Congratulations mr A-Rod on 660! Even more exciting to know that round tripper was the game winner! Pretty special moment for him, dont care what anyone says, him and bonds are still probably the two best hitters baseball has every seen.

I do think with all that's happened with him with the PED stuff people forget just how good Arod was back in the day, especially for a SS. And I agree no matter what he did or didn't do he's still one of the best baseball players in history.

I do love how people don't give credit to Bonds or Arod but are fine with saying they consider Hank Aaron the true home run king while ignoring the fact he (and probably at least 90% of the players back in those days) took greenies, which are now illegal to take in the MLB. But hey it doesn't fit the narrative I guess.

Totally agree, greenies, yellow jackets, cocaine.....I consider myself to be a fan of baseball, yes, I am a diehard Yankee fan, but im also a diehard baseball fan. I think what people tend to forget is, this game, it's solely for entertainment purposes. This is totally my opinion, but I like homeruns and big hits and I, personally, could not care less what players do to their bodies to provide the entertainment for me. Agree, disagree, not something i care to fight over. I just believe that people who ***** about A-rod being a cheater, tend to forget, your (finkle)sentiments, players in the 50's - 80's took all kinds of amphetamine type things and illicit drugs.....soo in my opinion, baseball has never been a pure sport. Sammie Sosa's corked bat and Mark McGuire's amphetamines helped baseball become America's game again. Bonds HR race, was fascinating to watch. In almost 10,000 at bats in bonds career, he only struck out 1500 times, all while collecting 752 HR's and 2500 BB's. How on earth can you not put that man in the Hall of fame? Best eyes and fastest hands, I've ever seen. Oh well, im sure the folks who write about baseball, know more than me (hahahha) so we'll let those jackwagons decide worthy and who isnt.

Yup agree 100%, well said. I also think think its funny when people say baseball isn't pure yet think/assume/whatever that other sports are. I'm sure whatever guys in the MLB are talking are the same as guys in the NFL, NHL, NBA, WWE etc. No sport is pure, so it's not worth getting all worked up over things so like you said better off just watching it for entertainment purposes and not worry about the non sense.

Ok I know it is early but Fink something has to change with your rotation....not saying I see them pitching in the 5's ERA wise but I don't see them in the 3's either? How long you think Cherington allows this to go on....??

You knew it had to happen in Fenway right, that guy RAKES there...looking back if that trade were ever to go down, who knows if he would have won one there but no doubt he would have destroyed numbers in that park...

The most admirable trait of him besides being able to utterly piss off every human being in the world at the same time, is the guy never dogs it. I have never seen him take a play off....

Porcello will be/is fine and I think Miley will bounce back. Buchholz is Buchholz so he'll either pitch like Cy Young or Matt Young. I'm worried about Masterson, I don't think he's going to make it through the year in the rotation. Kelly is a mystery because he has good stuff, throws hard but has problems executing pitches.

There's not much Cherington can do right now, no teams are in sell mode and I don't think he's going to rush any of their prospects up yet. I bet he goes them until the middle of May to see. Then I bet Brian Johnson and Matt Barnes get the first calls up.

As far as trades goes I still don't think Hamels is a real option, I bet they're looking more at the 2nd tier of pitchers like Scott Kazmir, Kyle Lohse, Matt Garza, those types.

I'm also pretty worried about their pen too. The team is a mess right now bottom line, even their bats haven't really clicked yet.

Would be really interesting to go into an alternative reality where Arod becomes a Red Sox in 2004. Fans would have absolutely loved the guy, something that never happened in NY and who knows if the PED stuff would have ever come out in 2009ish(?). Schilling claims the Sox wouldn't have won in 2004 with Arod on the team because he didn't have the "Idiot Personality" but who knows.

Right he wasn't the goofy kinda guy they all were but he is an idiot at times for sure.....

Also what's up with Hanley? He pretty much started **** that didn't need to be IMO. You think Warren threw at him Fink?

Hanley has a little Manny in him when you really have no clue what he's thinking. No I didn't think Warren threw at him but clearly Hanley did for whatever reason. I also thought it was stupid for Mujica to hit Ellsbury, especially at that point and situation in the game.

Over the past 5 years or so, the Yanks have rarely if ever thrown at anybody, not sure I would want to get hit by one of their guys in the pen though. They all seem like they fire the ball...

Like most beanball wars, it was silly and no reason for it. And yeah there are like 1000000000 other things I'd rather do then get hit by a Betances or Andrew Miller fastball.

However I do like that they did it in the bum (hahahahaha) area.....if they were throwing at them they did it the right way.....

I also think Schilling was unduly harsh on Kelly....man he cant help himself sometimes with what he says huh?

I actually like listening to Schilling talk pitching. Say what you want about him personally but he knows pitching. He made some good points about Kelly last night, especially when he was breaking down Teixeira's first inning HR.

He was talking about Carlos Martinez(of the Cards), and was saying his front knee shouldn't lock out. When asked why that was bad he babbled for 20 seconds before he even got a word out.

Then said he didn't finish in the "phone booth".

Many pitching experts herald Martinez as having some of the best mechanics in the game.

Tom Koehler is a scrub... Harper with 3 at bats 3 homeruns and just the fifth inning so far today.Each ball located at the same spot. Asshat.

See how the elbow starts forward before hand and ball gets up to where arm is 90 degrees?

Alex Cobb for TJ? Not surprising...Late arm action is an epidemic in the game.

Sox clearly need to make some changes. Matt Barnes is being moved to the pen and should be called up shortly as the Sox really need a power arm in the pen. Rusney Castillo should be called up soon too now that he's off the minor league DL and playing, plus I think he can help spark the offense at the bottom of the order. I'm worried about Masterson, his velocity just hasn't returned, I bet they give him 1 more start then if he doesn't have it move him to the pen as a right handed specialist.

Good thing is everyone else in the AL kind of stinks too so Sox are only 4 games back in the East and 5 games back from a wild card spot. Still early but Sox need to start playing better.

EDIT: And just like that the Sox DFA Mujica and will be calling up Barnes.

Man I can't wait to read this book. And after hearing Pedro's hour long interview with Francesa the other day really made be miss that Sox/Yankee rivarly from 1999 to 2004. Nothing was better than those games, especially in 2003 and 2004. Now we're stuck watching semi-boring 4 hour long games with no juice or energy in the stands or on the field.
