this on paper. Practice squad probably... or IR'd with some mysterious injury.
I think my depth chart would look like this at the moment: RCB - Taylor, Br. McCain (slot), Bowman FS - Delmas, Thomas (slot), Aikens SS - Jones, Thompson LCB - Grimes, Bo. McCain (slot), Lippett I have a hard time seeing Will Davis making the team this year, personally. I feel like Michael Thomas has the advantage over Don Jones and Jordan Kovacs on Special Teams, and you'll probably see Aikens, Bowman, Thompson and one or both of the McCains on STs. Miami's usually kept 11 DBs under Coyle, so I think you can get away with keeping a guy like Lippett on the 53-man roster while he develops. I don't think you want to risk him going on the practice squad as some teams may also view him as a WR and try and pluck him.
there should be rule in here lets say starting June 1st....no talk about that H..t and in.ury word anymore...don´t jinx us man
