You know it really makes me hate all these clowns that surround LeBron...hanging on his coat tails. LeBron will not really become the man he needs to be until he sheds morons from his inner circle. This isnt high school or Entourage. This is real life, these guys are not looking out for his or his family's best interest. Thet want to leech and treat Cleveland like Chuck-E-Cheese. Riley wouldn't let it happen and he was right. You want to be treated like a man, act like a man. Any real agent would've made it his mission to make LeBron and his family content, keep him in the best position to win and make money. Not go back home to appease some fanbase that didnt deserve your forgiveness after the stunt that they pulled, I include the scumbag owner. Mickey Arison has more class in his pinky than that turd Gilbert...
No-one is bashing Cleveland that I've seen. My end especially has all been Gilbert and Lebrons cronies.
Actually Florida has the 5th highest precipitation rate in the US....Ohio, 28th. Some people enjoy the 3 months of winter here (not me) but Bron must not mind it.
Every fanbase has these idiots.
Sorry if this has been discussed but any chance the Heat chase Greg Monroe? Monroe/Deng or something would be an awesome haul.
There's always a chance. But he's a restricted free agent right? That will be tough especially if Detroit is intent on keeping him. The offer would have to be fairly big money to make Detroit reconsider matching the offer sheet.
Gasol to Chicago could be huge for them, and it's a decemt fit I suppose. Regardless, the Eastern Conference is going to be about 50x more interesting than it's been the past couple years. If I'm Riley Monroe is my top target. He makes a ton of strategic sense for this roster. But yes you're right he's a RFA. In addition to Detroit's ability to match...the real trouble with chasing him is the three days of uncertainty that come with it. The Heat probably don't have flexibility of timing because of how long LeBron took.
Does Gasol to Chicago mean Boozer is amnestied? Is that really a huge upgrade? Gasol might be better than Boozer, but Boozer is 2 years younger.
I was really hoping against hope Melo would fall in the Bulls' laps. Not sure Gasol is a big upgrade.
That is stupid, what a stupid person, you pay god knows how much for his jersey but then you burn it? Could have at least framed it and put it up on your wall for at least him bringing two championships.
It's definitely an upgrade. Boozer kind of...sucks. Gasol is three inches taller, a better rebounder, a much better passer, just a more efficient player who can play from the high post or the low block. One of the keys, imo, is that Pau can play the 4 alongside Noah OR play the 5 alongside Taj Gibson. That's a hell of a front line rotation. They're going to be big and long in the paint on defense, and they'll be a tremendous rebounding team. Question is whether they'll be able to stretch the floor to make space for DRose. Gasol helps them do that, imo, given his varied offense and passing ability. We'll see. Melo probably would've made them Eastern Conf favorites, but Pau adds versatility and size to a team that relies on grinding you down and playing fundamental ball.
I don't understand how the hell Pau Gasol fits the Bulls defense. You guys have seen how Joakim Noah blitzes P&R's and switches on 2 thru 5...right? Gasol is gonna do that while backing up Noah? if he starts WITH Noah..you have a mess of a defense. If we intentionally tried to find Gasol's worst fit...this might be it.
this got posted on twitter..gave me a chuckle: Esteban @ATribeCalledE 5m LeBron is like the guy who goes away to college, gets his degree, then moves back home and works at McDonald's for the rest of his life.
Gasol is better off playing for the Spurs, Coach Pop won't drive him to the ground in minutes like Coach Thibodeau will.
Gasol signing in Chi means no room for Melo up there right? So whats the hold up, wants his own media day or something else up?
Maybe the Heat contacted Melo? I don't know but Lebron and Melo, they both have their egos that needs to be stroked a lot.
http://deadspin.com/lebron-james-te...ource=deadspin_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow Deadspin puts it far better than me. The Essay was a load of crap that sports writers bought hook line and sinker
They were first in points allowed this past year with Carlos Boozer starting at the 4. Unless you think Gasol is really worse on D than Boozer, I think they'll be fine at that spot. Gasol is a better offensive piece and is going to be a rotation guy anyway because he's getting older and because of how well Gibson played for them down the stretch. What might hurt the D more is if they start the rookie...Rose/Butler/McDermott/Gasol/Noah.
Wade and Bosh are cornerstones. Time to build a competitive team. You don't need three stars to win, although they certainly help the process.
Hmmm...heard it like this. We were one Ray Allen game winner from teams with one star winning 3 of the last 4 World Championships. We have Wade and Bosh..and we need good players around them..and on the bench.
I do see Bosh as a max player and I'm shocked by those questioning the deal. I would rather have Bosh on the team than Melo even though I see Melo as a better individual player. Bosh as one of the top two options is a 23/10 player who makes his team mates better. Bledsoe would be my #1 target. I love his game other than a few too many TOs (3.3 per game). The max on him is only about 13 and based on rumors we'd mainly be competing with Milwaukee. I also think that if we went max on him that Phoenix might not match. The one big question mark on Bledsoe is his knees. I'd be gambling that since he's so young it wouldn't be a big issue during this contract. I don't see Monroe as likely just b/c I expect that Detroit will match whatever offer he gets.
Yeah but our rain isnt year round really. It mainly comes in one big chunk, and it can rain for 40 minutes like a hurricane and be great the rest of the day
Does Gasol mean no Melo? Also, any idea who the Heat will target now? Is Melo in play at all? I understand if you can't answer these on here, but I wanted to see.
So Sec, what is the deal now, which are the pieces in play? Is Ariza/Deng the next piece? How much? Are they going after Greg Monroe? McBob and Granger reneging on their verbal commitment? Could a Monroe, Bosh, Deng/Ariza, Wade, Chalmers/Cole/Napier starting 5, with McBob and Granger + other low wage types work cap wise? Can the Heat sign a bunch of guys now, and then exceed the cap with the Bosh and Wade contract, is that how Bird rights rule works? I need some positive outlook.
Bro, just go somewhere with this attitude and come back with a better one man. Chris Bosh is a Power Forward who is a 9x all star. A Hall of Famer. Top 5 in his position in the NBA. Yeah man, he's not worth a max contract. Dude's a scrub. When he's the #1 option, he averages 23/10. You know who else averages 23/10? THE GREATEST POWER FORWARD OF ALL TIME, TIM DUNCAN. If your numbers are comparable to the GOAT at your position and that's not enough to get you a max contract... What is? Beyond that, per basketball reference: He is the 8th most likely active player to make the hall of fame, with a 96% chance. He is the 53rd most likely player OF ALL TIME to make the hall of fame. Are Hall of Famers not worth the max? http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/boshch01.html
