Someone's going to severely over pay for Sandoval. He's an above average player.

I hope Panda stays to see if we can win more but understand if he decides to get paid in which someone will happily over pay.

I'm predicting if he stays with the Giants he will make 15 - 18m per but 20+ with someone else.

Mike Morse and Jake Peavy will get resigned for 2 yrs.

True and delivers in the biggest stage where others have faltered. He's Mr. October 3.0 with Reggie being the original and Jeter being the second.

Hope not, I like him as a player and the Sox need a 3B but that body just scares me way too much.

According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, the Royals are expected to decline Billy Butler's $12 million club option for the 2015 season.
Butler had a disappointing .271/.323/.379 slash line with just nine home runs and 66 RBI in 151 games during the 2014 regular season and then batted .262/.327/.333 in the playoffs. The 28-year-old designated hitter has put up some tremendous numbers in the past and should do pretty well for himself on the open market, but the cost-conscious Royals obviously feel this downward trend is real.

Depending on the price I wouldn't mind him on a short deal to back-up Tex, cuz you know that ******* isn't making a whole year...

Eh, Butler can't play defense and doesn't give you the pop at 1B or DH, I'd pass.

Of course they did. Cueto was among the best pitchers in the majors in 2014, posting a career-high 20 wins with a 2.25 ERA and 242 strikeouts across 243 2/3 innings. He should be a fantasy ace again next season and then hit it big on the free agent market heading into 2016.

He has been clutch for sure. He's still not worth what hes going to get paid.

Yankees activated 3B Alex Rodriguez from the restricted list.

A-Rod is back on the Yankees' active roster after serving a 162-game suspension (reduced from the initial 211 games) for his involvement in the Biogenesis PED scandal. Assuming relationships can be patched, Rodriguez will serve as the Yankees' primary designated hitter in 2015. He'll still play a little third base as well, and there's talk of him trying first base.

Cardinals exercised RHP John Lackey's $500,000 club option for 2015.

The lower-than-MLB-minimum option was added to Lackey's contract with the Red Sox after he underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery in October 2011, and Lackey told the Cardinals this summer that he fully intends to honor it. Lackey turned 36 years old last week and wasn't exactly dominant after the trade that sent him to St. Louis, but it's still a heck of a bargain.

So this is going to set off an interesting battle I think.....500k!?

This, in my opinion, shouldn't be an issue. Lackey signed his original contract with the Sox with full knowledge that if he missed a season(s) due to TJ surgery there would be an added team option for 500k. If Lackey is so unhappy with having to pitch for 500k after collecting over 80 million for the original contract he never should have signed it in the first place. Just shut up and pitch.

I agree but not worth it....for 500K? What if he blows his arm out......and 80M after Mass taxes leaves you with like 3 dollars.....

What do you mean not worth it? The guy got a 5 year 80 million dollar deal with the Sox with a team option built in for a 6th year at 500k in case he got hurt. He has nothing to complain about, especially since there were rumors that he had a bum elbow already and that's why the Sox put the cause in the contract. If he doesn't like pitching for 500k this year then either quit/retire or he shouldn't have signed in the first place.

An easy call for the Nats after Span batted .302/.355/.416 with 31 stolen bases and 94 runs scored over 147 games in 2014. The 30-year-old will remain Washington's starting center fielder for the 2015 season and should again have considerable fantasy value.

But the point is he knew what he was getting into in signing the contract as the MRI the Sox did on the elbow didn't come back clean. There was a high chance he would need the TJ surgery which is why it was written in his contract. A contract he agreed to and signed, therefore he should honor it without complains. This wasn't some "fine print" thing in the contract he didn't know about. He knew the risks and signed it.

The Sox traded him because they was fear that Lackey would simply retire and not honor the last year of the contract or he would stick around and be a pain in the butt always complaining about it. There were rumblings he wasn't happy in Boston since the start of his contract and especially wasn't with the way the team was being built for 2015 and beyond. Sox simply wanted to move him to get something back for him instead of nothing and/or a headache.

That depends on how much he gets paid and if he helps them win a WS and if he clutch again.

Many people think Pence wasn't worth the amount he signed with the Giants but he helped them win a WS and had a .444, hr, 5 RBI'S this WS.

So worth it is hard to say at this moment but I get what you're saying.
