Since '88, the Cavs have had a lottery pick to use all of two more times than the heat as far as I can tell (10 vs 12).

I don't know that I expect "explosion" per se, but I do expect that we could see the Wade of last season that was one of the most efficient scoring SGs in 30 years and averaged 22 per, but w/o all those missed games that were necessary during the healing plan. Although a lighter Wade (better diet) might bring some improvement in explosion over what he had last season. I just don't expect we'll ever see the explosion that existed 3 years ago.

I think that people fail to understand that he was on a healing plan and people have short term memories that overstate the last performance they saw. So fans and media tend to assume/believe that Wade will forevermore miss 30 or so games and play as badly as those last two games in the finals.

Here's another one propelling the LeBron is certain to sign _________ narrative. Yet some are acting like nobody is saying that.

To be fair, he said since Riley got here.

We were an expansion team. Of course we were in the lottery a ton

Ok, the Cavs have been operating like an expansion team since Lebron left, so of course recently been in the lottery a lot. Their goal was to be bad and accumulate assets/picks and build through the draft since they have less than good odds in FA.

Now last year they absolutely failed (hence firing the GM and coach), but they were close to the playoffs until the last week of the season.

    Since Pat Riley (1995-1996):

    880 wins
    610 losses

    Heat have .590 win %
    3 losing seasons

    Cavs have .469 winning % since 95-96
    10 losing seasons

    Numbers never lie...

We have made the playoffs 15 out of 18 seasons since the man got here...he knows what the heck he is doing, Cleveland was a clownshow before Lebron and now after he left...

How many lottery picks do you need to get your crap together and become at least respectable?? We went 15-67 in Pat's last season and the next year with a rookie coach no less, we made the playoffs with a WINNING record. Give me a break...

Lebron is certain to sign with Miami because it's the best place for him to be with a couple other players he is familiar with (and very talented at that), and a great FO situation to boot.

For anyone that thinks this thread has drama, please feel free to peruse the RealGM Heat boards and RealCavsFans.

Somebody over there (another insider) said Wade gave LeBron his "blessing" last night, like LBJ asked to marry his daughter.

Now the Cavs fans are freaking out.

What was this blessing? "Sure you led me on and cost me millions if dollars but no worries. Do what you gotta do. Let's hit the clubs"

So far the team looks like

    Lebron $20.7m
    Bosh $16m
    Wade $14m
    Cole $2.15m
    Haslem $2.5m
    Napier $1m
    ?????? $6.65m
    ---------------
    Salary Cap $63m

    Josh McRoberts ($5.3m LME)
Danny Granger ($2.2m trade exception from Joel trade)
    ?????? ($2m bi annual exception)
    Ray Allen (Bird Rights)
    James Ennis (minimum exception)
    James Jones (Bird Rights)
    Chris Anderson (Bird Rights)

So we are still chasing someone to take around $6.5m and it looks like the FAs in the running are Pau Gasol, Jameer Nelson, Kirk Hinrich and Anthony Morrow.

Once Riley gets a player to agree to it the big three will work their contracts around it and re-sign.

This. That's why it's unbelievable to me that he would go back their in his prime, Cavs are an inept organization.

He goes to Cleveland, they are a much better team than the Heat the moment he gets off the plane. They would have a young all star in Kyrie, a potential stud in Wiggins, and 3 1st round picks. Wish the Dolphins were this inept.

Im pretty sure at 1 PM thursday my Knicks are going to look very different. Not exactly sure how yet but I think Amare Bargs and JR may all be on the move. Pretty sure Chicago, Dallas and Houston are out on Melo. And it wont be Miami. LAL may be only legit landing spot but like Section said its the order that things happen in sometimes and that could be whats keeping Melo waiting right now. Not exactly sure what spells the Zen Master is casting but yowza.....this was good news.

Guys! What if LeBron signed with the DOLPHINS instead? Wouldn't that be awesome? LeBron James playing tight end.

Come on Steve Ross! Make it happen!

It depends on how good those lotteries actually are. If most of the players are average NBA players at best (so far) of course it is going to take a while to become respectable especially when you have limited vet experience on the team and your arguably second best player (and main vet) misses significant time.

As far as the rookie coach thing, Mike Brown made the playoffs his rookie year. Dwayne Wayde also didn't miss 30 games the year after you went 15-67, and he ascended even further as a star in the process (I mean he elevated his game). Missing the playoffs with a year like Wayde had that year would be more noteworthy than making the playoffs with a rookie head coach.

Or what about as a Marlin?

....Ah, who I'm kidding. He'd be traded by the end of the season after putting together an all-star performance.

It was legit the first time (with Kidd..days before it happened) and fyi, espn is copying him and twitter is trending him. Im not sure what it all means but the amare rumors and bargs rumors are real. where there is smoke there is fire.

Philly has 30 million in open cap. If they take Lins 11 and amare at 22 thats 33. Throw in the knicks 3.6M trade exception from the chandler deal and youre good to go there. Orlando and Milwaukee are the landing spots Ive heard/seen for JR (not from Real GM)...

So then what's the answer to the riddle supposed to be?

You trade those guys and take no salary back for a LeBron/Melo combo?

Im not sure yet exactly for the riddle as I havent put 2+2 together there for NBA terms yet. Based on his other posts (I just went through all of them), the big 3 are staying together so Im guessing something else is brewing? Phil's been pretty secretive (chandler trade came out of nowhere)...

Im thinking the riddle relates to jersey numbers but it would contradict an earlier post where he said the big 3 are staying unless he means a different #6? Lance Stephenson is the only other major player who wears #6 besides Lebron and J Smoove (god no)....

Edit....could also relate to Kobe wanting his 6th ring...

we will see on Thursday. I'll be the first to admit I was skeptical when I saw him post the Kidd thing days before anyone else did. He has some cred there. Next 36 hours could be fun

Why don't we play a game....let's count how many times espn has been right and this kids been right. So far 1-0 Carl.
