With wins over quality teams in the Grizzlies and Pelicans, let’s see if we can keep it going with a win over the bucks tonight.
Wow! WHAT. A. GAME!!!! The man is averaging 40 points and 10 assists over the last 12 games. Record of 11-1...no Chris Paul...no Eric Gordon. He just beat a healthy Warriors team with a lineup of Danuel House, Austin Rivers, PJ Tucker, and Clint Capela. Levels!
We know Harden will carry the Rockets to the playoffs. I didnt really plan on commenting about the regular season this year, but that game was fantastic to watch (instant classic). Harden and Capela are taking it to another level this year.
Cmon dude. If the rockets were 30-7 this thread would have 50 pages. Is it just me or was the NBA thread way more active last year?
To be honest, I don't even care about the #1 seed after what I witnessed in the playoffs last year. Being cheated for 20 points in our own arena left me disgusted. Im still not over it. I used to do my predictions before every season starts on here, but this year I didnt even have the passion. I think the team lost the passion too, which is why they were losing to every scrub team in the NBA for the first month. We're 2-0 against the Lakers, 2-0 against GSW, 2-0 against Denver, and 1-0 against OKC. Those are the contenders. I haven't brought it up all year because I know that the only thing that matters is if the refs will cost us another championship. Im just waiting on the playoffs.
Knicks won a game last night over the Lebron-less Lakes as Lebron sat out. Hes doing everything he can to make sure KP, Durant and Zion dont end up on the same team next year #RoadToZion
The reality is the Rockets are fumbling when the Warriors finally look to be trending down. Having Harden going off for 40 a night is not a sustainable formula. Will not work in the playoffs. Their opportunity was last year.. and you know what?
The Heat are just such a boring team right now. Not bad enough to be excited and not good enough either. Just ugh.
If that's what you believe...ok. Just keep in mind that Daryl Morey is still looking hard at Jimmy Butler (he is still unhappy). Jimmy wants to run pick and roll, and no better team than Houston to grant that wish...it's literally all we do. Nothing has changed.
Not really. I’m so sick of everyone in the National Media sweating my man! They betta step the F off!
Sean Marks and Kenny Atkinson are Gods! Brooklyn Nets sitting in 6th seed currently midway through 3rd year rebuild. And they did it with no first rounders and a bare cupboard team that they inherited. But through shrewd trades and the best player development I've seen since Pops, they are a legit lower seed team. And 2019 will be the first time in the marks/Atkinson era where they get to keep their first rounder. Unbelievable. The latest development success story is D'Angelo Russell. Considered a bust by the Lakers, Atkinson has turned him into a legitimate consistently good point guard. When he came here he would flash ability then disappear for five games. We finally got him to the point where He's putting up 20 plus with 7 or 8 assists 4 out of 5 nights. The Nets are a legit team that the top seeds are not going to want to face in the first round. We probably lose that first round but it probably goes the distance or close to the distance and if it's an undisciplined team we could even win. You will have to play team ball to beat us The Dolphins should consider hiring Marks as GM and Atkinson as our coach. We would be in the Super Bowl in three years
I know nobody cares but I'm so happy with the Spurs this season. Kawhi took his leave, and dragged Danny Green behind him. The FO managed to bring in DeRozan and Poeltl who have both been excellent. But more than that, the Spurs started the season with 8 new starters on this team, EIGHT(!), and then, due to injuries, had to start the season without a true point guard, (starting PG Murray injured for season, new rookie Walker injured to start season, Derrick White, injured, Rudy Gay injured, and Pau Gasol injured). Bryn Forbes had to start at point and he had never played point before. Slowly players have come back in; although Gay has been in and out of games with persistent heel issues, Pau only just came back and is limited, and rookie Lonnie Walker IV came back very recently and is obviously only getting a few mins. It was a rough start to the season, they had a poor starting record and it looked like the Spurs were definitely going to miss the playoffs for the first time in 21 years. Instead that team has come together, figured out how to play, and moved up the rankings so that if they can keep this up they look set to make the playoffs for an NBA record 22nd year straight. No Duncan, no Ginobili, no Parker, no Kawhi, not even Slow-mo. This is a brand new generation of Spurs, and it's an absolute testimony to their coaches and executives that they have not only managed sustained success but look set to make a transition to a new generation Spurs players. Anyone who doesn't believe in the value of coaching just needs to look at the Spurs organisation. They've been masters of finding talent where no one else can - or is looking - or adapting their game to different personnel and trends, or developing talent from within, and getting the most out of every player on the roster. Their overall player development is outstanding, coaching adaptable and inspired, and their reputation for being a family only adds to it. I was coming into this season more positive than most Spurs fans, I think, because I knew the end of an era was here, but I believed in the Popovich and the Spurs organisation in a way that let me look forward to see what would happen with the next era of Spurs players. It was going to be different, and that was okay. I even didn't mind facing a season of missing the playoffs, were that to happen, although not entirely happy. What they've been able to achieve so far has been incredible and I'm proud to be a Spurs fan. Quite honestly, I think one can make the honest argument that they are the best franchise in all of sports. The game last night was just one more highlight, with another record obtained - highest team, single game, 3pt percentage with a minimum of 15 threes hit - 84%! I hope they make the playoffs. I don't mind if they make a first round exit, but I hope they get to at least the second round. We'll need to see Aldridge and DeRozan evolve their playoff games because both of them have a history of disappearing in the post-season, and I seriously hope that doesn't happen. However, when the Spurs finally get their starting point-guard back, and if they can find a way, in the next couple of seasons, to add another star player in place of some of the old, less talented guys, I'll be excited to see a Spurs team that can contend again at the highest level. Creating an NBA championship team isn't an easy formula to mix, but if anyone can do it, it's the Spurs. I'm glad to see Popovich is continuing to enjoy coaching, and I hope talk of his retirement vanishes into the past, at least for a little while longer. When he finally moves on, that might truly be the end of an era for this organisation. But I'm not wasting time thinking about that. It's so good to see the Spurs young guns come out to play. We've beaten every major team this season, and although we aren't in that very top tier, with one or two acquisitions, we can be. And that will be a truly incredible accomplishment. A small franchise that has been a giant in the league for over 20 years. Amazing stuff. Now if only the Dolphins organisation can learn what it means to pound the rock. What a year that would be!
On another planet right now. The planet where you shoot 33%, 1-17 from 3 and your team loses to the Magic. lol
I guess i have converted you into a Rockets fan. You talk about them more than I do, lmao. Welcome aboard.
Yeah that must be it. I’m no longer a die hard heat fan, I’ve decided to root for another mediocre team. I actually am a Harden fan, and I can talk about him when he has **** games.
I've never been big on him. He always seems to be detrimental to teams he's on rather than improving them. The Warriors might be good enough to adapt to him and make him a lethal addition, but I'm not 100% convinced. He just might not work out.
Harden with 57 points & 9 rebounds tonight in the 2nd game of the back2back without Chris Paul, Eric Gordon, and Clint Capela. Since you're a Harden fan now, you must be ecstatic?
I honestly thought he’d put up 50 shots tonight. It was a very efficient night by Hardens standards. You know you can be a fan of a player without slobbing his knob, right? I can still laugh at his hesi moves and flops, doesn’t change the fact that I can still appreciate his offensive genius.
Valid points I guess. They don’t need him so if he’s getting in the way they can just bench him. If he can’t keep his mind right for one year, get a ring, then cash in next year on a multi year deal, then this guy has issues. Kind of like Jimmy Butler. I love the player and thought he was dealing with crap in Chicago and Minnesota, but now it seems he may be the problem. If drama follows you everywhere you go, you might be the issue.
You're a Harden fan. So, why are you so surprised that Harden is efficient? Harden's Usage% and True Shooting% vs other stars in the NBA... Harden: 38.7% usage; 62.0% shooting. LeBron: 30.6% usage; 60.1% shooting. Embiid: 31.6% usage; 59.3% shooting. Westbrook: 30.3% usage; 47.7% shooting. Durant: 30.3% usage; 62.5% shooting. Giannis: 30.3% usage; 63.1% shooting. Leonard: 29.8% usage; 61.1% shooting. Curry: 29.6% usage; 65.9% shooting. A. Davis: 29.0% usage; 59.8% shooting. Lillard: 28.7% usage; 58.7% shooting. I'll just stop there since these are the top 10 players in the NBA. As you can see, Harden is used A LOT more than everyone in the NBA and makes a higher percentage of his shots than most of your favorite stars. It's been this way since he put on a Rockets jersey 6 years ago. Harden IS efficiency. It's not about slobbing on a knob...it's about stating facts and not basing opinions off silly gifs & memes. Later.
Because he just went 1-17 from 3 literally the night before. The memes and gifs are hilarious and Harden provides so much meme material. He’s still an elite offensive player and definite top 15 player right now in the NBA.
And there goes our starting small forward & 5th best player, lol. House wants more money & I dont blame him. This season has officially become comical.
Word is the Nets are going to come to a buyout agreement with Faried and cut him which in turn will allow him to sign with the Rockets for the vet minimum. He'll probably do alright offensively for the Rockets
Faried and Harden have been playing summer basketball together for the past 2 years. Their pick and roll game should be automatic. At this point, why not?
We're either going to leave the spot open for now or give it to one of our players who are tearing up the G League or I even heard maybe leave it for a trade for Carmelo. Unless we get picks to go with Melo I don't want that but if it's another contract dump I'm cool with keeping Melo for half a year. I just want enough cap space that we can offer Durant a spot. All we need is a forward. We're a long shot but I think the NBA players kind of dig what we have going and who knows Durant might be cool with that.
Melo? Take him. You guys can have that protected 2nd round pick we just got from the Bulls for Michael Carter Williams. OR... We can just cut the guy we just signed a few days ago (Nunnally) to make room for Faried. That's likely what will happen now that Eric Gordon is back. As for Durant, I dont think he goes anywhere without another superstar. He's mentally weak...he's proven he cant lead. He wants to follow. He'll probably go follow LeBron next or Giannis. Durant is that soft in my opinion.
Man! After years of seeing/hearing the infamous Iverson "Practise" clip, I saw a documentary on Iverson, watched it with my brother, and love him or hate him, the guy wore his heart on his sleeve and was just an honest, simple dude that for all his toughness was an easy target for the media. Bigger picture aside though, biggest shocked to me was how the 'Practise' speech has been misrepresented the entire time. Maybe I'm late to the party, but just in case, if you've heard the clip and were left with the impression that Iverson was saying it doesn't matter that he missed practise because it was just practise, then go back and find a clip of the whole thing. That wasn't his point. Media has just presented it that way. His actual point was one of frustration because after a horrible year of losing the finals then losing his best friend, and then going through all sorts of stuff, the media just wanted to ask him about practise. After multiple questions on the subject he was saying, we're here talking, and you guys just want to talk about practise, nothing else. Horrible misrepresentation.
