BTW I do think Patrick Young would be an intriguing guy for the Heat to bring in. I don't know how he'll do as a shot blocker at this level, but I do think he should be able to develop as a nice post defender. He has quick enough feet and he's so strong that he rarely gets moved off the block. I also think that personality/work-ethic wise that he'd fit in well with the Heat. He could be the latest Gator to come in and become a valuable cog for the Heat.

 

I'd be all for Young. I mentioned McAdoo because I figured there was a natural tie with his uncle being part of the Heat family.

So Rick Bucher is claiming that Miami and Toronto have agreed in principle to a trade fro Kyle Lowry. They'll send Cole, cash and future picks.

I trust Bucher as much as I trust a rattlesnake, so I'd like to hear from Section on this.

They sure as **** won't confirm something like this before July 1st.

Le Batard has retweeted the Lowry to Miami report… three times.

Let's just assume this is true for a moment. It means the Heat have completely rebuilt the PG position with a new starter and a new rotation player. Great, fine. But what in the hell are they doing about the 5? Oden isn't going to suddenly play 42 minutes a game.

 

Might be Le Batard is retweeting making fun of Bucher, after all, Bucher is also claiming Bosh is going back to Toronto, which I don't see happening at all.

 

BTW..none of these deals CANNOT be "done" before July 10th.

UPDATE: My guy says the Heat have not had a single discussion with Toronto and will not have one till July 1st.

Well maybe the Lowry deal is BS but I'm hoping its not. Lowry/Shabazz would be a nice duo.

Bosh and Wade will opt out of Deals this weekend.

Both will enter negotiations with the team on new deals. Bosh's deal is expected to run 5 years with player options each of the last 2 years. Wade's deal is expected to be a 4 year deal with a player option in the 4th year.

The Heat is expecting a proposal from Rich Paul (Lebron's Agent) sometime Sunday.

The Heat is not aware of the numbers or terms that James is seeking.

I watched this live and it's a shame that guy is getting crushed for it. Mitchell is Andrew's Dad and the at by at guy had just had a convo and talked about Mitchell right before turning to say Andrew. It really was a pretty honest screw up and if you see the whole clip and not just the snippet that makes him look bad it wasn't a huge deal.

 

I wouldn't mind Spencer hawes at 5. If they are hell bent on bosh playing 5 then they'll need a PF

 

I still really want Gortat.

 

I could see a guy like Pau Gasol coming in. He fits the profile of the aging vet who's made plenty of money and primarily wants another chance at a ring.

 

My gut is he will be put of our price range.

On a team with Lebron, Norris Cole and Shabazz Napier are NOT the reasons you don't sign. He's going to command a good deal more than we can offer IMO

 

I think Gasol is done. Not sure he can offer anything the Heat need, even off the bench.

 

I'd disagree with that. While certainly no longer an all star player, he's still a good offensive player and better than many (perhaps even most) players on the heat bench last year.

 

I have a higher opinion of Gasol.

 

Obviously, yes. That's fine. We can have contrasting opinions of a player.

 

Sorry man, I don't buy it. I've never called someone by a wrong name in my life and I can't imagine doing it in front of tons of people.

 

I think Pau would be a very good fit for the Heat. He would bring much needed rebounding and some offense off the bench at a position where the Heat don't have much.
