    Bosh is okay. I mean, it's not like he's a multi-time All-Star or anything.

Eh, suspect some things, Riley has been around the block a time or two, suspect he took a sip of scotch, thought about DW and made plans accordingly

He was on the summer league team a year ago as I recall. He killed us with Indiana in Orlando summer league when the Heat played against them and then I think he was on the Heat's summer league team in Las Vegas.

Last year he shot a whopping 17 of 27 from three (63%) with the Heat's summer league team. He was only 5 of 18 from behind the arc with Indiana in Orlando this year but that came up to 8 of 21 (38%) when he re-joined the Heat. I don't know if it's the spots and situations the Heat's offensive style tends to put him in or if it's just random, but he's 25 of 48 (.521) from behind the arc with the Heat in summer leagues but only 7 of 25 (.280) with the other teams (Indiana and Sacramento).

Should be mentioned he played with Philadelphia and Atlanta this year in the real regular season and shot 8 of 25 (.320) from downtown. Probably most disturbing about his regular season work is that he was only 7 of 21 (.333) on field goals excluding three point shots.

I don't think it's so much as "hate", it's just easy to pick on, especially when compared to a city like Miami. Just like Miami is easy to pick on because of the fans (Deservingly so or not, depends on who you ask)

Miami was HATED. Nobody hates Cavs, or Cleveland, and I think its fair to say that everybody (other than us, Miami fans) was glad that Bron left Miami. So now Miami fans are picking on Cleveland because they are...bothered. Jealous. Butthurt. Whatever you want to call it.

If he never wins another, we should just retire his Cavaliers jersey, a la Jordan. Just to be funny.

I'd rather hang a plain white #1 jersey next to MJ the day of LeBron's retirement.

I like this one better though. It really emphasizes the fact that Cleveland is not Detroit.

Cleveland is getting off lightly compared to the treatment Miami's received over the last 30 or so years.

Miami's been hated since Howard Schnellenberger and Jimmy Johnson.

SO Lebron is going back to 23?

So 5 years ago when he said that he felt the league should retire #23 and that he would change his number out of respect to Jordan...that was all bull****?

    This guy lies a lot.

haha c'mon now. You don't actually believe that. People RAVE about Miami as a city. I don't know if I've ever heard someone in the media compliment Cleveland.

Does make it all the more likely that his #6 jersey gets retired in Miami though. That's the smart decision on his part. He's a guy that will usually make the smart decision.

I can't tell if this is being said sarcastically. Considering the post you are replying to is praising Bosh, it feels like this was said seriously. If that's true, you do realize Bosh has made the All-Star team 9 straight years now?

Yes, I do actually believe that. Listen to opinion spewers talk about Miami. It's 99% negative. Meanwhile, of course LeBron returning to Cleveland makes total sense.

I do believe that, but also don't disagree with your point. In general, Miami will be one of those cities that engenders strong opinions. They'll receive both more hate and more love. A city like Cleveland will not receive as much of either, but will generally just be more lightly mocked and receive less praise.

This is absolutely right. Lebron's Q ratings and his "poll" numbers are right back to his per-decision numbers.

It is a little too obvious to me that most of America does not like our city. They perceive us as "fake" and "undeserving". They are either jealous of our city, or they just hate brown people enjoying success.

I invite trolls from all teams on twitter...why is it the Cavs fans that go immediately to racism? (Boston fans do so as well)

Cavs fans on twitter are REALLY weird. There's a really close-knit group that runs all the blogs and is really pretty great. Then there is this whole other group that is just off-the-walls insane. Its really weird. The insane ones never really turn up within the hardcore fans, so I'm always shocked when I see Matt Moore RT them (or you bring them up in this case.)

So I have no idea. Hate that it happens and apologize for them, though. I can assure you that we're as embarrassed of that side as we should be. It's really awful.

I hate to say it, but I think that's a bigger factor than many of us are willing to admit. I grew up in Miami but have lived many other places since. One of the most striking differences is that most places are far less diverse. Most of the country besides the coasts are really homogenous. And in most other places Latinos are basically second class citizens. They tend to be a relatively poorer and less educated minority. The Latinos you meet in much of the country are far more likely to be your housekeeper, construction worker or landscaper than any other profession. That isn't the case in Miami where the Latinos you meet and know are just as likely to be highly educated and successful professionals as any other race. Obviously that's not going to be a factor in every criticism of Miami, but there will be a large percentage of the critics that are in fact racist. That increases to total amount of criticism and the total amount of unjust criticism.

I think the brown people enjoying success thing is very true when it comes to Michelle Beadle, I find a lot of her tweets directed at South Florida a little racist. It's almost like she says you won't catch me down there with all those blacks, browns and Jews.

Houston is 42% Hispanic, 22% African American, and 6% Asian. Caucasians are the minority here. If people hated brown people enjoying success, Houston, the 4th largest city in America would be right up there. Also, the median household income is higher than Miami's.

Point being, I don't think people hating Miami has anything to do with brown people or their success. If that was the case, they'd hate Houston even more. And i don't see it.

People love winners. Lebron made Miami a winner and the media ate that s**t up. ESPN devoted half their day to the Heat. Lebron's gone now, and unless Miami can find a way to win without him, they will be irrelevant in sports media just like Houston is.
