You know..Houston matches up well with the Spurs....OKC is falling apart....

Rockets...14'-15' champs? Possible. Harden has to get over his playoff woes.

Thought it was the bottom of the 3rd. At what point in the 4th did the run come? It had to have been early, because we were up double digits for a while in the 4th.

Wasn't a one man matchup on him. D just imploded after 1st half. Looked really solid on closeouts and really quick with switches but something happened in the second half. Looked like Spo was experimenting with lineups. 3 guard lineup looked pretty tight the first half.

    He should dominate Marvin Williams.

Why he play 11 min. In 1st half? Can't be those 2 fouls.

7 minutes left it was 90 - 86. Bosh 3 if I remember correctly brought it to that. Had a stop on defense and then everything went to hell offensively.

I worry about Papanikolaou and Canaan. They are going to have to bring it. Being young cant be an excuse. That goes for Harden too.

Hamilton rebounds, fouls and hits open threes. He sucks at everything else.

    He makes me nervous.

I don't think I'd expect Hamilton to dominate anybody with less than 20 NBA games experience. He's just not that guy. A few of his threes were on point but just didn't flush down.

Really weird rotations by Spo tonight, don't know what was going through his head but you need to play your best players more than that.

Sloppy play tonight, and sub-par play by all 3 point guards. Gotta cover that corner three. Was wide open all night.

    GG Rockets.

He played really well. I expect exactly what you said from him. He was not that guy. Could be a complete anomaly of a game but I'm encouraged.

Then he's already better than Oden, who did a couple of one-foot-jump dunks and not much else.

    Wade 19 pts on 7 for 11 and Bosh 21 on 8 for 14.

Didn't shoot enough. Houston D or miami O screwed that up?

Miami O. Not sure why Bosh was on the bench so long in the 1st half. Wade looked good the whole game. Came up lame on a hard layup in the 1st half and entered late in the 3rd. Harden played well on D though. Free throws were brutal.

Yep..Harden was good on his covers tonight.

D12 was dominant. Synergy blames the Heat Pg's. Got smashed by Bev and the Beard.

Just absolutely brutal closing out in the 3rd quarter. Coast to coast lateral passes left 3 wide open from deep corner for 6 or 7 minutes. Like, 6 feet between defender and shooter. Completely infuriating watching.

Working with Coach K and Coach Thibs over the summer has done wonders for Harden's game. His rebounding and assist numbers are looking really promising so far this year. It's amazing what competent coaching can do.

He was awful. Hopefully just rust and lack of chemistry with heat roster. We all know what he can be offensively and defensively, it'll come together as the season unfolds.

When we got Ariza and Papanikolaou, I commented on here that we may set records for 3s. We haven't even been playing our best shooter, Troy Daniels. Canaan is a beast behind the arc too.

Stephen A Smith says LeBron is pissed off with the Cavs because they didn't re-sign Rich Paul's boy Tristan Thompson.

Good game Rockets. Deng was ice cold and the whole team went through a stretch like that. Cut it to four but it was just too much.

Unless Lebron has some sort of agreement with Rich Paul that makes him money off of these players, I don't see why that would affect him. SAS is completely throwing stuff on the wall and hoping it sticks.

Besides, that Gilbert guy just handed out two max contracts, picked up Mike Miller and a bunch of other players, and still has to re-sign Kevin Love. Let's not forget this guy is in Cleveland a city that no one cares for and the profit is almost non existent.

When you have a 4 share on tv ratings after all that hype built up on ESPN for opening night, that just tells you all you need to know about how much profit is coming in and how many people give a crap. Didn't even come close to Michael Jordan's return to the NBA or even the NFL draft this past season in ratings. Hell Monday Night RAW gets a 4 share regularly. He doesn't own the Lakers or the Knicks, it's the Cavaliers, a very small market. If Lebron is willing to pay these checks I'm sure Gilbert will gladly accept help.

Oh, Kobe - demands a contract so big the team can't put anyone around him, drives away Dwight Howard, then complains that they suck. But this way he still gets his shots.

In all honesty, though, this is great for the Lakers. Kobe still draws the crowds and ratings, but they get to quietly tank the hell out of the season.

re: Cavs - David Blatt has been AWFUL this year, but imagine trying to coach a team when LeBron randomly "decides" to quit trying for 3 quarters.

I am not as high on Hamilton as you guys are. During the Heat's run, he had two big turnovers. He cannot finish near the basket either. I also think we saw a little of the "bad Wade" late in the game. Too much dribbling, and bad decisions. The offense should go through Bosh almost always with this team. He is the best player on the team and the best player on the court most nights. Going away from him as the game started to slip away was a mistake IMO.

He's an effort rebounder with size and a stretch shooter IMO. The things you said are accurate

Normally I would write off SAS as a moron but it should be noted that he's friends with Maverick Carter and Rich Paul so to me it's fair to assume that they may have told him something.

Couple things I'm wondering about regarding some new pieces and roles...

    1) Why isn't Ennis getting more meaningful minutes? How will he even see the floor when Granger gets back? I get that he has some floor feel/system/polish stuff to develop...But isn't this the time to work on that? I feel like he needs to see more of the floor in non-garbage-time situations to get him into things.

    2) If Cole continues to be so up-and-down, where you don't know which Cole is gonna show up (like he's been his entire career)...How long do you ride him as the starter? His inconsistencies were hidden or easier to deal with last year as a bench guy and with LeBron playing like a PG...But I feel like you can't have this kind of fluctuation in your starting PG who handles the ball, gets the offense set, and makes key decisions.

I would hope he can outgrow this night-and-day stuff by January or something, I dunno. Not sure you can move Chalmers to start there because he's so key backing up Wade, and I dunno how quickly they'd be comfortable starting Napier - though I will say that SN seems to get things set and run the offense better with good decisions, more of a pure PG look. I dunno. Just thinking ahead here if Cole keeps up his habit of no-showing, as he tends to do.
