Alex Smith doesn't. Lots of short passes. Then he just wasted a ton of clock. Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk
Is it me or is Donovan McNabb not exactly "retired number" worthy? Edit: I didn't consider his running statistics, which were valuable to his success. Makes it more believable.
So who still wants Lane Johnson? 4.5 sacks tonight to Justin Houston 2 of which resulted in strip-sack-recovery. Said it the whole time leading up to the draft Lane Johnson is not an elite or even good tackle prospect.
Tough night for the rook. Doesn't mean he doesn't learn and develop from here on out. Remember when Jake Long got owned by J. Abraham his rookie year?
John Abraham is a multiple time pro bowl guy with all kinds of accolades. Justin Houston was a bust/below average player til tonight. Jake Long was regarded by everyone as a starting caliber player regardless of which side of the line you felt he was best suited for. Lane Johnson is not nor will he ever be in that class imo. When you can single handedly point a finger at an OL and say thats why we lost the game...not a good sign.
I don't remember you saying it, but I'll take your word for it. Still remember being bummed out that Miami traded up to #3 to draft Lane Johnson, only to be shocked and totally excited we drafted Dion Jordan instead lol. Good times.
I don't know which Justin Houston you've been following, but he was excellent last season. Definitely not a bust/below average player. He's KC's best pass rusher. Too early to say I told you so on Lane Johnson.
I was originally thinking to myself, "self, why the hell would the NFL schedule Denver-Oakland on Monday night when we know quite well which team is gonna have its *** handed to them"...... but then watching the game I'm reminded about how fun it is to watch Peyton meticulously dissect a defense.
you know- I was gonna ask this very question yesterday [albeit a little more sarcastically].... but I had already gone overboard for the day and decided against it. Watching what Peyton Manning is doing this year, I wouldn't be opposed to using next year's first on another D-line pressure player. Be it an elite interior guy or another edge rusher who can rotate with Wake & Jordan to keep everyone fresh for 4 quarters, plus utilize the trio in nickel considering Jordan can rush from the inside and offer stunt potential and so forth. Gonna be tough for anyone to reach the S.B. if their front 4 can't consistently get after Manning all day IMO.
