"Miami Bosh and the Salary Cap Abacus" seriously needs to be a limited edition comic It even has the twist ending of the hero's friend, LeBron, backstabbing him in the end
Now Stein reporting McRoberts signed for full midlevel, $23 million over 4 with player option after 3.
It's the midlevel amount, not necessarily the midlevel, but that appears to be the route Heat is going. An over the cap team using the exceptions.
I did like him when he played the Heat. Showed a lot of heart even though he was playing pretty dirty. Seemed like one of the few players consistently trying and being a thorn in the Heat's side.
Fits a profile. Former Duke player that was scouted personally and pushed for by Nick Arison. The Arisons are huge Duke homers.....
High IQ player. Good passer. Somewhat Diaw like. That's what LJ said he wanted. High B-Ball IQ players. So is Napier. With the bi-annual exception we can still get Morrow to help on the wings.
Gotta love YouTube. I was just lamenting I forgot to DVR yesterday's Summer League game against Brooklyn so I didn't see Ennis' performance. Then I find this on YouTube:
CK, bookmark both these youtube channels. They post NBA games individual highlights for all big stars/big performances, daily. They are doing summer league as well. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7zHLmbmASW9zmLW8WpFm1g https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-Ba10Rmz8pFivAVdQNeFyw
Boris Diaw comparison might be going a bit far since Diaw is a master when it comes to passing, but good passing is one of the things that stood out to me with McRoberts. I wonder if that's something the Heat are keying on this off season. Wouldn't be that surprising considering the team that just roasted them in the Finals.
That is one sweet stroke Ennis has. Napier looks ready for prime time, albeit against Summer league guys.
Here's a good one from that playoff series:
McBob seems to fit what they want in that he's a really, really active and high energy for a big man, and he can shoot. I guess defense is where I worry. When the Heat slipped this year it seemed to be because they couldn't disrupt on defense anymore.
Granger is a nice get. And the new Ray Allen; he's the only guy on the Pacers the Heat could stand. Reddit in general makes me want to blow my brains out.
These are good moves. Granger is another high IQ player, decent defender, can spell LJ. You add in the youth of Ennis and Napier and this is exactly what Bron said he wanted. We were never going to get Deng or Gasol if LJ wanted the max and the other guys wanted near max.
wrong guy. Broussard is the one that sucks. Notice how he struck out three times today ALONE on heat stories?
My guess is that they struck out on Marvin Williams. Which sucks IMO. Obvious that Deng came out at 10mil and priced us out. Even more obvious is that the Big Three took big deals.
****The Official 2013-14 NBA Thread**** Whoa, didn't see that one coming Chalmers officially gone then?
It passes time at work. I'm excited for when that place enters meltdown mode when everything actually rolls our way.
In other words you think they're forced to work at the lower end of the talent pool because they have to have too much tied up in the Big 3? No Luol Deng, no Marvin Williams, no Kyle Lowry, no Pau Gasol, no Trevor Ariza...they have to go after small potatoes like Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger?
Yeah, it certainly looks like they're operating as a capped out team. If that's the case, then they might as well pay the big 3. I'd still like to see Nelson and one of Carter or Marion.
Could sign Jameer Nelson to the minimum. Plenty of options. LeBatard spitballing that Bosh S&T with Houston is possible now
For who? If they can get a decent piece back and then go and add Melo, that might not be a terrible move.
I find it funny that neither McRoberts nor Granger were really the hot rumors. On that aspect, they kinda came out of nowhere. Pretty much shows that no one, but no one, knows jack squat.
