Yes. Only way to keep Parsons and get Bosh is to trade Asik/Lin, sign Bosh and then use Bird Rights on Parsons. All of that has to happen, in that order, in less than 72 hours while Bosh is riding a camel in Ghana. It's highly unlikely. Bosh will be back I think
They were saying on the radio that Houston is getting antsy because of this exact scenario.... Priority is Bosh but don't want to lose Parsons...want it wrapped up by Saturday
People worried about the website... There are devs that are running the same search and can't find what this source is finding. Plus apparently you can't see how old a page is with Firebug. I thought this was the case but haven't messed with web dev since college so I wasn't entirely sure.
Yeah, nobody else on Twitter can find these supposed pages and the original "report" came from Sheridan. He is getting desparate
This is awesome and worth reading: http://deadspin.com/all-the-internet-clues-that-point-to-lebron-going-to-cl-1602553351
Dude took a screen shot of a text/email exchange. Plus he's probably not very tech savvy in web dev so it was easy to take the bait. Kinda funny honestly.
I still believe the big 3 will be back, but if not, I think you'll see the Heat go after Isiah Thomas and potentially Lance Stephenson. I would assume Bosh leaves if Bron leaves. The one interesting thing no one has talked about in this doomsday scenario is what happens with Wade. I think everyone assumes Wade will be back, but that's a tough situation for both him and the Heat. I doubt the Heat will want to give him a long, big contract if it's only him (although with Riley's loyalty it's possible). And with all of these other teams with lots of money, someone could throw a big deal at Wade.
I imagine Wade gets his 2 for $42 million back and we see what happens in 2 years under this ultimate doomsday scenario. Haslem too would get his opt out money back.
That's why I said "supposedly". I actually didn't think it was true but others kept saying they saw it as well. I didn't feel like checking myself.
As long as LBJ wants. I still say that as a basketball player he wants to stay, but as a a family man/friend, he wants to make his people happy. Needs time to either reconcile with the fact he is giving up something professionally to make family happy or to convince family that doing what is best for him professionally is also good for them
I would imagine the Heat would be willing to give him that, but would a smaller market team with money to spend and looking to draw fans offer him a longer deal for more money?
On another note I'm curious to see where Pau Gasol ends up. He's a hell of a fit for the Spurs. Thunder and Knicks are intriguing too, but San Antonio would get a pretty big lift from him, imo.
I get the feeling that part of the problem is that LeBron's people don't even know what he's going to do. And that's his great "sin" in this whole process, not having a cadre of people around him really know his mindset so that they can leak it accurately to news sources. Otherwise we're not even at the point the man can sign on the dotted line and people are acting like he's "dragging out" the process. Bull sh-t on a popsicle stick to that. The man just lost the NBA Finals. He needed some time away from basketball. Give him room to breathe. Jesus.
Love the tweet that said "Irony is telling LeBron to get over himself because he's not making a life decision fast enough for you."
I think big 3 re-signs and still think somehow they get a top pg through trade. Maybe a Rondo or something.
Stephen A. insisting on LeBron to Cleveland. The delusion is strong in this one. It's not fair what ESPN is doing to Cleveland fans.
Listening to Colin Cowherd just now interviewing Chris Sheridan. For what its worth...Sheridan is 100% positive Lebron is going to Cleveland. Says he has different source then the rest of the media has, and its about building Lebrons legacy. Says we will hear the words ..."unfinished business" alot in the coming days. He says he is positive it will be announced on www.lebronjames.com. He said how things went down when Lebron left Cleveland really made a big impact on James, and this move is entirely about building on LBJ's legacy, and bringing a championship to Cleveland. Says Cleveland's roster right now is no concern to LBJ as it will look different a week, a month, and a year from now. I have to admit, he sounds very much like he KNOWS what is going to happen. Hes not even hedging. Will be interesting for sure.
Given that Cavs fans all burnt their LeBron jerseys the first time around, I wonder what they'll burn when he announces he's returning to the Heat.
Unless the source is LeBron James himself, how can he know? Why the wait if the decision is final? If Riley was told its final why hasn't he said anything? The notion that Chris Sheridan is the only guy with this source is ludicrous. I want LJ back just do we can tar and feather this guy
Don't really get why Heat fans are so mad at Cavs fans when most of this crap is media driven. But Cavs fans? They think this is super fun and are pretty over-the-top excited at the prospect of adding LeBron - but for the most part it's "it would be awesome if he came, but if not we have 5 years of Kyrie and Wiggins." I've seen very few people act like LeBron owes them a return. I'm sure you can find some crazies on Twitter - like you can for any fan base - but I'm about as clued in to hardcore Cavs fans as you can be, and if he doesn't come back most of us aren't going to be upset with him in the slightest.
CK why do you think some are so positive that Lebron is going back to Cleveland? In some sense...I could see Lebron telling anyone within his circle, do NOT make it appear in any way that I have made a decision to go back to Cleveland. I think he has the power to staple shut loose lips. So when there are sources close to him, stating Cleveland is his choice, wouldnt it be his responsibility to make sure people in Cleveland dont get their hopes up. I mean, I gotta be honest, there hasnt been alot to hope for in Cleveland in a long time, getting Lebron back would really give that city and region a boost. If he chooses Miami, I feel kinda bad for that area. I think its kinda lame hes allowed such a swell of anticipation to grow if he really has no intention of ever going there.
Sheridan's rationale is surprisingly sound. This is a case where LeBron's unselfishness could actually bite us. He's got two championship rings and two Finals MVP trophies. He's been to the Finals five times. It's possible he thinks sixth or seventh Finals appearances with a third ring and a third MVP trophy wouldn't mean that much to him, but doing it in Cleveland would mean a lot more. It's possible. I think Sheridan has been sold on this theory by someone who doesn't really know all of this and is just following the logic. It's sound logic, but I'll not believe for a minute that Chris Sheridan has found the one source who actually knows anything.
You've got to follow the incentives. This is the entertainment industry. Just keep that in mind, and it's easy to see what is happening.
Lebron will never win a title in Cleveland if he goes back. He will be bounced by Indiana or Brooklyn in the conference semis this yearx then Miami for a few years after that. Then he will be out of his prime unable to deliver. It would be a career destroying move title wise.
I will say this. If Lebron leaves then thank you for four great years and no hard feelings about basketball BUT If he forces me to pin all my sports hopes on the Dolphins becoming a competent organization....I will never forgive him for that.
Oh....Im sure his crew knows how to cultivate LeBron's image. But also knowing the same industry, theres a good chance him not going to Cleveland now will only add to the tarnish of what happened four years ago. People care alot for their teams, I mean, I know I do when it comes to the Phins. If the Phins were in Cleveland's shoes, Id be dying right now as a Phins fan.
Ah dont worry, Ryan Tannehill is about to make you go, Lebron who? In all seriousness, heres what I hope happens if he goes. I hope Cleveland travels to Miami on Dec 25th. I hope Miami fans give Lebron James a standing ovation when his name is announced. Once thats done, he is now the enemy. Then they loose their **** when Dwayne Wades name is announced and we stomp the crap out of Lebron and Cleveland.
If James leaves, it doesnt mean the Heat are ruined... Riley can still rebuild in 2016. It would look even more enticing if Napier and Ennis prove worthwhile. We don't need to resort to plan F and expect to Dolphins to compete
You're assuming that LeBron is doing this, or even that his crew are doing it. I'm certain that about 85% of what you're seeing out there is purely the entertainment industry stuck in a feedback loop. They have zero incentive, ZERO, to downplay the drama of what is going on. They have every possible incentive you can imagine to exaggerate or even invent drama.
