In the case of a trade, it makes sense for Love to opt-in to the final year of his contract and hit free agency next year when the cap balloons. That way he retains Bird Rights while also cashing in on the TV money. If he leaves this offseason he gets something like 4 yrs, $80.8 million. If he opts-in for this year and gets traded so he has Bird Rights to sign a new 5-yr max next offseason, he makes $161 million over the next 6 years.
Does it really, though? They're about to open the checkbook for Thompson, and Delly and Shumpert are also FAs. And then there's also LeBron. Anyone have any idea what their cap space would look like after max deals to LeBron and Irving along with roughly $15M going to Thompson, big money going to Varejao, and about $5M to Mozgov? Aren't they still on the hook for Brendan Haywood's contract too?
LeBron has all the leverage here. Pay $70M in luxury tax or GTFO. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
It doesn't. Still over the cap after Tristan's max contract offer sheet is signed. Wade's option in Cleveland is signing the mini MLE.
This Blatt stuff could definitely blow some stuff up for Cavs. Who knows what Kevin Love wants or what Blatt leave / being fired / staying means towards his feelings.
I was a big Shumpert backer, but he was BAD in the finals...and Delly? Where was he the last 3 games? Cle has bigger fish to fry IMO. Getting a top 3 PG back and healthy basically means with or without Love they are at the very least going back to the finals in 2016.
LOL. I can think of about 20 million reasons in year 1 for instance. Living in Cleveland for another....
you make one finals...and you talk like this. Then you wonder why we say what we say about Cavs fans.
Way it works is like this: A) Love Leaves B) Shumpert Leaves C) Hold line on Tristan extension. Theoretically, they can get up to the full MLE of $5.5 after THAT.
I'm from Cleveland, man - I get this like once a lifetime I'm gonna be obnoxious as hell. What's your excuse!
You guys have been LITE years worse for the most part, you turned an over polite Cavs fan against you....this is your guys fault.
You are trying to bag on a team you were wrong about all year for losing in the finals, your like 2010 Fin-O out here.
Dellavedova is trash... trust me I wouldn't trade Chalmers for that scrub.. And Chalmers is my least favorite player.. Won't shock me if Dellavedova gets traded for Norris Cole in some sort of package.
Hey Sec, did LeBron take Andy Elisburg up there with him? Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 4
WHOA..how in the hell was I wrong about this team? I was right about damn near EVERYTHING about this team.
I love how Fin-O just makes up ****. I even predicted that Love and Kyrie would get injured again! I did pick them to make it out of the east... I said they had no chance to win it all this year. So..where was I wrong?
Then you backtracked because I remember you citing "experience" as to why they wouldnt go deep into the playoffs early last year. If you flip-flopped?? I didnt see it. And I remember you saying they couldnt beat the Hawks. But okay.
There was a two-page back and forth about breaking some guy's legs. I think everything since then has been fairly tame.
BULL****. ALL OF IT. I said the Hawks would give them a tough time. Then they all got injured. I picked Cleveland to make the finals and lose to Golden State.
Listen Fin-O.. In ALL HUMILITY. I REPEAT.....IN ALL HUMILITY... I am NEVER wrong about Basketball. NEVER. You can't find anybody that knows more about the sport than me, and you won;t ever find anybody that goes 13-2 on POSTED bets in one postseason, like I did a few years ago.
You stated they wouldnt win in the playoffs due to defense, and lack of experience. Again, you likely tossed out about 5 different stances and are sticking to the most common. I know you said that, I'm simply not going to go fishing back 300 pages to prove anything i clearly remember you saying.
Im the best sports capper you have ever met. Edit: besides CBB, im the worst you ever met in that regard.
Literally got the chills watching that, man. I will forever remember where I was and what I was doing. God damn.
I said they COULD NOT WIN (IT ALL) because of their defense. and...they didn't. I made the point about a team with their statistical profile NEVER having won. and that is still ongoing.
I've never gone from utter despair to euphoria so quickly in my life and I probably never will again.
Just laughed my *** off reading Windhorst. Man i sure dont miss that fat ****. He says Lebron wants David Blatt to return because Lebron likes to have someone to kick around.
http://www.hothothoops.com/2015/6/1...e-miami-heat-lebron-james-cleveland-cavaliers Brace your anus Heat fan...if THIS guy say's it should happen? Its a lock! Wade is a classy guy though who loves his organization...he may arrainge a sign and trade to help the Heat acquire Delly.
If he goes it will be outright for the mini MLE or the MLE if you dont sign Love or Shumpert. Riley isnt going to do any transactions with the Cavaliers, he isnt a dummy like Phil Jackson, he actually is good at being an NBA executive. I honestly dont mind if he stays or goes, we got a bunch of talent on this team and the future is bright with or without Wade.
What did Phil do that was so bad thus far? He retained a top talent and has the Knicks out of salary cap hell. Dont believe the hype, Phil is doing about all Phil could do at this point.
I find it weird that people think we would be upset at Wade if he left for another team. There is a fraction that will be upset but the majority are fine if he stays or goes. Wade doesnt owe us anything, he will get his statue and number retired and will be welcomed back in a front office role if he wants it. But Riley isnt going to retire leaving a mess behind. Wade has the offer on the table, if thats not enough then thank you and good luck.
