Wow - a lot riding on getting Durant or Horford to say yes.

I wouldn't put it past them to work the trade market on draft day, to open up ultimate cap space either. They have been working this for 2 years, so I gotta think they have a plan.

Wooooooooo let's go trade deadline

Phoenix has traded Markieff Morris to the Wizards, reports @ShamsCharania and @WojVerticalNBA.

Markieff Morris to the Wiz.

Heat trying to dump McBob on Portland for Henderson is my VERY educated guess.

McBob has proved worthless this trade deadline.

Not that we can count on McBob to be healthy, but what are the Heat going to do at PF if Bosh is out? I know Deng can play some 4, but after that you're going to have to start playing Haslem.

Seems like Houston and Atlanta got low balled for their expiring stars. Jeff Teague seems like he had a market but Atlanta thought it wasn't good enough.

Barry Jackson reports, Heat are done.

So the Casspi thing died when they asked for TJ, and the inability to pawn off McBob probably cost them Gerald Henderson, and maybe Foye.

Amar'e was mainly a PF for his career. Whiteside moves back in as a starter and Stoudemire becomes the 4 is my guess.

Nope. Deng will move to PF. Amare back to the bench after this game on friday.

Right. That's the starting 5, but how many minutes can we expect Stat to play, and that leaves the Heat with zero bigs off the bench other than Haslem. It looks like McBob is staying, though, so if he's healthy, I guess it's him.

Does that mean Winslow will start at 3?

Albert Nahmad says the Blazers deal is incomplete, and that Portland owes something.

My guess is...cash?

LOFL!!!

Lance Stephenson has been traded to Memphis!

Memphis has ALL THE CRAZY now.

Albert Nahmad: Heat out of repeater Tax talk till 2020-2021.

Nice work.

Clips got Jeff Green in that trade. Ripped off the Grizz.

LOL! Philly gets another 2nd rounder in receiving Joel Anthony in trade.

Gonna be awesome when they trade those 2,765 2nd rounders they own for Steph Curry. (second time I make that joke)

I mean...read between the lines.

We had half a season to show that the 2015-16 version of the Miami Heat (Dragic, Wade, Deng, Bosh, Whiteside, Winslow, Green, TJ, McBob, Amar'e) could contend for an Eastern Conference Championship, and they didn't really show that. Structural problems persist. Then Bosh went down with blood clots AGAIN. Yeah there will be a push for the playoffs. They said that last year, then they didn't make it. Maybe this time they actually do.

But in the mean time they're unloading what they can in preparation for big spending. Another attempt at a Big 3 equivalent off season.

That was always the plan, but in the meantime they had some opportunities to acquire expirings to help them this year, but their assets weren't appealing and they faced down the Kings in a negotiation for Casspi, which suggests to me that they intend to extend TJ.

Hashtag of the day:

#WhoSaidNo

We got a bunch of no's im sure.

The one who said no the most is Ainge.. He is whoring his draft pick around and many dont see it with the amount if valuebhe thinks is worth

Sec thank you for all your reporting, information shared, and insight around the deadline. Certainly made it much more exciting waiting for the Sec bombs.

Heat receive protected 2nd rounder from Portland it seems to complete trade.

Thanks!

and all you got for it was me breaking a Cavs trade story. I BEAT WOJ.

Uneventful but it all makes sense for FA. I'm a little bummed that we won't be able to see Dragic-Wade try to work things out in an offense that can somewhat space the floor to function properly this season. But long-term we did what we had to...aside from the McBob mess.

Eh.. Im all on the Steve Novak bandwagon.. only thing is he will likely prefer a contender... But any three point specialist ill take at this point.. Doesnt provide much defense but what ever, we arent a true threat this year but we HAVE to make the playoffs. It's a must, we cant let the sixers win a lottery pick from us.

Heat will pursue Joe Johnson, and Dwyane Wade will personally recruit him (they are friends) if he is bought out.
