The most disappointing player this season has to be Bosh. I love the guy, but after getting that contract he was supposed to be the guy. He has been way too inconsistent. It's not like he's getting a ton of help, but there have been too many games like this one where we have needed him to step up in a big way and he's fallen flat. He's 3 for 12 right now. If he was hitting his shots, this would be a game. He's not, and it's not.

well if there is anything Barkley knows its a team full of stats that can't win a title. He's certainly an expert in that area.

Im not sure hes entirely wrong. I dont see them beating the Spurs, Grizz or GSW in a playoff series. Grizz are too tough inside and defensively, Spurs are just the spurs and come playoff time they do their thing, and GSW is just a better version of Houston. Im not even sure they beat the Blazers.

Yeah these are the kinds of Bosh nights that bum me out. He was downright dreadful. Road underdog when we need a big performance, he draws Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson...Cmon man you have to attack those dudes and dominate.

After the 1st Q I thought the movement on offense was pretty good, albeit against a weak D. Trouble is that without Wade it's tough to manufacture easy inside looks unless it's a lob or offensive board to Whiteside. And Deng looks good, even on the offensive side.

I don't have the science to back this assertion yet, but I'm pretty sure that prolonged periods of exposure to watching Norris Cole try to play basketball can actually give you liver disease.

    The data is still inconclusive.

Will McRoberts be back this year in time for playoffs?

Would be nice to have him back in the rotation because right now one if the biggest problems seems to me that when Miami gives the starting rotation a break in the 1st quarter, the backups are getting torn to shreds.

Supposedly the Suns are considering trading Dragic and want a 1st rounder as part of any deal.

I'd trade our 2017 first in a heartbeat.

Haven't looked at the numbers yet, and we probably don't have much Phoenix would be interested in, but Dragic would make a huge difference for us. He could play PG, but also could start at the 2 during Wade's absences.

He's a FA next year, so you'd have to be convinced he was piece moving forward, but I'd take him.

Shabazz had his best game as a pro last night, but our offense is still far too disjointed. Whiteside needs to be featured more. Our best run came with Haslem of all people hustling and looking for Whitesdie down low. Far too often our sets devolve into throwing it to Bosh 18 feet away with 10 seconds left on the clock.

Running through Whiteside will help everybody, even when Wade gets back.

Suns won't listen to our offers if Whiteside is off the table. lol

I'm honestly more in shock that they rather trade Dragic than Bledsoe. I know they just signed Bledsoe but the guy is hardly iron man...

Anyways... if they're willing to take Cole, Hamilton and a future unprotected first.. that's the best we can do.. If they're interested in Deng, we might be able to work something out with them.

Isn't Dragic just another combo guard that's an average three point shooter?

Doesn't Miami already have one of those?

If the plan is to make a big run at Mike Conley next year then why bother trading a 1st for Dragic?

His 3 point shooting is on par with our team.. which means it's below average.. but he's an efficient scorer overall, shooting 50%. He's an upgrade over Chalmers Cole and Napier.. our 3 point shooting remains bad though.

Overall what this does is fill a huge void at both guard positions when Wade is out, which he will be out again later this season, guaranteed.

Dragic is a career 46 pct. shooter overall, 36 from 3, which isn't great, but he has true PG skills and the ability to drive the lane and score.

He's a massive upgrade over the Colmers combo.

And you would resign him to a long term deal. He's only 28. And you probably wouldn't need the max.

Mike Conley is an excellent player, but I don't see the point in wasting another year if he is your top target. If we really felt good about KD, that's one thing. Otherwise, I'd prefer to maximize what time we have left with Wade, while still building a team that can compete into the future around Whiteside.

I think we're just hopelessly trying to salvage a season and get in the playoffs, even though we don't belong.. we're like the 20th ranked team in the NBA.. First four games of the season we looked really good.. the few games Wade Bosh and Whiteside played together, they looked very good.... now we're hopelessly trying to add a piece and get back to defending our Eastern title.. but that isn't going to happen...

To answer your question, in reality there's nothing we can do this offseason to keep Dragic. The idea works for the 2016 offseason, but this offseason I don't think it's remotely possible to keep all our guys, extend Whiteside, and sign Dragic for the money he will command.

And besides, the ideal point guard for our team has to at least shoot above 40%, hell 45% would be more like it, from 3.

Selfishly I don't care if we get bounced in the first round, I just want to get in the playoffs to show that we are not the Cavs of 2010-2013..

You'd have Dragic's bird rights. There's plenty of money to re-sign him. And there's plenty of money for 2016, particularly if you found a way to dump McBob.

All you need to do is make sure you have max cap space available for Whiteside in 2016.

    doubtful.

McBob would help because he is a great passer for a big man and him alongside Wiltside would be awesome when Bosh goes to the bench. (Bosh is a bad passer) (Only thing he doesn't do well.)

I like Mike Conley a lot for Miami's style of play. I'd focus on him.

This season is probably a throwaway. Some things didn't pan out. I think they could make the playoffs, MAYBE get beyond the first round if the top four-man rotation is healthy and playing a bunch of minutes. But they overestimated the point guard combination of Chalmers, Cole and Shabazz, they suffered some bad injury luck with McBob and Wade, and they made a mistake signing Danny Granger.

Adding Dragic would necessitate a dumping of McBob to be able to sign ONE Max and extend Whiteside in 2016. It is not a maybe..it is a MUST.

Goran Dragic is a "near" 20 PER type player. You have a back court that combines for around 40 in PER, to go with Deng, Bosh and Wiltside..you have a dangerous EC team that can catch a wave right into the EC FINALS. (then...who knows? right matchup? B2B2B2B2B EC Champions?

    yeah..you read that right.

Of course..the wave would need a resurgence from a bench piece or two to go along with perfect health...but it has happened before...Teams do get lucky.

At the very least, it's worth a conversation. I'm sure Riley has had numerous discussions with multiple teams.

Whether anything comes together or not, who knows, but he owes it to Wade to at least take a shot.

Yea, 45% from a high usage player from 3 would be pretty incredible. I mean, I know it happens, but that's the best of the best, 40% is much more achievable.

Getting Dragic on the Heat, even primarily as constructed, would be a huge boon.

Interesting thoughts. I would have liked to see what McBob could do with this team, but if you're thinking bigger there should be no problem getting rid of him. Plus, then you have a pretty good starting 5 this season if Wade and Deng can stay healthy. Trading Deng would weaken you quite a bit this year, but might give Ennis a change to develop quicker. I would trade either of those guys along with the 2017 pick to get Dragic.

An analytics look at the trades: (Charles Barkley is gonna hate this)

A Trade that includes Deng....would weaken the team overall due to the severe weakening of the small forward position would overshadow the improvement in guard play.

A Trade that includes McBob...well...you get Dragic for a guy in crutches.....simple really.

honestly dont think you should be an all star when you dont play half the games leading up to the event but i find the feud Charles has with Wade a little weird. Wade got him in the T Mobile ads, Barkley credited Wade for that gig, this was a moment when Barkley was struggling to get a penny due to his gambling addiction. Something must have happened afterwards between them.

Rockets trying to snag Reggie Jackson. YES, PLEASE. We are in need of someone other than Harden who can create.

While we're at it, let's see what Utah wants for Kanter. Supposedly he's told the Jazz he wants to go. Gotta start planning for Dwight's trade next year.

I wouldn't be a huge fan of getting Nelson. He seems like a band aid that could solidify the 7th seed for the Heat, but not a whole lot more than that. I guess if you're not really giving much up to get him it's fine, but I'd rather see them make a play for someone that could help long term like Dragic or Jackson (if he's really being shopped) or just give the keys to Napier for the rest of the year and see what he can do as he settles into the starter role.
